Pretty Easy Fast and Simple
I really enjoyed using turbotax online for free. It was awesome connecting my CRA account to this website and getting the full value of my tax return done. I would recommend this to all of my friends

Product changed from last year
The work flow in the online product has changed and is no longer as intuitive as it was before. Frustration level definitely higher than the last few years.

TurboTax Free is an excellent product for me but it still needs to be made even easier to use/navigate through the various forms. On another entirely different note, it needs to be 100% more clear/obvious at the top of the main page (maybe use bold and highlight in red font) that YOU CAN'T FILE USING THE CRA NETFILE UNTIL AFTER FEBRUARY 26, 2018. At least I've completed my return early so all I have to do on February 27/18 is to just go back into Turbotax (login to my account) and send in my already completed return to CRA NETFILE.

The website was kind of hard to use at first but once you get the hang of it it is fairly easy to use. I would recommend this for fast results

Good but couldn't pay
The overall TurboTax program is simple and straight forward to use which was perfect for a first time filer such as myself but when it came time to pay it wouldn't accept any payment options I provided which was a major pain. Hopefully that's been fixed come tax time next year because it'd be a shame to not be able to just do everything here!

Free and easy
Simple system, step by step guide for each section. I only needed to put the info from my T4 in so it was completed in minutes.
Not sure how simple it would be if I wanted to claim other credits / transport costs. I'm sure it would be as easy as the rest.

Activation problems
I bought the CD version of Standard Turbo Tax and used it without problems for three returns. However, when doing a 4th return, I could not get my activation code accepted by the activation server, getting only a "communication unsuccessful" message. When I tried the recommended Telephone Activation procedure, all I got back was a useless error code "900" from the computerized response system. I was forced to use the On-line version of TurboTax to submit the 4th return, which worked fairly well, but should not have been necessary. Also, I can no longer access the 3 earlier returns, which really annoys me!

Excellent Value
Walks you through the process of doing a tax refund. Having used the software for many years, the online free version is great for young people doing their first return, or anyone with simple employment / rrsp scenarios.

All good except one thing.
No complaints for doing a simple old guy's return except that it tried to tell me it didn't qualify for free when trying to import info from last year. I entered it manually & when I got to the end it went through for free. It's not a lot of info to do manually but it makes a perfect score not possible this year.

Not as simple as paid - but simple enough
Having used the paid version in the past, I thought that I'd give this one a try. It is simple, but not as beginner-user-friendly as the paid Standard version. But, hey .... it is FREE. And. it does everything that it needs to do for a basic return.

Very simple!
This year, I was somewhat intimidated by filing my own taxes. In the past, I've had it done by professionals, or by my siblings (who both have some college training in finances). This system was very easy to use, asked all the right questions, and caught any errors immediately.

Easy Tax
This is one of the easiest tax returns to do. I filled out my return, and filed all within 10 minutes. It took me longer to print it out, than to file.
