Verifying T5008 figures difficult
After going to the print section and specifying save for my records. The result only shows one page of 5008 data and a total for the other pages. Cannot verify the numbers with my own offline data.

This stuff works!
I is important for me to explain that my 'lower' rating is because the last few years of using it I have been perplexed by having to dig into the bowels of forms to apply for ON-BEN benefits! I am quite sure a lot of people are missing these!
. There should be a section the asks "Do you want to apply for A, B, C, etc listing the requirements to apply. Also, therer is a question in there somewhere that asks if you live outside a mega-populated area. I missed that one again this time.

prefer standard
Loyal turbotax user for years. First time I have bought the basic. I usually buy the standard version and will definitely be going back to standard next year.
Suggestion make a version of the standard that is good for 4 returns, that's why I bought the basic I don't need 8 returns anymore.

Entry problems
I have used Turbo Tax for years and this is the first time that I found it difficult.
I.E. I had to search forms to find a spot to enter my spouses B. day because I was getting errors with the easy step method. It also froze when I wanted to go to the CRA to view my assessment and had to restart my computer .

I can't netfile because of error "Your spouse/partner's date of birth is missing". Where do I enter my spouse's date of birth?
And it seems to be very difficult to find. The access code is nowhere to find too.

Basic is really basic

Very Dissapointing!
Have used Turbo Tax for years. Too confusing this year. Doesn't flow as it used to. Asks some questions (E mail addy) more than once.
Very frustrating this year. Used to be a lot easier to follow!

New name....Crashalot
Taxes are bad enough, but trying to use a program to do those taxes that crashes several times is worse. It even crashed while sending the forms. I may have sent one of them twice because of that. I may have needed to use an old computer because this one must be too fast.

questions
One of the questions is very confusing. You are asked to answer You do not have other....income and you have to answer the opposite. Another "Access Code" is needed to netfile. Used to be easy to file.

Poor navigation
TT clearly doesn't want me to PRINT my return. And when I do (all 100 pages), it watermarks duplicate all over it. Finally figured out that you have to pretend to e-file it, but then print it instead. Convoluted. Killed more trees today.

No optimizing
I was expecting an opportunity to optimize, that being deflect part of the higher earners pension money to the lower pension earner.
The result is I likely had to pay more taxes.

A Problem
I could not set or correct my son's address. It insisted that his address was my address, and when I tried to correct it, it sent me to change my address. And there does not seem to be any way to talk to someone for support on this (or any) issue.

Good, BUT could be so much better
TurboTax is a good, accurate, reliable and trustworthy piece of software. If you have a good understand of how to complete a CRA tax return, I have yet to find something you can not do with Turbo Tax Basic. You just need some patience and understanding
Sadly, there are numerous annoying details (unclear questions, unnecessary questions, only a partial transfer of information from your previous year's return to populate your current year return, etc.) in the software too, that repeat year after year. A little programing could easily fix these and make the product so much better overall and more user friendly too

Buy the Basic version
Was not pleased at how casually the provincial forms were treated in the cheapest Version. If you have similar treatment in the Basic Version, I won't be a customer going forward. Otherwise, the product worked seamlessly and well. You have a good product, but perhaps you are creating too many versions of it in order to compete with the free CRA filing service.

Is it time to switch?
I have used TT for many many years, however I found this year more difficult to use than previous years. I found this year's software clunky and easy to miss items. I think it may be time to check other options. I'll give them 1 more year and if it doesn't improve, I'm out.

It would be better if the questions asked and the forms we fill out actually looked like or at least followed the numbering pattern on the RL1 and T4.
