ok
I found this program a little bit confusing when it opened up other forms. It was overwhelming. It would be helpful if it was completely guided so I didn't even have to look or enter into tax forms at all.
I like the feature at the end where it checks for problems.

Basic should be elimited
Last year I used the Standard and was much more impressed with it. THe basic is just not enough direction for information. I will purchase the Standard next year. thx

Better than Paper
Turbo Tax is OK, but 2 of the 3 warnings I received were confusing and lacked details to allow me to trace the problem. The third warning was completely off track as far as my return is concerned.

It works
It gets the job done, but it feels like it could be made simpler with a more modern UI. As it stands it's far better than trying to the do the paperwork on your own, but still very utiltarian.

Ease of use
I dont know whether it is the difference between the basic and standard version but I've found the basic version (or the 2011 version) much less user friendly than the standard version (or 2010 vesion). There is very little explanation or user friendly guidance on how to complete my tax entry.
Last year's vesion (standard 2010) had cued me to enter my data in a very user friendly way whereas I have to manually enter my tax data into a form with almost no guidance at the 2011 version.
I'll pay more and go back to the standard version next year.

Turbo Tax Basic
A pretty good program for basic tax prep such as mine. Easy to use and perform spuses return in concert as you go along. The one point I would like to make is that the font could be bigger and darker for ease of viewing by some of us "challenged" readers. Other than that price and product good.. KWW

Good generally
This product is easy to use, however it would be greatly improved if it allowed the purchasers of the 'basic' product to import their prior year tax return as it does in the 'standard' version. The 2011 version is not as clear as the prior year was, as in easy step it just lists a whole group of forms at each step which you may or may not need, prior years just gave you the ones you need to complete.

Semi-helpful
For the price I paid I thought that it would be much easier to use but sometimes the help options weren't in the places I expected them to be and I was hoping for clearer explanations of the terms and values.
It took me longer than it probably needed to to file my return because I had a lot of extra reading to do.
A simpler format might be helpful but otherwise it got the job done.
I would use a different program next year that doesn't cost quite as much.

It's Very Good But.
You need to include in basic steps by steps process on pension splitting. As this feature is very popular particularly with Seniors I fail to understand why it is only included in the more expensive version of Turbo Tax. If you want to help Seniors who are some of the most poor taxpayers and not as computer savy as mainstream Canadians, this feature should be included. I had a hard time including it in my return because of this shortcoming of the program and because you do not provide clear instructions on how to split pension.

Turbo Tax yearly changes
Hi. Did you know that Turbo Tax only will keep up to 3 years back on their software? Don't make the mistake I did as I then had to buy an old year and fill in all of my info again. ON a different note - I do find that the on-line versions change each year and some years have a better 'on-screen' menu that is easier to use than other years. Overall. I see it as a fairly decent software and have found most of their advisors very helpful and knowledgeable. I have now learned how to do our family taxes quickly and efficiently and know what to keep for next year's deductions!

Override is useless
I live in Quebec and my husband lives in Ontario because he is taking care of our disabled grand-daughter in Ontario.
We are both over 70 years old, but only I qualify for the senior assistance tax credit because my husband does not live in Quebec. TurboTax will not let me send the electronic copy of my Quebec tax return because I was overriding the claim for my husband's senior assistance tax credit which he is not entitled to.
This makes the program inconvenient for me because I will have to send my tax file by post office mail.

Did not likethe basic version
This is the first time I have ever used Turbo tax basic and it will be my last. I did not like this version. I did not find it as user friendly as the step up version.
It took me longer to do things with this version.

Basic is Not Good
I used the Basic version for the first time. I thought to save a few dollars as I was only filing 4 returns this year. I didn't realize that it lacked some of the other easy to use features as the next package up. Next time I will pay the extra $15 to get the premier version which I like better. It is easier to use.

Confusing
All the previous year info did not load, ending up with too many alerts, final print to mail had no totals even if $0.00. Not configured for the AI illiterate or non-computer owners having someone else doing their taxes because they cannot afford to pay a professional.

worst experience ever
I have used Turbo tax for a # of years - this year was the most difficult to navigate your system. First the font size on the pop-up screens was so small I couldn't read it. Then later (after I phoned your Support Line & got that changed) the forms & pages stretch beyond my screen & I still can't read everything. I spent a LOT OF TIME attempting to right-size the pop-up & other screens - i was CONSTANTLY CHANGING THE FONT SIZE & HAVING TO CLOSE THE system so I could carry on with my return

Issues with 2022
I have very good experiences with TurboTax in the past but this year either it didn't send or CRA lost my income tax filing.
To add to the insult TurboTax still can't remember it's license key so never, ever throw away or destroy your license key.
