The Basic has all you need to do most returns
The basic is good for almost all returns and is good value.
The only problem I had was entering tax installment payments, this was fixed by increasing the font size, which is really weird but works, found this fix through looking it up on google where others had the same issue

Good but clunky in parts
Pretty good product but for some tax slip entering it was not intuitive that multiple fields were represented by one box on the form. UI be adjusted to make it obvious that additional fields are represented in a sub from.

Very easy to use
Being a senior citizen at 73 years old I found it fairly easy to complete. I had to pay attention as I went along but overall results were quite satisfying.

On your website you should make it clear that basic is just as functional as standard, just not as automatic. Could be cheaper.

Ensure that you follow the online installation - there are two ways you can log into Turbo Tax - I chose the wrong one causing an enormous time loss as I had to re enter all information. You need turbotax.ca/download

acceptable product
Turbo tax works well, until one tries to print. The default program appears to show any 'zeros' in 'green', but when printing nothing shows up. So I get a situation when I print the return to mail, I see nothing in the Balance Owing nor Refund boxes...I don't know how the CRA views this. (I have essentially zero income so pay no tax), however I'd like to see the boxes filled in when I print for my records. Don't seem to be able to adjust this default color when I print.

I did not save it properly the first time i used it a few days ago, & had to start all over again, I was not impressed, searched for it for 20 mins on my computer, & my documents, where I thought it was.

Good Product
I've been using TurboTax for many years. I don't do Netfile as not all the documents are available online.
This year I was prompted to insert the CD before printing copies for the CRA. I find it rather strange. Hope that could be fixed for next year.

Makes it Easy
Good. But don't ask what language I wish to communicate in. If I've used the English version of TurboTax then obviously I will be using English as my language of communication. Also, use defaults in the review questions. If the address is Ontario ask 'Is company XYZ in Ontario? Otherwise click here to cnange.'. Plus something like 'We are entering that you didn't dispose of your primary residence in 2017. If you did then please click here to change this.'. Things could be easier on the review portion.

Best way to file in my books, only complaint is I would find it easier if the internal forms would load in an editable PDF viewer it is so small and hard to tell if the inputs are correct for that matter and corresponding lines.

good program CRA not so much
The tax program is very straight forward and easy to use, recommend the product but some of the explanations on certain topics were very confusing and not helpful. Too many changes from last years format left me wondering WHY. The CRA has obviously changed and added more difficulty to the end user in figuring out what they want. For example the principal residence area, could not figure out what they wanted and the tax program info was just as confusing. Also it did not ask for charitable donations WHY.

Did it myself!
I was nervous to do my own tax return. I was afraid of making mistakes and having to admit I wasn't smart enough to do it. I bought Turbo Tax at the drug store and now my taxes are done. I DID IT!

be patient

Super easy
Turbo tax is great as the 'wizard' takes you through the whole return so you don't miss anything. I always purchase the assistance of a turbo tax accountant to check it over for my own peace of mind and to answer any questions I might have. A very easy experience!

It is exactly as described. I had a LIF payment for the first time with an amount in Box 24 that tripped me up for a bit but otherwise the resulting filing of our returns was easy and printing them up at home eliminated trips out.
