A handy product
Using this program makes doing taxes much less daunting for someone not very math-techy like myself. I feel like one thing was a new feature this year (or I'm just forgetting it from 364 days ago). Having to use a slide bar to view work sheets is kind of annoying. You have to read the line on the left then slide to the right to fill in/check the numbers actually inserted.

Good but
Good step by step approach od filling different papers. However, the application has some problems with working on a computer with two screens attached. Sub windows (lower part of the main window is stretched across two monitors and require to maximize the app to fill two full screens which bring to dividing the texts between screens.

Weird Printer Problem
Easy enough program to use although it did hang during registration.
The printer select window is the most idiotic I have ever seen. Instead of a nice vertical list it displays it in a 3 row array and scrolls to the far right.(you only see 3 options, all print to file) I could not find my printers until I figured this lunacy out .

May need standard version
I found the "easy" option very cumbersome, and did not give me everything I needed. Information on a T5008 form was very problematic. The "form" route provided me with the form for entering T5008 data but then did nothing with it. I could also not access the T5008 data area on the Schedule 3 supplemental sheet and so ultimately had to just enter the capital gains and losses data in the regular section of Schedule 3 supplemental. That seemed the only way to get the required info into my return.

I don't know if it has to do with covid or not but after completion would not let me print my file or my wife's or to netfile to CRA maybe someone can give me an explanation even though everything was completed that had to be.Will we get our money $$ hopefully

Support was good
I had an issue filing a T. 1135. The error message from the CRA was completely unhelpful.
However, online support figured out a typo in the form and once fixed I was able to submit it.
Impressive.

Wife's Earninings
I could not input a figure into the box where they asked for line 23600 from my wife's tax return. I know we do qualify for any benefits as our income is too high so no biggy.
And your short survey is not so short. It was too long so I quite filling it out.

Why not 5 star
Overall, TurboTax Basic is very good if you have a good understanding of the income tax form. Why I did not give it five stars:
1) when going through the Netfile process you cannot return to the underlying tax form to make additional changes in case the warnings bring up something that requires more changes than what the warning indicates.
2) when Turbotax asks about the email notification it does not provide an option that you already have subscribed to email and you have to resubscribe. My understanding from CRA is that this is a one-time choice.

Works well for my simple situation
My finances are straight forward with no investments or complicated tax issues so this works very well for me. My only complaint is it's not always easy to find a specific form / field if you want to go back and check / change something but overall, it's pretty straight forward.

Issues
Annoying autofill window opens up every time software is opened and there is no way of preventing it.

I found it difficult to load this program because it din not give feedback on what was done and/or what the next step should be. Also,many next steps were not placed in an obvious location.

Mostly Great
This is my third year using Turbo Basic. For the first time had some trouble. Couldn't register online and couldn't print. This was all resolved April 6, 2020 when we got an update. Strange not to have had one sooner as we had a day of frustration. Otherwise, excellent.
