Works Well
Overall this product was great. Certaint parts were a little confusing, not to mention there was a lot of parts that I had to skip over. But overall it was great. Will definatly buy this again.

Hard time to activate!
Even If I do my income tax on computer, I'm not expert. Took me more than 1 hour to be able to use the program. It did not want to take the activation number, keep telling me it was not good. So I persevere and finally got it. All together, took me 2h30 to do my tax report!!!

I had a tough time sending to netfiling my tax returns as the category code for the commission line of income is "invalid" many times entered so it will not accept to netfile. Very frustrating indeed.

be cautious doing back taxes
If one spouse did his returns on time, but you did not, this program makes assumptions that are not always correct.

Forces you to give a phone number
Ive used this tax software for many years. This is the first year you need to give your phone number to use it. I wont be buying it again.

Turbo Tax usabiltiy - not great
Intuit has had 20+ years to make useabiltiy improvements and have chosen not to - ever. For example, I like using the 'forms' method, but the form fonts are so small and there is no way to magnify the forms when looking at the details. This should be 'table stakes'. I think the government needs to offer online Tax Return forms and unless you guys improve your product and have a compelling reason for customers to pay for it then you should lose business. I know Intuit lobbies the govenrment NOT to have online forms but it will happen soon

Did the job
For the most part it was a simple tool to use. I purchased the Basic version. As a retired pensioner it did most of the things I needed with the exception of Capital Loss on investments which required Googling to sort out. also it did not accommodate a T4A with a box 134.

Many Text in Software is unreadable
Many of the software texts in the basic software is unreadable. This did not affect me filling my form as it was just basic text provided by the software.

Impossible to do two!
I purchased the 2019 return - for two returns. BUT had to overwrite the first return to do the second as could not get to a blank page. I am also left with MULTIPLE 2023 return starts that I will most likely delete - even the one that I need to keep as there is absolutely no way to tell what is what. Very frustrating. From a lifeline to a leadline with one return.

how to get an answer
I want a simple answer and keep getting sent to FAQ.
I neet to netfile my returns which are already completed on turbotax. P printed them but was unable to send them through netfile. How can I do this? Whenever I click refile, I get sent to FAQ which is no help at all. I was able to do it with 2018 and 2019, why not the rest?

Okay for Very Simple Returns
To be fair, it works fine for the basic information entry. However, if you have any RIF investments, Digital News claims or Union membership claims, it is not a very pleasant experience. You get the Federal Form shown and you have to find your entry on that and then enter the value. The Digital News entry did NOT work no matter what I did.

Outdated.
Forced to use this outdated program because they decide to discontinue previous versions of the online software. I had a previous File opened with turbotax 2020 but it never got filed. I figured I could log on on submit it under the same account but that was not the case. I would recommend using another free online software that allows you to stay online for older versions.

I use Turbo tax every year but it the software seems confusing now with the Basic. 1) The download website is full of questions rather than a button that should have been found at the very top of the Download website of which software version I bought. The website wanted my to create an account and caused me so much time to find out later that it had nothing to do with my purchase at bestbuy. 2) After I completed my taxes and wanted to netfile and clicked the button to netfile, your questions led me to the very end where it had nothing to do with net filing. It became so less user friendly.
