Not That Great
I believe most people would fall under the category of a Basic Tax return. Usually the people that are making the least amount of money, tend to have more medical expenses. You shouldn't have to buy a more complicated return (that costs almost $20.00 more), just so you can claim your medial expenses. Also, it shouldn't cost you more money to have to buy a Tax Return CD, just because you don't have a credit card to pay less for it when you filled it out on line.

Filing prior years
Have to pay for returns for each prior year. Disgraceful. For each year, i have to enter all of the same information again. Not happy. As well, it won't let me print the first four pages - have to print the whole darn thing.

a disappointment
I have used Turbo Tax for well over 15 years , and this is the first time I have been displeased with it. The number of returns was reduced, and if it were not for the fact that my adult children are poverty stricken, we would not have had enough returns for the family, as we have done in the past. As well, the program would not let us use the Easy Step, and we found the forms confusing and difficult. Very disappointed.

Can not save the return after an update installed
You finish your return but the system will not allow you to save to the hard drive. Turbo tax has had this problem for the past 4 years That I know of but they do not fix the problem of provide a work around.
You have to search the web to fine the solution. On the turbo tax site it informs you it is a windows problem but no solution. When it late and your trying to find the solution it become very frustrating.
You must to go into your window setting and allow permission for turbo tax to save.
Once you correct this the software works fine.
Turbo tax team fix this problem or provide a work around Please!

Worst purchase ever
I have been doing mine and my wife's taxes for 50 years and would find it easier to go back to manually completing the forms. I'm sure the confusion in completing has cost me more than $5000.00 this year.

Turbo Tax Basic - TERRIBLE
Showed would import previous years, DID NOT. After purchase, in program it states it does not so have to enter everything.
Font EXGTREMELY small, hard to see selections.
Sections mandatory, such as square footage of home not shown as mandatory, have to go back.
Overall, the savings of $15 to get the Basic not worth it at all, huge difference, terrible.

not so great
I usually purchase the standard turbo tax but this year I purchased the basic because it is less expensive and I only have three separate returns to file, This version for some reason will NOT allow me to net file which is very frustrating since I do not own a printer.

Multiple glitches & useless customer service
I've been a TurboTax user for years, but this is definitely my last. Despite having a basic return, I encountered several errors, including defaulting to Forms interface despite selecting EasyStep Interview, populating the RSP deduction line with the value for contribution room, and refusing to accept a value for the digital news subscription deduction. Plus it kept repeating the same, unfounded warnings over and over and over - truly annoying. When I finally got through to "support," I was told (1) to try entering info. manually instead of importing (which I did, losing much time in the process - but the problem remained) and, (2) that despite receiving a defective product, I could not speak to a supervisor or receive a refund. Shameful.

Netfile doesn't work properly
Netfile made a mess of filing spousal returns. Even though used separate access codes for each and confirmation came back for both, the reference code was the same for both spouses and wife's return wasn't filed. Trying to netfile again, can't do it, software doesn't allow it. What do I do next??????

Frustrating Experience
I was forced to buy a 2016 package and was not told before buying it, that you could not netfile 2016 returns. I could have downloaded forms from CRA for free to submit it myself. This service was supposed to speed up the process so I could finish all to 2020. Don't buy this when you can use forms for free from CRA website and mail it in, like you have ot do anyway on Turbo Tax

Principle Resident Worksheet
I am very disappointed with the inability to remove this worksheet. It is preventing CRS from accepting my return. We did NOT sell our residence. The help was no help at all. I will not purchase this software again.

TurboTax File corruption
Your saved file will likely corrupt and can't be restored. You will get a "tt403 error."
This issue has been a problem for years. I recommend using different tax software, but if you are working on your return complete everything and print it all in one session. Do not count on your file ever opening at a later date to finish it.

Poor format
i don't understand why Turbotax changed the format in its entirety from the previous year. The pop-up forms are very small and difficult to read and in some cases wouldn't accept the values, kept giving error messages. I will not use this software next year if the format will remain the same.

disc not compatible on mac computer
I like to buy the discs bit they aren't compatible with Mac OS. Disappointing. The auto fill feature gave incorrect information so I had to manually input all my cra info. Another disappointment. Please make the discs compatible for Mac OS.
