Great tax package
I used to use a less expensive package, but I switched over when one year I simply couldn't get it to tell me what it thought I was doing wrong. It kept taking me back to a page where there was supposed to be an error, but I couldn't find one. Super frustrating, and I don't need more frustration when it comes to tax preparation. I find TurboTax to be clear, simple, efficient, and – in fact – I found it calculated my deductions better than my old package. I eventually did figure out what the issue was with my original package and did a side-by-side with TurboTax. I actually ended up getting a couple of thousand dollars in deductions the old package somehow didn't calculate. TT more than paid for itself.

In and out, quick and easy
I myself have a business on the side, which makes for a potentially complex tax return. But I'm able to whiz through the question-and-answer process fairly easily.
If your personal tax situation is fairly straightforward, then it will be an even faster, easier process than my own.
Save time and money.

Non traditional Living Arrangements
If you live in another province than your husband, the split and entry does not work. I will get an audit because on the federal return, his income is entered, but on the Quebec one, he doesn't have a line 275 where they are asking for Quebec income...

Turbo charge your filing
A very easy step by step tax return process that only requires one to organize documents before beginning, follow the online prompts and honestly answer all questions. Most favorable results achieved through automatic best strategies regarding income splitting, allowable exemptions and deductions etc. Continuous record transfer from year to year makes for easier prep each year
A 4 year user- I would highly recommend this product above any other service or instead of trying to do the work manually.

I think Turbo Tax is great. My only complaint is that sometimes information is carried over from year to year in a way that is inaccurate. I have particularly found this with RRSP contributions that were reported but not claimed. There also are some unclear directions around RRSP contributions being claimed from previous years.

Easy to use
I found turbo tax to be the easiest tax software to use. Anyone can use it because of the easy step-by-step instructions and "interview" questions that help determine what type of forms that need to be filled out with your return. I have used this return to claim basic employment expenses, business expenses, rental income and school tuition and scholarships. Turbo tax made filing my taxes easy!!!

Ooooohhh !!!
I have been a TurboTax used for many years. In this latest version, usability has declined. Too many opportunities for missed steps and requirements to loop back and enter skipped data. You need to check your workflow. That notwithstanding, still a great product (aside from the frustration).

Great except ...
The product worked quite well once I was logged in. The RRSP tool and pension splitting optimizer were helpful.
The one negative was that I had problems logging in three or four times. Twice, I had to change my password so that I could get in. Grrrrr

Worthwhile Tax Package
I have use Turbo Tax software for the last 10 years and I
have found it to be user-friendly and efficient. The software is a complete package, as it will address most
tax scenarios, whether the tax filer is an individual or company. Plus, payment is waived for low-income filers, as an added bonus. Satisfaction guaranteed!

Some issues this year

Solid tax-prep software
TurboTax is easy to use, comprehensive and takes much of the work out of tax preparation and filing for couples by placing the deductions automatically where they'll provide the most benefit. Best of all, if you use it over multiple years, it saves information from previous years and automatically imports required totals, which is a real labour-saver for a small business owner. A good value.

Print function for NetFile
Unless I missed it, Turbo Tax, once it has filed the return to government and a Netfile reference confirmation number is issued there should be a print function at that moment.
This would be the only complaint that i have.

Best Version Yet
In a nutshell - super easy to use. This years edition was fast, easy to find answers and really well organized. The only issue I had was that it created two entries for my home business and I had to delete one and re-finish the other. This might be because I timed out during the session, not sure. But other than that, it was pretty simple and straight forward.

Would Like to see Forms
I would have given 5 stars in ease of use but found it TOO EASY. I prefer to see the actual forms as I go along because looking at the forms answers questions that the program does not AND helps me verify that the program is actually entering the amounts on the proper lines. If we assume that programs never make errors, this is okay. I prefer to confirm the amounts, just to be safe. The government, I'm sure, won't buy, "But the software did it that way!" as an excuse for errors. It would be nice to be able to use the forms method on the online version.

Mostly Smooth. Great phone help
This is my first year using Turbotax in Canada. It was easy to use as I remember in the US. I used the phone tax advice twice. It was very helpful to navigate the confusing parts and/or the parts that were different from the US tax code. I will definitely use this again and pay for the tax advice again.

Worthwhile
Several times program did not transfer info to spouses return - occurred when transferring a percentage of $ to her return. I forgot to click on a T-slip for her return, assumed program would automatically identify that the applicable T-slip was not open on her file, did not notice until reviewing returns. Suggest auto warning in such situations.

A few problems
This is the first year I have been a bit disappointed. I started a joint return, in error. When I realized the problem, I could not correct it, but had to start a new return. From the comments of others, this is a common problem so perhaps TurboTax should review its set up. I am using a Mac and the online version of Turbo Tax. It would not allow me to enter charitable donations for 2013. I saw that others had the same problem, so it may be caused by a Mac update to Maverick. Whatever the cause, these issues sap confidence in the reliability of my return.

Relate to Quicken
In Quicken my tax related categories begin with the tax form line #. I thought I was making life easier.
When completing the self employed expenses (T2125) it really would help if you included the tax line # in the box describing an expense so that the user does not confuse, for example, lines 8810 & 8811.
Remember, we are not all accountants. Our mental description of an expense is not necessarily the same as yours.
I also missed the chance to print out the file copy before NetFiling so that I could check my #s.

Comprehensive
The best part was using the advisor at the end of the service, extremely helpful. I did find it sometimes hard to find where to go to though the walkthrough is very thorough. I would appreciate being able to click on a Schedule and move to that from inside the program.

Use it every year
This was my seventh year using TurboTax and its predecessors, and I can't foresee ever stopping using it. This was my first time using the Home & Business edition, and it fit the needs of my particularly complicated tax situation this year, including contract work. I used the included tax advice and software support a few times, and even when the representative didn't have the complete answer for me, they pointed me to the right phone number to call to get the answers I needed. Any problems I couldn't solve through TurboTax were due to faults in the system, not in the product. I'll be using it again next year for sure.

Easy to use!
We've used Turbo Tax for 5 years and it's great. The only things I wish they would change are make it so you can jump to a page based on the Schedule number, and make it so when you owe it doesn't say "Your Tax Owing" and then a negative number. I thought I had a refund! The "owing" a negative amount is kinda misleading.
Loved being able to chat with a tax helper. Short wait times and very helpful!
