Simple Tool
If you have an uncomplicated tax return and you are familiar with all of the credits that you are eligible for and have all of the necessary slips and receipts then there is no reason why you should pay for the service unless you find yourself with a question as you are working on your taxes. Even then Turbotax offers you opportunities throughout the "interview" process to upgrade should you find that you do need help and at very reasonable cost. For a student or someone just out of school/a young professional you should already have knowledge of how to file your taxes properly and this is a great tool to use.

Excellent but...
Overall very good system. All the fields are there and if you go from start to finish in a straight line, it works as charm.
BUT... If you want to go back, review or alter stuff you did before, it quickly becomes a mess. Going forwards or backwards between the sections becomes confusing as the system skips steps or moves back to somewhere different than expected, you you have to "dig" through an entire section to reach some specific field or info you want to review and the visuals and hierarchy on the left column are very easily confused.

More Payment Options
As a first time user, I found the software easy to follow and efficient. However, being forced to use a credit card is not a modern option for payment. Otherwise, I would have upgraded to the premiere instead of using the free service. Good program. Thanks.

Mistakes in Turbo Tax
There were two mistakes found in two different places during the entire process. I have kept the screenshot for one mistake where that mistake occurred. For the second mistake, I can walk through and show how that mistake comes up that sort of wastes time/could be fixed so that it does not happen. Had there not been that mistake, I would have given it a 10/10. In my opinion, if I can show Turbo Tax where the mistake is, I should be given a cash reward for finding that mistake. If Turbo Tax is interested in saving its reputation, they can contact me, and I can share that screenshot with them.

TurboTax 2018
Previous years using Turbo Tax was great...filled out the info, and if you didn't have enough income, then the filing was automatically calculated as free.
Not so much this time, splash screens continually interuppt you to purchase, along with Scare splash screens, or call to action screen about audit's, and selections.
If you have been using the free version (basic income tax or fixed income) without any complicated calculations, because you're using the "free" version, you are required to fill in all your information again, instead of TurboTax importing from previous returns....
I get that TurboTax wants to make money, but for those that have less than the Average Yearly Salary, the process should be simple, quick and painless, and this isn't.
Paying to upgrade isn't going to change my info, it's the same regardless, If a low income person get's audited, it's a pretty simple process from both sides...
Other than that, the "info" screens could be better also.

Works
Pretty easy to use, lots of ads to upgrade though, which I found annoying. However, it was really helpful for me. This was only my second time submitting tax forms. It included some nice tips and even the address to send it too. So I think I'll use it again.

Easy to use!
Turbo Tax is so user friendly and convenient! Didn't realize it would have the option to download my information from CRA, which made the entire process faster and a lot easier for less experienced tax filers.

Relatively Easy to Use
Relatively easy to use. Couldn't find the student loan interest entry spot using the search function; finally found it by accident, but not sure how. There are about 10 'Continue's at the end that just seem to go on forever before actually completing the Netfile! But it was free, so good value!

pretty good

Still the best (though...)
This product is still the best for getting your taxes done in Canada...in fact, I don't know a legitimate contender unless you are filing a huge/and or incredibly complex return for which you want to go to one of the big accounting agencies.
HOWEVER: As much as I found there to be some great steps forward this year, I also found the 2017 software to be more confusing than past years, and had to flip back and forth between screens more than a few times.

There are typos on one of your pages. I cannot remember which one, but "you" instead of "your" was used twice, along with the omission of periods at the end of each of the sentences except the first one.

Good smooth software, some tips needed
TurboTax Free is easy to use, user-friendly and clean and neat to read and follow. The step by step works very well, there are definitions and explanations and you can always go back to edit/check/review previously entered info. you need to be aware though that once you have not received a confirmation number of your NetFile, YOU HAVE NOT SENT IT IN YET. i'm sitting here waiting weeks and nothings doing, only to see that its wasnt submitted. I think turbotax should guide us more there. anyone else filing just be aware.

CRA still hasn't received
i am checking back after two weeks since filing and CRA still does not show that I have made a return or that it has received one. I can't see any options in TurboTax to find a confirmation number or the current status. It just offers me to make a new return. I hope it is on its way to the CRA.

Saved me a mental break down.... Maybe
I think this program saved me from losing my mind filing taxes for me and my spouse. It was very easy to use and straight foward. However, it may have put one of my incomes into my spouses and I could not change it. I tried many times and I do not know how to fix this and or if it really did make this error?
