NetFile Didn't work
NetFile didn't actually work so had to print out my taxes anyways and mail them in. Since I have no printer I had to email them to someone else to print making this extremely inconvenient.

Free Turbo Tax
Great program for simple returns. However there is no help for questions such as, "where did Turbo Tax save my PDF downloaded copy".
A little frustrating.

Confused
I entered my tax information two different times and got two different refund amounts despite all the information being the same.

Didn’t purchase
I used the free option but I’ve uses way better apps than this I had to answer several questions more than once and I kept being prompted to buy the better product I’d use a different one if you can but I guess t got the job done hopefully right.

Easy to use
This product has always been easy to use. This year though, every step in the program was trying to sell me an upgraded version that would cost me. It should be as in past years that if you choose the free edition, don't try and upsell unless the customer has entered something that is not available in the free version. It slows down the process and is very annoying. If this continues next year, I will find a more efficient program. I have been using this product for at least 9 years and it would be a shame to have to change now

Free but challenging
I definitely prefer to use a program that uses an interview format. This one was awkward as you had to select the forms on your own. Still it is free so I value that.

very helpful
However should be more visibly publicized that you have NR software. I called Revenue Canada for help to find software for NR and I was told there was no software, you just had to do it manually. I could not find where to add some of my NR forms. The whole process took longer than I expected.

Issues with App
App not very intuitive, because of a glitch I thought i submitted the taxes when I didn't. Too many recommendations for add ons, I should have to click a dozen times that I don't want a certain product.

Filing details missing
Unable to see or enter all medical expenses options. Vast majority just labelled Other and left to customer to learn elsewhere. No place place to specify different claims diabetic versus medications.

Turbo Tax 2018
Free - which is good. Seemed to be a little more complicated than completing 2017 returns from what I remember. Navigating backwards and forwards was more time consuming than I would have liked. Asks you to upgrade more than once which I didn't like. Overall, great, I competed 2 returns and filed electronically for the second year in a row.

A bit confusing
Difficult time navigating through tabs as it skips areas and auto fill caused a bit more confusion but I believe I was able to complete my tax return properly, and for my first time ever!

Good overall, but...
Unfortunately I could not fix two errors that kept on appearing throughout the declaration. I became a widower last year, but I had been separated from my wife for the past seven or eight years. We always submitted independent declarations, and we both appeared as separated. By indicating this year that she had passed away in 2018, the system demanded that I entered her information, which we had not done for several years. Too bad, as I could not file electronically, which reduced my enthusiasm in using yhis application.

changed for worse
I use TurboTax for so many years and this is the first time when I have to say not the best easiest experience. Too many menus and useless dropdowns. After returning to saved info from previous entry it was a nightmare jumping from link to link to try to file it. I end up with 3 separate confirmations telling me my submission was successful. It looked like it submitted my return 3 times. Messed up program.

glitch
Turbo tax kept wanting the number of months of disability or retirement on my T4A (P)....I do not get a disability or retirement pension. I get a survivors pension...line 15, not 14 or 16. Due to this, I could not file on line.

Not bad
It's easy to use and it allows you to file for free, but if your taxes are simple and you just need the free version, it pesters you too often to buy things. I was offered to make a purchase an unreasonable number of times for such a simple return.

Distracting
Constant showering of trying to get me to upgrade or add to or buy now etc. very annoying as much or worse than watching commercials on TV. Very distracting from the job at hand, my purpose for being there to file my taxes. If you must pitch upgrades do it at the start, I'll note my preferences and then leave me alone & assist me in filing my taxes. I will be looking for a new provider next year.
