Poor program
This is the 5th year that I have used Turbo Tax (previously Quick Tax) but the first time that I used the Netfile feature. It was not intuitive, difficult to find explanations from both the Help button and the Turbo Tax website and generates far too much paper once the return is printed. My file this year is 4 times the size of my file from 2012 when I copied the return and mailed it. Very bad for the environment.

I preferred last years edition to 2013. I did our taxes in less than an hour last year and it was my first time using it. I have no idea whether or not that I entered our property taxes in the appropriate area, as there didn't seem to be any area clearly marked for property taxes! I even went to the help area....It DID NOT specify the exact area that it should have been entered, when you own a house and live in it! I spent a few more hours trying to figure this out & finally got fed up looking for it and not get straight forward answers in the "Help" area!

Do not enable Live Community
If you enable 'Live Community' from the Preferences menu, get ready for a world of pain.
Enabling the feature will cause the app to be constantly busy, presumably checking online, thereby not responding to mouse clicks. I found that I would have to wait approximately 45 seconds to a minute before any button would become active, and then the same amount of time after said button was clicked.
Obviously Quality Assurance was bypassed for this feature as it's so terribly obvious. Lame.

Hard to Find Good Help
I was doing taxes for my retired mother and line 115 was not simple to do and answers online were sparse. The package would no longer be of a good value if I had to pay for live help. I ended up trying something and hoping for the best!

Not the greatest program. It
takes a while to get used to the quirks and
not a lot of help unless you pay for it.
Will try other programs in the future

I found making payments confusing
Have no idea it netfile worked.
To do a payment you said you can use Plastic, GUESS WHAT IT DOES NOT WORK FOR VISA !!!
Created a Plastic account for nothing.
Why the box pay at bank online in five days?
You pick another choice I assume you do not have to pay online?

Not overly happy
The whole reason I purchased turbo tax was to file electronically but when I got to that section it wouldn't let me choose that option. As a first timer to file a tax return it was easy to use except for that part. Now I have to mail it.

Won't file? Really?
Everything was good until I went to file it. I save it as a .tax document and then go to file it. Tried numerous times and it wouldn't work. Kept saying the file I uploaded was invalid. I know I clicked the right one. Same file name as it requested, but no. Seriously?
They want us to file taxes yet we can't do it and "have to call between business hours" I don't have time for that. That's why I chose the turbo tax. Completely useful until that point. You can try ten times, it will always says the same thing... wow.

Confusing

Inconsistencies
Ex: Tax Return Enclosures List states items to be attached yet printout for mailing does not include some of the mandatory items leaving me to go searching thru forms to locate and separately print those missing forms - very annoying and suggestive of other possible quirks in the program that might come back to bite me. I have little confidence in this program and will return to my former software next year.

preferred the older versions
Been using Turbo tax for many years and the only thing I liked about this (2013) version is how easy it was to netfile, prior to that I was printing and mailing them cause I got tired of trying.
However this version I found more difficult through the walkthrough.
I'd like to see 2014 the best of both.

REallly disappointed
I used the Basic return last year and had no difficulties. You must have changed things because I do not feel confident - kept asking to do better just upgrade. Last year I tried a few different figurings and this time it just messed everything up. I gave up and accepted the first attempt.

Not as good as last year
Last year was the first year I used your product and found it super easy and understandable. This year not so much. Hard to navigate and find what I needed easily. Will think long and hard next year as to what I use

Basic=you get what you pay for
We found the basic version of Turbo Tax really buggy and hard to use. It's worth it to pay the extra $10 for the better wizard/version.

Lesser product this year
Took 2 tries to install the software. Plus, it needs to activate every time I start the program.
Used to be such an easy program to use up until this version. It's OK, but very frustrating.
Low marks. Maybe I'll try another product next year unless improvements are made.

Worst Year Ever
I buy this so I can Netfile my return. The simplest thing of claiming a dependant, it won't let me do. I CANT NETFILE. This was worthless to me this year.

difficult to use if native and first-time user
This product has you move from screen to screen to get answers.
The help menu is useless for native people and you wind up having to go into the help and search the TurboTax browser online.
Easy to wind up accidentally erasing or repeatedly saving copies of your file. Took a lot of my time up just to do one file. Would have been faster and easier to have filed on paper!

Too many nags
Does the job, does it well. But there are way too many nags to upgrade the program, buy that whiz bang service. Just do your job and get out of my way.
After a few years of UFile, going back to it. Too annoyed by the in-program commercials.

not impressed with the lack of basic features
I was disappointed to see that the Standard version is needed for transferring from a previous return. This should be a basic feature in any tax return. The $20 difference in price between Basic and Standard certainly is not worth paying for this one simple feature.

problems
The program inserted $14,000 of income from a form it claimed I filed in a previuos year. No such figure could be found in any of my previuos filings.
I was unable to erase this fiction and had to redo all of the forms again to correct the problem.

Needs work
This took a long time to use. The Ontario Benefits fields could not be filled in and there was no indication of when or how they could be filled in. Going on despite this, I eventually received a warning that allowed me to fill in the property tax field. I accidentally clicked Continue instead of Additional Home and had to trash the whole file because I could not correct that mistake.

disappointed
This was my second year with Turbo Tax. I found last years version was much easier to navigate. I was disappointed that although I have an "easy" return and only file 2 returns with the program I can't access my previous years data without an upgrade to a product I really don't need except for the convenience of that access. So I'll be looking at what else is out there for next year. Maybe I'll even go back to doing my own by paper.

worst purchase ever
This program is becoming more annoying each year. i understand the condensed T1 general, but if i'm supposed to include the ON-Ben form and it isn't printing out, i end up printing multiple copies of the whole thing trying to get it anyhow. waste of time and money, less helpful than it used to be.

too mixed up this year
I have been using their software every year but this year I found it confusing and hard to move from area to area. Often found myself searching for where to submit something.
Then I did save electronic version in .tax format and it would not get accepted by Netfile because they said the format was not compatible. I finally gave up and printed it out and will mail.
Sadly I will not be buying next year's version

Really hard to set up
I had to go through hoops to install the 2012 version, finally calling for support, who had me download a whole new file. I think they should have tested it more thoroughly before releasing it.
