changed too much
the changes this year made the product much worse in my opinion. they don't have the index along the side to be able to easily move between sections (hitting the back button a million times sucks) and not being able to enter my wife's and my stuff concurrently sucks

never buy the on line version
The online version is the most user unfriendly software I have ever used. I would never buy it again. Difficult to try to print results, can't go back to do things. Wish I could get my money back

Unmitigated disaster
I am absolutely certain beyond a reasonable doubt that my tax return was filed incorrectly by turbotax, due to the extreme amount of advertisements that needed to be blocked and ignored. Turbotax also prohibited me from filing my T5, and claimed I owed over $6K. Filing my taxes should be a free process with the option to pay for help, not a literal minefield to prevent my tax return from being held hostage until I paid like last year.

Predatory
Predatory, user-unfriendly, convoluted and messy. Also broken software, not updating crucial information properly and I think intentionally convoluted to encourage people paying(far too much) for help that ought to be free. Be ashamed of yourselves.

Worst tax pkg ever.
Bugs which are glaring only resolved by going to group chat to resolve. Many hours spent by many victims trying to use this obtuse software package. Don't buy it what ever you do. Way better to do manually or use the CRA on line package - for free!!! Also watch out. Tubotax trys to extra bill every chance they get. Watch your download package does not go from "standard" to deluxe or the extra charges kick in. Very disappointed.

final tax return
The final tax return is insensitive! It is hard enough to do a final return let alone all the stupid things that you need to go through that is not valid for a DECEASED PERSON!! Like the "lets get ready for next year". My Dad is DEAD there is no next year. And asking if he will recommend this to anyone? Again...this is a FINAL RETURN??! So disappointed in the lack of respect....

Forms Dont Work for Work from Home
I wasn't able to figure out the work from home credit based on the form from the government and work. I didn't think it was worth the update on TurboTax to speak to someone about their own form not working. Had to submit without this credit.

Inappropriate for my needs but can't get a refund
I have been using intuit products for years. My mom passed away and I had a hard time getting her paperwork together. I wanted to netfile her return to avoid late penalties and amend it later. But the netfile did not go through and the paper return was incomplete. Intuit refused to give me a refund. Poor customer service.

Worst experience with taxes
I have the simplest taxes ever, except the free version doesn't allow you to pay back your First Time Home Buyers Plan ($367) and doesn't allow you to input your medical expenses. So I chose the $40 one the included support. Suddenly I was forced to go to the Premium Package or start over. So I had restarted my entire taxes again with the free version. I was then forced to go to the $20 package. I got out of that, but suddenly a popup appeared on my screen trying to allow another person to access my computer and someone from China called me saying she was support. I immediately thought I was being hacked. I hung up and restarted my taxes AGAIN, somehow managing to find the actual free version and therefore now have to pay the $367 FTHBP and get charged for not doing my taxes correctly and don't get to include my medical expenses. The time it took to do my taxes was four hours since I had to restart them several times and find the actual free version. I was frankly concerned that this was a scam. This was a much worse experience than last year using this same program. I wish I could vote no stars at all.

Needs Much Improvement For The Poor To Do Taxes
Sadly, terrible continues to be the watchword for those of us living below Canada's Unofficial Poverty Line! Like all such tax services, this service rewards the poor who are "drop out" citizens BUT it severely punishes the poor who are "drop in" or active citizens within Canada. For example, this active senior citizen would just love to report on his tax form that he earned $2 in interest on his Canadian bank account, BUT, oh no, I will be charged by this tax service $40-$80 if I ever did that! Another example, this active senior citizen would just love to report that he made a $10 donation to two political parties, BUT, oh no, I will again be charged $40-$80 by this service if I ever did that! And what if I ever donated $10 to MS Canada because a parent died from MS, BUT, oh no, that will also be a $40-$80 charge!!! ... This is sickening and probably violates at least a principle or two of the Canadian Charter of Rights And Freedoms. .... In short, you have to start charging on the principle of the TOTAL INCOME of your user and NOT on the principle of the greater number of those income sources and income expenditures! ... SHAME ON YOU FOLK!!!

Its a useful tool for the savvy to file their own taxes. I use it to file my taxes for free, and happily have been for the past 4 years, which is very nice. However, Turbotax can absolutely suck it. Its frustrating to avoid all the barriers where Turbotax wants to sell you one of their products. As a taxpayer im making this review for other taxpayers - “learn how to file your taxes yourself, without purchasing any of TurboTax’s products, OR, hire an accountant.” Turbotax is not your friend. That is all.

Getting more expensive
I used to love using the turbo tax app to helped with my taxes cause it made it so easy but now it has just become a money grab most features that were free the previous year were locked behind a pay wall. I will be doing my taxes somewhere else next year

Hidden fees for full access to tax returns
Having to pay to fill out certain tax forms to get more money back is ridiculous. They don’t give you full access to the Canadian tax forms and are limiting your return amount unless you pay to access (outside this system access is free). Ie. if you want to claim your charity donations you have to pay them. I have used their paid tier in the past when I was self employed, but no longer need that extra assistance.
Other services don’t charge you to access the full version of the Canadian tax form. Will be switching next year.

Not a Great Experience
I have uses this for system in the past with no issues.
This year after paying my fee there was an error and I couldn't send my taxes electronically. Turbo tax told me it was a CRA issue and CRA said it was a TurboTax tax issue. Customers service at Turbo Tax was not helpful, didn't offer to find a solution or a refund. It was not a CRA issue as I ended up using H &R Block online and was able to file electronically with no issues.

double billing beware
I bought the software online, unlike what i have for the last 10 years. I used to purchase the CD for approx $40. That included up to 8 returns, this year I used the online version only to be slammed with billing at the end. I called turbotax and they did refund the initial purchase but I ended up paying more for the 2 returns than the original cost of "up to 8 regular returns". I do my childrens refunds as a favour, which was easily covered in the cost of the CD. Why pay for 8 returns only to be billed again per return...SCAMMERS

Price is getting ridiculous
I had $5.00 in charitable donations and turbotax would not let me claim it without having to upgrade to a $56 plan!!! I deleted it from my T4 and only lost $3 in refunds. The fact that you can't claim minimal basic items without paying an INSANE upcharge is absolutely preposterous. I used to be able to buy turbotax for under $20. Its not even worth that anymore in my opinion. You take a program that could have my taxes complete within 10 minutes and drag it out going through all these useless question and answer sessions over and over. Keep it simple, keep it decently priced. Have you never heard the saying "less is more"?

I felt like the experience was designed for people who just like clicking buttons and are scared of words. Most sections could be reduced to one page instead of 23 repetitive questions that only make it harder to keep track of what I am answering. Honestly, most of the check boxes could be one page and then just ask to fill in the numbers from my slips. Perhaps it is just because I have a new account so they want to hold my hand the entire way, but it was a uniquely painful experience.
