Cheap Buggers
This overall is a good program....have been using it for years....this year I bought the Basic because I only have basic inputs and the program no longer imports your data from the previous year......

Exclusions
The layout and access is good. There are sections which should be included in a basic form.
such as medical and income splitting. As a seniors programme it is very restrictive.

nasty experience 2014
turbo tax would not accept our property tax for 2014. we put it on my spouses filled in the dialog box but it would come up in the form. Again I tried my tax form and did not populate the on bens form. then the husband/wife combo did not help us - we had to it individually because it had us owing tax instead of a refund. it was nightmare experience, hair pulling time.

waste of $$
this is the worst thing I have ever bought.
the system is NOT user friendly, in fact it simply doesn't explain the forms and how to use and what happens when you do!
I tried to print the form BEFORE I netfiled, but now it won't let me file electronically only print.
I am so disappointed in this product I will tell everyone not to waste their money and just do it yourself.

BASIC
Although a past user of TurboTax for several years I found the advertizing did not notify me that there are several deductions not allowed in BASIC TurboTax.
Medical esp's, Charitible donations, carrying charges, and Travel Ins. expenses. Also PayPal is not available as a means of paying for an upgrade to STANDARD edition. To top it off, it doesn't recognize my printer!!

Software is virtually useless every year, overrides block it from use for international residence and generate many errors - can't drop personal basic deductions - etc etc for any of the products

frustrating
online survey link doesn't work. where is the info as to how many returns I have filed already, used to tell me each time I did a return. every year this product is getting worse and worse, you have made it more confusing and complicated. you say that you make changes based on customer feedback.... no one I know likes this program anymore, because the changes are not for the better.

Never again.
This company will pick your wallet clean if you have a complicated return.
Too many different products to choose from.
I do not like being prompted to buy insurance while doing my returns.
No option to update direct deposit info unless you fork out more money.
I will not use Turbo Tax again.

Last Time
I have used TurboTax since 2010, Standard version. Before that I used Quick Tax; it was a better program in every respect.
My return has become very simple. So I used Basic for 2013. Highly irritated with suggestions to upgrade throughout Basic. Failed to transfer basic information. Small fonts.
If you want more detailed review, I charge consultant fees.

what happened?
hard to navigate - can't go to page you want - extremely confusing. interview mode is too slow (have to flip through all pages, can't go to specific one)
Can't import info from 2012. Therefore, no reason to even buy your product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was no explanation for why this program won't let me Netfile my return.
What took 20 minutes last year took me 3 hours.
For some reason, INCLUDING $7500 of TUITION made my return DROP from $1000 to $7. Therefore, I excluded tuition! Turbo Tax
Keeps asking me to upgrade, where you can get this the same thing for free. I'm done with this. I paid for it for 5 years in a row, and it's time for me to be 'free' from Turbo Tax, and get some 'free' products that work as good as this one.

Program lacks simplity
Program only works when computer is online. I dobn't like to be online when I am just working entering my information as i don't trust the sytem. For basic workings ther program should be allowed to work oof line.

When doing your income tax that is what you want to do not be continually interrupted by Turbo Tax. I used this Turbo Tax last year and was very happy with it but this year I am totally never going to buy Turbo Tax again due to ALL the interruptions.

Too Much for Too Little
If I have to access the web in order to get something explained in simple language, Turbo Tax is lacking. No useful explanation of pension income splitting and it's limitations. To many attempts at trying to sell or push additional add-ons. Also stop packing a simple CD in a huge box in an attempt to make us thing we are getting something for our money. It's an unnecessary waste of resources.

Piece of Garbage
I might as well have just gone through the paper forms myself. All the basic version does is essentially lay out the forms on screen so you can type into them. There are no easy to follow steps, it is extremely difficult to navigate the options at all, and at the end if you want to go back and change something you have to have to switch to the forms method and find the right form yourself. I realize that they are trying to promote the tax help center but this product is just a piece of garbage.

worst tax software I have ever used
I found that this years' version was not easy to use, there was no feedback between the forms and the preparation wizard, it was lacking in the basic functionality (from the previous versions), and filled with annoying advertisments for products that I did want. All I needed was a basic preparation tool, and that is what I thought I bought based on last (and many previous) years, don't keep trying to up-sell me; if I wanted more functionality, I would have bought it.
next year I will be using a different product from a different supplier.
