easy
easy to use .. ad to do it twice because I filed it and sent it was gone for a week and realised they didnt send me a confirmation number..so had to do over again

Not As Good as Previous Years
Filling in the forms was difficult and repeated attempts made no difference - Printing all forms for mailing was impossible.

too basic
I bought this for the price (cheap) but when you start using it you see it is designed to encourage you to upgrade because it is too basic, which is annoying. I used a different product before that cost a bit more but did not ask for more money - ever. I will use them again next year.

good price but annoying popups
I purchased turbo tax basic this year instead of my usual tax software. Overall I found it pretty easy to use. There are a lot of "offers to upgrade" that for someone using tax software for the first time would likely second guess their purchase. I was able to turn off the upgrade offers after I figured out that they were just trying to get me to spend more on something I didn't need. Without the annoyance of that, I would have offered a higher rating. Because of the effort to get more money from me with the popups I would not recommend this to a beginner.

Turbo Tax has a few mistakes
Turbo tax did allow me to send copy to the government via the internet without making sure that all my forms were completed; e.g. the form regarding the email address.
In addition, it also was confusing with the screen after it was filed. I received confirmation that it had been filed and then the screen would resort to the previous screen which had the 'continue' button and it was an endless loop.

It (turbo tax) got stuck after entering my birth date, (five times) the way it was asked. Finally I had to close the progam and reboot computer to accept the information before it would let me to proceed with the rest of the filing of tax return!!

Disappointing product
After using Turbo Tax Standard for over 5 years and finding it a good product, I decided to purchase the Basic one this year since I have only my own simple return to process. I was disappointed that it would not allow a transfer of information from 2013, and had to look up the carry-forward information manually. I would not recommend this product, finding it more awkward to use than the Standard one from previous years. I will look for a different product all together for next year.

When you file your taxes together it will always show the combined amount. You have to go back and check what it is for each individual which is inconvenient.

after the opton to save when it saves it says completed and see you next year it doesn't tell me if the netfile has been sent off so I am left wondering until I see my return

Good for first time tax filer
1. Okay for basic income tax filing.
2. Cannot import previous tax year as you have to purchase the standard version of TurboTax
3. Would recommend the Standard Version at purchase time; it will save you money in the end and is more expanded to cover more tax input and fields
4. Use the tutorial if using for first time. The fields and use of them can be confusing

OK, but not what Im used to
Have been using Quicktax for several years and when I went to purchase online the 2010 version I was not able to get clear information on how this Turbotax stacks up to what I have used in the past. It appears that the Quicktax was equivalent to the next version up from this. Basic is missing the previous year import, ability to move deductions from one spouce to the other. Simple but improtant time savers.

It is a bit complicated this time as when i did for the year 2009 to 2012 for the family it went fine and print the required pages, but this time it printed so many unnecessary pages or very few pages.

take the good with the bad
The tax program is good. I was really dissapointed that you have to upgrade in order to trasnfer information from a previous years return. That's just a money grab and thought that was pretty bad. Not sure if I am going to continue using this product because of it. Again, really dissapointed

Your links don't work.

Disappointed. I have used the Basic product in the past and this version is much inferior. No transfer of data from older returns, no step by step through Rental Income, and didn't have the facility to highlight and get more detailed advice.

will never buy the "basic" again!
I have always purchased the program one above the 'BASIC". And now I understand why.....I allowed a friend to convince me to purchase the basic and I feel like I have not gone over all my tax credits etc., and I am not confident in not being audited.
I am extremely disappointed in the lack of walk through that the basic does. It gives no ease of tax pain!!
