Keeps On Improving

Easy To Use
I started using Turbo Tax last year and if you're used to computers and being online and just doing anything online. It's easy to use, and every year you do your return, you ultimately just learn more and more about everything they have listed.

Turbo Tax Process Review
I have to use both the US and Canada version of Turbo Tax to do my taxes. Both are easy to use, but when I used the Canadian version, I had to re-enter my medical expenses and donations which I had already inputted into Canada's tax return early on in the process. So it could be my mistake, but in the US version it automatically saves. Also going back and finding the deduction section was challenging. I preferred a drop down of everything on the left side with a collapsable folder structure. But that being said, it was easy to use and I was able to do it myself.

Fast and practical
This isn’t very user-friendly, but I appreciated being able to file my tax return myself in a short amount of time. In the end, I felt confident that I had entered the correct information thanks to the final review section.I liked that I was able to download my T4 and Relevé 1 directly from the Canada Revenue Agency, as well as from Uber for my second job.

Frustrating experience in 2026
It took forever to let me file this year.... that extra week cost me a lot of money! I do not like that I cant edit employment expenses without going through 20 screens of employment info each time.. Please make a direct link to edit just that! My province of business wouldn't save I had to enter it every single time... Otherwise very good. I have used TurboTax Canada since 2015? and used TurboTax United States for a couple decades before that. I'm disabled, married filing jointly with 3 kids, and 2 small self-employed businesses & I own my home.

2024 Joint Returns
2024 returns were more difficult to navigate between my return and my spouse's. In addition, my spouse is self-employed, Turbo Tax does not understand that there are 2 distinct filing dates in Canada for self employed people and salaried wage earners.

Don't overwork the changes!
I have been using TurboTax for years and find it helpful and well set up. But each year things are tweaked, and this year it seemed that some information was not as obvious as in previous years. For example, it was not always clear that carry-over amounts were already included in the calculations. Categories for deductions that I had used before had to be added manually. Overall I'm happy with the product and will continue to use it--but if it ain't broke, don't fix it! :-)
