Worst Purchase Ever
TurboTax Basic 2017 version is terrible. A "basic" version is supposed to be simpler and more user-friendly than the other more advanced versions. It turns out, this was the WORSE of all the versions I have tried so far. I could list all the problems and bugs, but the list would be endless. I wasted money with this garbage.

I was under the impression that my tax return had been filed when i completed it on April 1st its not until July 16th and I called the CRA to find out my return was not sent. Whilst its probably a user error from me. Its also probably from a very poorly designed UX, Its caused me to miss filing my return late. Not cool wont be recommending your products.

I hate this program
To hard to find out where I can print out taxes for the CRA. It goes on and on about forms. I hate this program. All I want is a print button for the CRA copy. I don't need to see all the hog wash.

problems and buggy
it was missing a number in the key code and kept having error script ... it required two phone calls that took forever. I had to uninstall and get a new version emailed to me and it froze on me while sending. The people on the phone were nice, but I waited a long time.

USE STANDARD
BASIC BOUNCES YOU ALL AROUND AND DOES NOT ASK ALL THE NESSARY QUESTIONS NEEDED. IT DOES NOT EVEN CARRY FORWARD AN ANSWER FROM ONE SECTION TO THE NEXT, EXAMPLE IF I SAY THE PERSON IS WIDOWED IN ONE SECTION YOU STILL HAVE TO ANSWER THE SAME QUESTION IN OTHER SECTIONS.

I have used Turbo tax for about 5 years but this is a error ridduduled cop it kept showing a script error report which I had to close every time a new window came up. I never had this problem in other years.

Defective Program
Worst ever. On practically every tax entry, I had to click twice to get rid of two pop up screens that said there was a script error in the program and did I want to continue.
Very frustrating but not worth returning to the store to set up my registered version on their PC and try to prove the issue in order to get another copy that could have the same fault.
I am a long term Turbo user and will not be coming back. There seemed to be no one to call at Turbo about this issue. ( ie no phone numbers on the packaging). I guess Turbo is afraid to take calls on defective products! I am obviously choked because it took me twice as long to do returns for my wife and brother..Sorry Turbo, but I believe there are others out there that have the same fault. You have been good in other years but you let me down!

The program was very difficult to use and follw. It skipped all oever the place, and confused the user as to what he was doing.
Can't Intuit make anything that is simple use?// Had trouble printing my return also. And ooand on it goes. Disgusted.

Poor product - save money at your peril
I mistakenly opened Foreign Income category in Other Income. This triggered form T1135 - Foreign Investment Verification Statement. I realized this did not apply to me but the program had already automatically filled in my personal information. The program did not allow me to cancel or edit the form and I could not efile the return because it wanted more specifics on my non-existent foreign money. Eventually a TurboTax help person was able to separate Form T1135 from my return and I was able to file my return and not file T1135.

Not helpful as it was in the past to follow easy steps. You need experience to the taxes this year. it is my last year, no support you are trying to make more money by offering professional service, I rather have expert to do my taxes for cheaper comapre to buying turbotax and paying you.

Truly Disappointed
I am truly disappointed! I have been using Net File/Turbo Tax for many Years. Hoping that eventually I could just hit a button and things like my name , address could be filled in. NO I went to CRA My Account and it told me that My Grandfather's name was incorrect. I double checked with my Uncle and he told me that I had it correct so I will Not be rushing Back to My Account I'm not sure how my Grandfather's name changed since he passed away in 1952?

waste of paper
I have used turbo tax many years but was very disappointed with it this year. Lucky I know what I am doing and can go through the forms. It did not close the forms that were not applicable and not used and printed them even though I tried many time to close them. There was no reason to print them e.g. foreign property - no, sale of house - no. Why print them?

Most horrible software I ever used
Guys, you have so many bugs in the program and it is so user unfriendly. I am not sure how you are going to survive with this crap. The previous version was much better. Have used the program for many years and never had a problem until now. Your online version is even worse. Gave me two different amounts for my refund.

What happened there?
Huge bug where first tax return is not saved. I have the Netfile confirmation number but cannot locate the saved tax return. Another family member also experienced the exact same issue.
Given how long this program has been around, it shouldn't be too difficult to update it annually without breaking it.
Also, how to turn off the annoying autofill prompt each time the program is started?

I used Turbo tax in April. The program says that I used it to file 2 returns on line which I did but Revenue Canada did not receive them and I had to resubmit them today. Very poor performance. I really feel this is not a good thing and will not use your program in future
