OK but Not for the Unaware Common Man
Well its simple to use but they can leave you in crossroads in between as they would like you to upgrade but even when you upgrade they would still leave you at the same place for example Statement of Qualifying Retroactive when completed
Lump-Sum Payment 6851 etc ? they will ask you as a legal obligation.
Anyways its easy its connected to CRA by NETFILE.
Can be improved a lot.

Disappearing Tuition Deduction
I had a substantial tuition deduction entered but the tax return summary failed to detail it. Throughout the summary process, the tuition was never listed again, and almost felt as if it had disappeared without explanation. I'm sure there's a reasonable accounting explanation for this, but for a taxes layman, this software should have explained this, considering it's designed specifically for the tax layman.

Constant advertising
Turbo tax is constantly advertising its paid services including ones for external companies. Also it is unclear how to submit by mail, I cannot find a way to get a clean pdf copy of my return. I expect that as a bare minium for tax software.

Very good product
I found that this product is very easy to use however the RRSP section is confusing. Also, for some reason, I kept getting kicked out with the statement that I already had this open in another window, when I didn't. So I had to log in several times in order to finish.

Do not use this one.
Filed with Turbo Tax 2 years ago... very simple then. Quick and clear.
This 2017 is confusing, endless annoying price offers when they say it is free, print a copy with large words DUPLICATE..... over your numbers. Not impressed at all. Will no longer use this service.

Difficult to figure out how to NETfile
I had entered all of my information before NETfile was open and pressed net file. I received an email stating my payment was successful and that this does not mean that it has been NETfiled. When they were finally open, I thought I would have to log back in, and there would be a button right on the screen saying complete your net file. However, there wasn't. I had to look through forums and questions just to figure out how I was supposed to finish NETfiling my tax return.
I finally figured out that if you press the back button and select the option of finishing my return or something like that, that it will take you to the screen where you can compete net file. HOW CONFUSING!
I think if you complete your information BEFORE Netfile is open, that either the software will automatically send everything on opening day, or you should log back in, and be able to press a button saying "complete your NETfile process?". It should also state on the side where you can view a summary of your information, whether the NETfile process has been completed or not, because this was incredibly confusing.

If there are 'errors' in the filing of my taxes which prevent me from efficiently sending them off, the program should take me to where these errors are so I can fix them, rather than having to sort through each section trying to find what mistake was made where... which is impossible.

Heartbleed
TurboTax is fast and easy and so convenient. I am concerned about the Heartbleed bug and I'm wondering if https means anything anymore? I recommended TurboTax last year but this year I think it should be a choice that the individual has to make. Do you want your info in cyberspace because it is vulnerable there. If government files are not 100 percent secure then what is?

International Resident Claim
TurboTax was the best software that I could find to complete my tax returns. There were still some points which were difficult to navigate as an international resident - mostly to do with inputting addresses and phone numbers which weren't recognised. Other than this the steps were easy to follow, and the "help" symbols gave good tips and information. If one thing could be fixed up it would be allowing for international information to be submitted without it indicating that it is "wrong".

Good and Bad
Been using TurboTax for years, it has been streamlined and gotten easier in some respects. Definitely appreciate all the automatic calculations, but get tired of the repetitive nature of the questions. If I say no RRSP - why does that section then come up. And I definitely don't appreciate using the free version for low income only to be told - sorry have to upgrade for every little thing (for eg. public transit). And I don't like that you suggest upgrading to take advantage of the BC Sales Credit, but if you don't, once you continue you find it was incorporated anyway - so you would have wasted your money.
But most importantly, I have a MAC and therefore can't buy a standard version to use for the several family members I help, so I have to use online version and pay for each individual return and it adds up to more than buying one package.

20,000 or less
Turbo Tax is a wonderfully designed tax software system. With helpful tips, online Q&A, and understandable tax jargon. Before you file your confident in knowing it's been done rite. The only area I would change, improve is the restrictions. If your total income is 20,000 or less there should be no need to upgrade no matter what you have to enter. It would be nice to get a full version offer that helps from such a renowned, and accreted company. Other than that 100% pleased.TY

not for the average tax payer with investments
dealing with investments is not easy! The program assumes you know the meaning of a lot of terms and procedures familiar to a tax expert but not to the taxpayer with average knowledge.
It is very difficult to find where to change your password in this program!

good value, requires some patience
this is imo the cheapest and most user friendly way to file your taxes, but can be frustrating. for example, only works properly on Internet Explorer, it is not compatable with other browsers. I still really like the program, it is just not always entirely user friendly. Still, I use it every year, for my whole immediate family.

Turbotax not free
I thought I qualified for the Turbotax Free by its description of not having any donations to claim. As soon as I entered my husband's donation info, I was asked to upgrade to a pay edition. I knew that there would be a charge for his return, but I did not expect one for mine.

Could not process change in marital status
Yes so, this would have been a great service but it could not process that my common-law relationship ended in the last tax year. I also struggled with this myself in a personal capacity but not as much as turbo tax, that would not allow me to choose single AND that my marital status had changed without also naming a CURRENT(?) spouse and when i named my prior common-law partner (as I otherwise could not move forward) it created an error loop I could not recover from where it rightly told me I could not be single and have a current spouse - I KNOW THAT TURBO TAX. I will have to file by paper mail and hope CRA understands what Turbotax could not. Don't recommend for those who have gone through a serious break up in the previous tax year, I did not need this reminder.

Why is it so hard to find the free version?
Turbo Tax / Intuit does it's best to hide the free version, then tries to convince you that you need to upgrade it. But if you just have a T4 and some RRSPs, the free version is all you need.
