Get your taxes done quick and easy
I had a hard time using the Mac version of the previously-named TurboTax, though it did do the job. It was a lackluster port from the PC version. But having moved over to the online version, this is no longer an issue and works a lot better. You'd do yourself a favor by migrating to the online version compared to the desktop. Works just as well, you can save where you left off and continue later and it's very secure and easy to follow. I used the Business & Home version for my freelance income and it goes quick, especially if you've saved your information from past years. For people with more straightforward tax situations, I imagine it's even quicker and easier than for me.

someof the drop down menus the info was hidden and off tothe side of the window of the drop down.
example when choosing the type of capital gains:
in the drop down list it showed shares mutual funds etc, but the drop down list was so small that not all of the info was showing.
like i would see:

point was is that it was almost impossible to choose the correct one it was lucky that just enough info was showing for me to choose it..

Easy to Use
My income was low this year and turbo tax didn't charge me to file my return which I really appreciated since I will need that money to help pay my taxes. Thank you Turbo Tax. I wouldn't want to do my taxes without Turbo Tax.

Very Efficient
I found the step by step process and explanations easy to follow. The only thing I would like to see is if there was a way to also have some of form initials open for viewing along with the name description. I found it a little confusing when I was looking for a form and not a description to locate what area of the return it was in. Overall it is a great product.

Online Awkwardness
I have used QuickTax for a long time on PC. I used a Mac this year and needed to file online...great! The only problem I found with the online version is that it is awkward to navigate through the pages...no tabs to jump between forms, and hard to know what information is going where...you are pretty much at the mercy of the order of questions. I found the web version to be far more time consuming than in past years, and that is having a half-decent handle on how to file. Be prepared for a few headaches.

Somewhat confusing experience
My overall experience with Turbotax for home and business was confusing and took a lot longer than I anticipated. Granted, this was partially my fault but I felt that Turbotax could have put a lot more effort into making the questions asked quite a bit more understandable to the average person, particularly the business side of things. Overall ease of use was excellent.

Thought as a first time user you got to try it for free as per the button said, took about 45mins to answer all the questions to find out in the end you still needed to pay for the "preparation" ..

Almost perfect
Very easy to use for those who do not have much experience with income tax. The step-by-step questions make it very simple. However, for those who have more income tax filing experience, you might find it frustrating that you can't just choose the line that you want to go back and edit if you have missed something or find an error later. You have to walk through all the questions in each section to get to the information that you want to edit. It's a small price to pay to have a product that is so complete and simple for anyone to use.

Great product for self-employment
Great product for myself and spouse. Easy to understand questions and quickly finish taxes. My wife has self-employment income, and the business forms are very user-friendly with TurboTax. Takes approximately 2 hours max, but well worth the price and time.

Never Going Back to Paper
I was always hesitant about using a program, assuming it would just be a place to type in info and save me no headache from the paper version. I was very wrong! Taxes are on longer something that scare me after using Turbo Tax. It walks me through every step and helps me find things I never would've otherwise. No math, no questions - it's great!

Great with some improvements needed
I love TurboTax but there are some elements of the help functions that could use some improvement. All of the technical elements should be addressed when asking about eligibilities. I get confused as to whether I actually qualify for certain deductions or am responsible for certain costs.
Other than that, a quality product!

Have used it for years. Self employed and find it's the best option especially considering all the special write offs and stuff for self employed. I can adjust amount of expenses as I go to make it work the best.
Only criticism is I don't like the online version now that you can see forms view. Bring back the forms view please!

Good value, minor flaws
Used TurboTax Home & Business after previously using Intuit Business Unincorporated (retail) and Quicktax before that. Wizard format is useful, albeit clumsy to navigate. Be aware that it will only save the fields once you complete the section you are in, and if you jump around a lot you may find yourself redoing a lot of work. Timeouts - ie where it boots you out after being idle for set time - are needless irritation as they will also cause you to lose the page you were working on and will add to # of redos. Help section could be improved, though even the best software is not a substitute for a tax accountant. Still, even if my review sounds negative, these are minor gripes and I already know I'll be back next year (though I might go back to the retail version)
PS dev please fix or document the T4E 'box 14 is sum of boxes 15 17...' warning as that is not how the gov't sends them out. Had my wife in a tizzy about her mat leave

Decent Tax Software
Overall I like the Turbo Tax Home and Business product. Only concern I have had the past two years is I run a home-based business, and the software only prompts me for personal information. It takes me to the end at 'Review', then I have to manually go back and find where I can enter my business income and expenses.
