Bought the basic package for two people.
Didn't need the 20 person package.

adequate
This product works fine as long as you have a good idea what you are doing or your tax situation is uncomplicated. Lots of opportunity to upgrade for more $$ - no thanks or I would have purchased the standard product in the first place!

Not as good as it used to be.
Impossible to register, tried three times and no luck. The registration font is too small for seniors. Needed a magnify glass to read.
Unable to control and scroll to enlarge.

User Friendly
I was a fan of this software but this year not so much as it took me 4 days to get a response to a question about a deduction. I did not find the software user friendly like i had in past years

Easy to use but has flaws
Turbo tax is simple and straight forward for the most part. It lacks a tool for explaining things simply: for the layman, what is needed is an understanding of what the terms mean, and whether or not something applies to them. Turbo tax has immense room for improvement in that regard.
The worst part was the failure of the software; random closures while doing my return that caused set backs and frustration.

Good value but difficult to use
We've been using Turbotax for the last few years and have enjoyed it. This year however the templates weren't easy to understand and made things frustrating. All in all though its good value.

Sheer agony
For the first time in 5 years I found this program difficult to use. I had immense problems using the installation key, logging on to the site, getting proper help and going back to the proper pages.

There is no part of Easy Step that deals with Management and Advice costs as a deduction from Investment Income. Had to seek this out in the Forms section.

TurboTax not getting better
It is not wise to buy the Disc which was produced before CRA finalizes all the Forms. The Updates are extremely problematic and not easy to do.
I would either buy the Programme directly from you online in March or would use another provider.

Turbotax basic
They seemed to have changed the way in which you enter the T4 info, however beyond that it seems to be the same as other years/versions which is easy to use and efficient.

some problems
I bought a cd version at Walmart. But it would not load on my pc. Some sort of problem with visual basic. I had to download from the netfile website and then use the authorization number from the cd package. Took a few minutes to figure out filling in some forms.

Tax filed using Turbo Tax
First time user faces many issues and as the ad as well as it is mentioned on the cover, seek help online but from Customer prospective it is not true. Actually it means that the help is only on inputting the data, not helping where to add or not to add. Plus huge wait time Thanks

I used basic and assisted someone else using the online free version. the free version was actually easier to use. there are a few errors in this version. specifically RRSP contributions from Jan thru Feb of 18 are not available.automaically assumed that I had claimed those against 2017. No explanations for many of the deductions and brings up a form that is so tiny that I need to blow it up. Upgrade Upgrade Upgrade. Did I mention that you are prompted for upgrades

OK, but -
The product is easy to use, but leaves a bit to be desired at the "print" stage. There is no means of deleting blank pages from the printing and wasting a lot of paper.

Software problems this year
I purchased the CD version as I have in past years, and I could not load it (I use Windows 10). Fortunately, I was able to download the software and complete my taxes as usual; however, this was very concerning.

2018 Turbo tax
I have purchased this product several years in a row and this year, although ease of inputting T4 information is good, when i go to file the return it wont let me. I keep getting a message that it cant be filed until all updates are installed. But i cant find the updates. So frustrating.

Its Good, BUT ...
My own taxes are a little complex, so I complete them using the Forms method. My son's tax, however, are very straightforward, so I use the EasyStep Method
Both methods work well. The EasyStep method moves through everything well, though there is some minimal unnecessary repetitions. So long as you know what you are doing, the Forms method also works well, though it could be improved with some easier access to navigation options
My primary quibble is at the end of completing your tax return. I use the Review option for both returns, regardless of which method was used to prepare the return. Using the Review steps in finalizing your tax return, you are asked whether you want to save a PDF copy of your return or print a copy of your return two or three times
Why so many times? It just becomes annoying

The program correctly entered an "x" to claim the Climate Action Incentive but failed to complete the claim even though I live in a small town by the name of Mount Albert, Ontario. Because I would not be able to NETFile if I overroad the amount on schedule 14, I now have to do an amended return to make the claim.
