Look forward to when I can stop using TT
During the over 10 years I have been using TT, it has become less intuitive, less helpful and more complicated to use. Last year I used the online version for the first time ever and would never use that version again.
The CD version, while better, has become increasing complexity with reduced option offerings unless you are prepared to purchase the more expensive version.
As I am now retired, I look forward to the day when my return becomes so simple that I can begin to reuse paper again, which was the method I used to file my taxes starting in 1968...

Less and Less Value
Every year more and more features are striped from the software to try to force upgrades.
Pretty shady practice.

Phone support not helpful
Product is not any better than free options, for example, the windows appear in awkward sizes making it hard to see the information and the review wizard is weak. Had poor experience with Customer Service who did not know the product at all and just tried to up-sell me.

CD Bug
The CD I bought had a bug that didn't allow you to get updates and also stopped you from filing without the updates. Had to uninstall and download a new version which tied up my computer, also used as a retail cash register, for an hour.

Needs more info
It did the job but the help feature was useless. The forms were too small to read the explanation of possible tax deduction eligibility. I had to use google to figure out what I was eligible for. I generally use the Standard and love it but basic is not user friendly. If you are not used to doing your own taxes don't buy this one.

First year with issue/problem
I have used Turbo Tax for about 20 years. This is the first time I have had issues. Tried to do my taxes about a month ago with forms route. It would not allow me to say I am single. There was no option on the page. I called and was first told no such option available! In other words, as I was told, single people cannot use Turbo Tax with the forms option. Called again, and an employee gave me a "work around" which worked. As there were lots of complaints online about this issue, I think it should have been corrected immediately rather than weeks later! Am disappointed in Turbo Tax concern and customer service.

no support
When you enter your Pension Adjustment from box 52 of your T4, it doesn't show up on your final income tax return copy and unless you are an accountant, you will spend hours trying to look up why or if it affects anything and then look at every line from there until the end of your return trying to figure it out to no avail - what a bunch of crap

RRSP Credit Calculated Incorrectly For Me
The RRSP section did not calculate correctly for me. This caused me to waste hours trying to remedy. I found that in the box where it says RRSP limit for the year, the value has to match the total of the RRSP deduction otherwise the credit calculated is inaccurate. When I used the actual RRSP deduction allowed from CRA, Turbotax added the difference and generated an additional credit I was not entitled to. For example, if CRA says that $50,000 is available for the year, that is the amount that will be imported from the CRA website. If you have $20,000 RRSP deductions, the tax software uses the $50,000 and not the $20,000 so an extra tax credit is generated on the $30,000 variance. (This was the Basic software.)

previous versions much better
Purchased this product for many years with no complaints. This latest version has disappointed me, not nearly as user friendly as before and reviewing to confirm entries concerns me. Entries to the pull down box were not reflected on the form on review attempts. Changes made to the 2019 version needs some serious looking into before 2020 version. Are there some bugs in this program not fixed????

Worst version ever in 18 yrs
I found the format very difficult to follow, not at all user-friendly. I had to do my return and my wife's as separate entities which made pension splitting more difficult. To input related items from one return to the other, I had to complete and print the first return before I could start the 2nd. When a form popped up to fill, it was too small and hard to read

Problems exists with basic turbo tax
I have used Turbo tax for years and years (when it was called quicktax) ...hummm sadly disappointed if this is the best they can do ...the there was a lot calculation issues especially with RRSP deduction amounts and the correct amounts that need to be displayed on the T1 form ...no real updates or explanation provided with changes to tuition carry forward along with what they could have done... also there seemed to be a real latency issue with forms being updated ...I never noticed this problem ever in previous years ...

I bought the STANDARD version. I was not asked to enter the installation code. This is a first. And the program thinks I have the BASIC version. After many years of easy tax filing, this and last years have had faults.

Getting hard to follow!!
This year I found it hard to use Turbo Tax. There was many forms I had to dig for and had to go to the help menu several times because the information was not in one central place. If next year's version is not improved then I will start paying someone to do my taxes or I will go back to the paper mode.

BAREBONES BUST
Used Professional business until I closed it down. Expected pension sharing, charitable deduction splitting and handy eye charts. Nothing - stuck with repetitive T1032 input on my own. Bypassed T1032. Since we are in the same marginal tax, I am lending G of C $3K until my refund $8K comes in. Not informed that this was a stripped down no frills tax program.

Income Splitting Problem
I purchased the basic tax software instead of the standard as I had only three returns to do this year. The pension splitting process is not an simple and automated process like last years. I had to redo my 2017 tax form to figure out where to input the information and to determine an optimal dollar amount.
