Purchased TurboTax as previous years primarily for the RRSP calculation tool. The basic package does not have this feature which created much more work to determine RRSP contributions to achieve a refund. Tried numerous times to register online with no success.

Previous versions of TurboTax recommended that you save your file periodically as you worked through the return. The 2018 version would not save my file until it was nearly complete, leaving my work subject to loss due power failure etc. The older versions were much better!

Disappointing
way to hard to apply to OTB benefit which I do for my mother-in-law.
Should do this automatically based on income inputed vs struggling to look through.
Should be easier to navigate. I had to know to find it vs the software helping me

Unclear on donations
I purchased the "Basic" Turbo Tax and while I was half way through filing my taxes I was unable to file my donations due to not purchasing the "Standard" package. However, this is NOT stated on the box.
Unhappy.

"Basic"ally a pain

Cheap but very basic
Inexpensive, but not as easy to navigate as standard. Tried it as I have less than 8 returns, but was disappointed in the quality as it lacked ease of use. Would like a better format with a similar price point.

Not User Friendly
It's not user-friendly. Persons who have little tax knowledge will find this software hard to use. There was a critical error - TB did not transfer the income from another province to Quebec form for Quebec residents/taxpayers who did not receive the out-of-province report in the RL-1 form. I had to add manually. Normal people will make this critical mistake and get a wrong calculation of revenue and the amount of taxes for Quebec.

contacting help is hopeless
I encountered a problem downloading my wife's CRA info which caused the program to stall and when rebooted it lost already downloaded info from my CRA account. My question to the 'community' website was not answered satisfactorily because no one had asked the same question!

Disappointed
As a long time user of Turbo Tax, this year's edition was disappointing to say the least. Runtime errors in the actual program made for a lot of wasted time and energy. Then there are things that didn't work as promised or at all ?

To be avoided!
Not as easy to use as advertised & the tables for entering data are extremely user UNFREIENDLY - TOO small. The navigation btw the fed & provincial is also difficult. NO summary for the provincial is available. It took as much time & was as nerve racking as doing the paper forms.

Many issues not seen in prior years
When filing for a couple, the program kept jumping to the wrong return after filling out forms. Also the saving feature used to save as a PDF as the couple but not any more. Also my return at the start was showing a large return (with all the info filled out) and then was reduced by 1/2 for no reason.

worst purchase ever
couldn't get amounts from pension slips to transfer to return despite multiple attempts--even tried starting new return but same result. I am a volunteer for low income seniors and this was a complete waste of my time.

changes did not help
This year, Turbotax made some structural changes, was difficult to follow, no like the other years, I have done what I need to do on follow the wizard, but every single tax I make that was my family only, has some problem with Revenue, all of them has been delayed because were some errors, not fear, and stupid. I've been using Turbotax, never again, my Daughter was after I finish was to received over 3K, was sent a letter to review it, went down to $1,500.00, my and my wife still reviewing, my other two children, still reviewing.

never go basic again.
For years i have bought standard and hoped the basic was at least similar. its not. for basic you really need to know the ins and outs of the taxes and deductions yourself. Standaard andup help you get the best return this doesn't propmpt you about possible deductions and i had to search for places to enter investment income slips etc. really not great if you want an understandable and helpful way to do your own taxes

Most confusing yet
Very frustrating. When you say "go to ... ", then why not have that available ? Still trying to figure out if I'm eligible for some things. You just disallow those entries. Can't you explain ? Spend a bit of money and get some GOOD software people. The ones that put themselves in your customers shoes, then program accordingly.
