too much advertising
When people buy Turbo Tax, they have thought about which version they need.
EVERY PAGE seeks to get the user to unnecesarily upgrade to the next most expensive version. I have no doubt that if I was stupid enough to upgrade, EVERY PAGE would seek to get me to upgrade to the next most expensive version.
I will seek out a different tax preparation package for next year.

This program was easy to use, even though I am an older used and not really computer savvy. I enjoyed the program because it was straight to the point and did not let me go astray. I was also very reasonably price to accomodate my husband and I on a fixed income with a very simple tax to prepare thank you

The interview process was very basic. The flow was not good, and I had some trouble finding the boxes and lines for some of my special claims.
I would not recommend it for first time users.

tweek this
this is not a friendly one. I like the regular one i buy every year. it fills things in automatically and I dont have to print it off to make sure it did things right. I know what i am doing so when reviewed noticed mistakes or omissions which made a difference.

Don't like separate pages for saving/printing
I don't like that they mucked around with this from last year. I ended up printing off a copy for myself when I had no intention to, as they'd changed last year's version around.
I thought that I was done and ready to print, yet I was on the save and print page.
Intuit needs more warnings on that page, so people don't waste paper. Very annoying!!

READ CAREFULLY
Basic is an ok software to use. Good for the price. Make sure you read everything very carefully. The same things that are in easy format in Standard TT, are a bit confusing in the Basic TT software. Overall, for the price, you get to file it quickly.

Too much advertising!
I have a very basic return, and felt that some of the questions / topics just weren't explained very well. And the pop-ups advertising upgrades or additional services means this is the first and last time I will use this product.

Harder then others to use
I used U-file before and it was much easier to toggle between your forms and end review. This program you have to cycle back through every form if you want to make a change. Very time consuming.

OVER ALL PROGRAM IS GOOD BUT THE FONT SIZE IS MICROSCOPIC - VISUAL ACUITY - POOR

cut backs every year!!!!
i am not happy!!
every year there is more cut backs to your cheap tax program. i only need the cheap program but you are trying to force people into buying a upgrade.
this year i can not load last years files!!!!
now i have to type everything over and what is the bonus for coming back to this program if it does not carryover. i will try the other tax program next year!

I have used turbo tac for many years now and only this year can I honestly say I would have trouble recommending it. It seemed very confusing, and less organized than other years. I am sorry to say this as I truly could say in other years I am enjoyed doing my taxes!

I will get a tax consultant to do my taxes next year. It was to complicated for me. It took me a very long time to understand and navigate throught the process. I finally got it completed but needed more experience with taxes. It is not for beginners like me.

Not Easy to Use This Year
I have used this program for 5 years now and found it difficult to use even with the tutorial. It was not user friendly. I suggest testing it on people with no professional tax background but are computer literate and have done their own taxes.
Could not find line 130 to save my soul-went back to the income tab several times trying to find it.
The font was also very very tiny (not because of my computer settings either). Consider the baby boomer population-we need a bigger font -at least a 12.
So convenient for e filing!!!!
Not sure i will use it again next year.

Rental payments
Turbotax Basic doesn't allow to enter amounts to forms like rental payments. I tried many times to overwrite the amount and it was not possible

Time for a change
Annoying ads from Intuit throughout the preparation of my tax return using the Interview format completely infuriated me. Completing tax returns is frustrating enough. I will try another product next year.

Importing Data
I was very disappointed that the Basic version did not import data from previous returns. This was very annoying and meant that I had to manually enter a lot of data that could have been easily imported from my previous returns.

Tried Basic
We've used Intuit's software as long as I can remember. We tried Basic this year. A little cumbersome, we'll go back to Standard next year. But, still use Intuit's software.

Not as easy as it used to be
I used to have no trouble doing my tax return. Once the name changed to TurboTax, from QuickTax, it became anything but quick.
It took as long as manual filing. Also, I didn't find out until the end that I had missed a SIGNIFICANT piece of information that changed my tax return from a deficit to benefit (-11000 vs +3700) !!!

I am requried to run Windows in a virtual environment on my iMac because you don't offer a Mac version.
Continual pop-ups telling me to buy Standard were very annoying. Provide the "Don't Remind Me Again" option.
Packaging is misleading as Basic doesn't allow transfer of previous year's tax information. This wasted a lot of my time.
