This is the first time I ever had any problems with the program. I had a script error that wouldn't go away. I have used this product for years and I will continue to do so. Hopefully, the next time I buy it, it will be perfect.

Where's the Decemil Place?
Not a bad product. I like seeing the return on screen which makes it easier to complete and review. HOWEVER, IT DRIVES ME NUTS THAT THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC DECIMAL WHEN ENTERING NUMBERS INTO THE PROGRAM. You have to manually enter the decimal point. STUPID!!! All other tax programs automatically enter the decimal point.

Others had a bigger discount than I received.
I was very frustrated when I went to enter RRSP data.
I had two receipts, one for Jan-Feb, 2016 and one for March - Dec. 2016
The screen only asked for data for March to Dec.
The receipt for Jan-Feb was not used before.
The software needs to be changed to include this entry

Not easy
Several things in 2016 need fixing and will frustrate users.
Trying to netfile with anti virus activated didn't work. Had to search FAQs for answer. Why couldn't this have been an alert.
Have many t slips/receipts from same outfit. This year it wasn't possible to copy/paste

Great software
The software is very useful and simple to follow. However, some times I needed to guess what information to enter and how. for example , the software handling of the home buyer amount where it asked the same questions to both spouses. I think it should just ask these questions to one spouse and have the other spouse just confirm the information instead.
The software also suggest that on spouse to claim all the medical expenses, but then suggested to the other spouse to forward these expenses to next year which would have resulted in less tax refunds for the family.

Some deficiencies
The ability to print comparative/tax summaries and some of the other reports, other than what is part of the tax return is an issue and frustrating as the information would be valuable for record purposes but cannot be retained except by manually writing it down.
Otherwise, the program is easy to work with, though a knowledge of tax returns is essential to easily navigate through the various forms and correct lines to enter information.

Help not so good
I have used Turbo Tax since the 90's when it was QuickTax. I can not believe how un-helpful the help part of the program is. It would work so much better if you could get a live chat with someone like you used to be able to. Now you ask a question and it searches for you and the answers that closely match don't even match half the time. Very disappointed this year with the help!!!

GREAT DECISION
So easy to use, love how they ask questions and query to ensure you are getting all deductions. Do not have to be an accountant to do your taxes, TurboTax makes sure you do it right!

Turbo tax 20 -
Works adequately. Asks good questions to lead you through, and to help prevent forgetting eligible deductions. Improvement areas would be: 1) on business and farm statements there is not enough room for asset additions, and no ability to add lines; 2) when there are partners in a business the information should automatically transfer to the other return.

another year,another return
would prefer less step by step help - presumably if you are doing 20 returns, you must have some knowledge of how to do personal tax returns.
would love to know how to remove unnecessary forms before printing - there does not seem to be a mechanism to do this so it prints excess forms that might have been relevant a few years ago as it is part of the carryforward memory if you have used turbotax in prior years.

I have been using this software and the one I like most. However, changes to the software itself sometime improve it and sometimes it makes it worst. One should be familar with the software and too much changes every way is like trying and learning a new product. Not a good feeling for someone who does it once a year.

Good Software...Steady!
The only real quirk I have this year (2014) with turbo tax is they have taken away the TABS and added a left pane instead. Hopefully next year you guys could re-instate TABS so you can easily jump and make substitutions and calculations in different portions of the return without having to switch to viewing full return. Have it available in Easy Method specifically. Other than that quick, fast, efficient, get-the-job-done, excellent software as usual!

problems
Cannot enter into box fields directly on P.1 of T1, such as choice of language.
Have to enter when fixing errors.
Also losses not shown well.
I am using Windows 8.1, Chinese version. Wonder if that is the reason.
Registration quite cumbersome - have to enter all information provided on internet purchase again.

Child Fitness amount needs to be manually entered AGAIN for Provincial Tax Credit... could the software not automatically make the claim for Federal AND Provincial without having to enter it twice ???
