System did not work properly
When preparing the 2023 T1 tax return, it was found that the tax program does not calculate the alternative minimum tax for high income nor does it ask the user if this step is required. The net result was a assessment by CRA reducing the refund by $10,000,

Over priced
Turbo Tax advertises reduced rates, but then they never provide the coupon code. It's over priced, requiring more complicated and expensive forms, even though not necessary.

Not the same
When reviewing self employed data, there's no "menu" or 'bus summary" to take you direct to an expense. You have to start from business name, registration, etc. You used to be able to go to a summary and click on the relevant expenses. Wastes a lot of time.

self-employed
I usually download Turbo tax but this year decided I would just use their site, Normally costs me around $22. Using their site, costs me $65. I have a very simply rental property but was not given the option of which product I wanted to use.

unfortunately ....
I bought the upgrade unfortunately the help was not help at all. I was not able to get the assistance or deductions that I need and deserve. I will have to call CRA. Oh well, I know the government will treat me better than Turbo Tax

You led me to buy a product I did not needed.
I should have used the Premier version for $45 each, but as in the past I used the self-employed version, this year you never gave me that option to choose the premier one. The minimum option and the least amount I could pay was $65 for the self-employed version again. I am not a self-employed, I spent $40 as a couple more than I should. This is just wrong!

Shouldn't have had to use Self-Employed
I normally love Turbo tax and it is very easy to use, but this year it charged me to upgrade to the Self-Employed version because of rental income, but I have not had rental income for 6 years! Apparently when you import data from a previous year it keeps the settings and will not let you delete it, even though I selected "no" to rental income the last 5 years! Very frustrating and costing me more to file than it should. The same thing happened to my daughter as last year she had self-employment income but does not this year. The forced upgrade is infuriating.

Database error in Medical Expenses
I entered a large number of medical expenses and then decided not to claim them. I removed the check mark for claiming medical expenses on the medical expenses start page but the medical expenses were not deleted, which is a database error. If the key does not exist, then the details should not exist either. Having to delete the medical expenses one by one is tedious and a large defect in your software.

Change your charging system
I prepare my taxes w partner for ease. But that means I have to upgrade both our packages instead of just mine to report rental income. That is just a completely unnecessary expense for me and you should change how the upgrades are charged so that you’re not stealing my money for a service I don’t need. Fix it for next year please.

Recommending turbotax with MANY caveats
Turbotax is geared to the US market, which is infuriating especially as all of their reminder emails are US focused for US issues and deadlines. There are NEVER any email reminders geared to the Canadian situation, issues and/or deadlines. Turbo tax frequently asks if you want help or assistance but that function is pretty useless -these are people in a call centre in India that really do not understand the tax technical and other issues so cannot offer real assistance-you would be wasting your $ asking for upgrades for assistance. It is doubly annoying as they stop you at many instances asking if you want to upgrade - tick NO - you will waste time and money dealing with these people. I tried that once a couple of years ago and thankfully backed out from paying more as I realized that my queries had more to do with how they had configured the software setup, how to work through the program and did not have anything to do with technical tax issues. The call centre people do not have a clue about the structure of their software set up or program- you just have to figure out how to use it by yourself.
It does the job by compiling a Canadian return and seems to be up with the changes each year in the tax technical issues and you can efile through their program but that is it. Do not expect anything else.

Pretty good but some issues
It is fairly easy to use Turbotax but there are some things that are confusing and wording could be clearer in a few places. One of the biggest problems however is that the Quebec tax slips are not entirely downloaded and there is no warning about this. You have to know to look at your Quebec slips carefully or else you will have a much bigger than normal tax bill.

Rental income
Rental incomes are now treated as self-employee. I think it's just too expensive for the simple reporting.

Pricing
I was not self employed this year but the software wouldn't allow me to take it out. Therefore, my husband and I both paid for self employed returns. I asked the community website but no help there either. Changes should be easier to fix

Version Problems
Wouldn't let me use the version of TurboTax that I needed and defaulted to the Self-Employed version no matter what boxes I checked. Haven't needed the Self-Employed version for 3 years but I end up paying for it every year because of this. Costs me $50 extra. Very frustrating.

Forced to upgrade
They year I was forced to upgrade to enter my 1 rental property details. They also forced to upgrade my spouse's package even if she isn't an owner. I had to pay an extra 45$, same a someone self-employed

Too many changes and unanswerable questions.
Each year things look different. For ex: in past years of the self-employed person's return, the vehicle costs show in the CCA section, but this year it doesn't. For some reason this year it also plays around in the Partnership section although this is not the case at all. I don't know why, or how to fix it. This is annoying.

The product is not intuitive enough, it does not prompt and update your filings automatically for you when it finds savings. It appears to be kept intentionally more complex than necessary to try and upgrade you to premium packages.

Disappointed
The self-Employment T2125, it is not accessible, you have to go through all the questions to get where you need to if you need to review or make an adjustment. No longer user friendly and no longer easy access to various portions of the return. I liked it better prior to these changes.

Not sure what wizard at TurboTax decided to make time-dependent pricing but, while an interesting concept, the implementation was horrible. There is nothing worse than trying to get information about what something costs and struggling to do so. Prices go up April 24th. Yeah, well, sure, then put by how much IN THE BANNER.

Why offer tuition tax credits that prevent netfile
Entered both spouse's tax returns and when it came time to Netfile, one of us had eligible tuition tax credits to enter. An error code was received that stated the figures did not add up and we received an Netfile rejection. Followed the step by step instructions to ensure the numbers balanced. They did and it still failed on attempt #2. Tried to contact Intuit for assistance and received a virtual assistant runaround with no clear answers.
Process seemed simple and straightforward, until it didn't. I entered the same information last year and it worked okay. Checked support page and looks like we are not the first ones impacted in such a way. Looks like we get to mail one of the returns. Disappointing result for what appears to be a known issue.

Cash grab
Requires paying same for both partners even if only one needs higher account and other does not.
Rental Income all these years was part of premier plan. This year moved to even higher priced Self-employed plan which does not even make sense.
