Disappointed this year.
I am honestly very upset this year. I love turbo tax and it is usually great to use. However, I think its absolutely ridiculous that I have to pay an additional $60 self-employed fee for my husband to file when HE DOESN'T OWN A BUSINESS AND HIS SHOULD COST HIM $0. I even called customer service and confirmed... Just because we filed together and not separately? Give me a break. Next year we will file separately for SURE, but it was way to big of a hassle and I'm too PO'd to go back this time after it was all done after 3 hours of work.. Plus I already went through all my receipts and business expenses and documents and can't just remove him, we'd have to both start all over. This overall experience was a 0. You're only barely getting a rating of 2 because normally I like Turbo Tax a lot. But paying an additional $60 because I have a business ( that is just from my home I don't make much money from anyways) is dumb. But to pay ANOTHER $60 for my partner who DOESNT EVEN HAVE A BUSINESS? is just insane.

It forced me to upgrade to self employed when all I had was a T4A slip. It also charged the upgrade fee to both returns even though one of the spouses was not self employed. A real unfair money grab!!!

so buggy
I would hit the Continue button and get sent back several screens. Then I would be given warnings that were completely incorrect. Get it together and do some user testing.

Unneccesary Expense
Because my spouse and I file our taxes together, but only I had self employed income (for which I received a T4A, and had no expenses to report), BOTH of our returns were automatically upgraded to the Self Employed version, thus incurring an unwarranted expense in the case of my spouse.

Worst experience ever
Turbo-Tax Self-Employed is simply not calibrated for those with rental income. Was taken through entire process at least six times before locating correct Rental Expense pages. Kept posting two properties when I only have one, and assigning inputs randomly to each.

Do not file together
It was not great filing together as you had to if one of you needed a different package both had to pay for that package. For example, we both had to pay for the self-employed to file together with TurboTax. I am self-employed and my partner is not. This was frustrating.

CD version on Windows is far better
If you are versed in completing your own self-employment T2125, then you will be frustrated by the Easy-Step interview format which, for example, does not include a space for you to specify Continuing Education or PD other than "Conventions". Also, there is no mechanism on CCA additions to specify percentage of Business and Personal Use, so you just have to put in the Business percentage amount, but on the PDF copy this appears as 100% Business, even if you've done the mental calculations to input the correct Business proportion in the on-line format. I think this invites a CRA audit. Also, there really isn't need for the Self-Employed version, as TT gives poor help for the T2125 (see example above) but they want you to pony up the extra money and block you from proceeding when you indicate you have self-employment income. This is unethical and misleading, no value for money.

Very bad this year
I have used the CD version of turbo take for over a decade. I used the online version and it was horrible. Hard to use. Hard to find the forms. Just a mess.
Plus it told me I must mail in my return and did not explain what I must send.

Too Expensive
When doing a tax return for a married couple, which is done together, you are charged $49.99 per person, which is too expensive as it is being done together. The online version does not give the option of form mode - which is missed. I don't believe that you are getting your monies worth. It would be nice if there was a way to allow different fees - our adult children use our turbo tax and their tax return is very simple.

Confusing with T4A
I have used TurboTax in the past, and it was simple, however this year I had an additional T4A to submit for other income earned. Was VERY confusing and misleading to apply this, as the options weren't clear and was hard to distinguish that this was NOT my personal business, rather a one-time gig. But Turbotax automatically upgraded me to Self-Employed and made me fill out business expense sections that were not necessary. Because the Talent Agency that paid me is in Ontario (I'm in BC), it complicated things further by not allowing me to NETFILE.

Repetitive
Repetitive questions, answered but they come up again, completely annoying. Entering self employed expense was a long horrid process. Need simplicity like a fillable form, keep it like you have Business Use of Home fillable lines. The page by page with one expense line is awful! Waste of my time,

Disappointed
I've used TurboTax for over 10 years and don't recall ever being prompted to upgrade and buy additional services so many times throughout the process in years past. I had to upgrade for what I consider to be simple tax scenario like having a T4A form. I received an email offering a $15 discount if used by a specific date but couldn't figure out how to actually get the code in order to apply it.

Still a work in progress...
Stability is way better than ever but the download of T slips is embarrassingly poor. It's hit and miss, needs to be attempted many times, downloads don't complete in time and you need to try again. I finally got all slips downloaded BUT in INTUIT's wisdom, they filter out what appears to be duplicates, but they're not. I had to validate each and every T5008 slip (over 300). Not efficient use of my time.

annoying
The search tool is useless. Everytime you want to change one thing, must go through every screen in a section, which could be dozens of pages. Menu constantly collapses when you are trying to find a topic.

Had to Pay Double
TurboTax was much more confusing and restrictive on entering the info. Also had to pay for the Entrepreneur package twice because I did the wife's return together even though she is retired and has no business. Very disappointing and frustrating doing taxes this year. Looking elsewhere next year

I feel gouged!
I used TurboTax for 15 years or so, and this time I feel like they gouged me on price. I had a T3, and was unable to save it until I agreed to pay more - essentially, to fill in a box. Nothing of value offered for doing this, so it feels like a asking for more money because obviously if you have a T3 you can afford more? Then I have a small income from a side business so - pay more! There is nothing complex about this, I can't claim any deductions. So again, no value, but forced to pay more so I can enter a single number. I'm very disappointed and won't use TurboTax for next year.

Confusing charge
Only my wife needs a self-employed edition, I don't need one, but I also got charged when we filed a tax return as a family. Once we upgraded to the self-employed, we got nowhere to change back and had to pay to proceed. It's not fair and confusing.

Price more than doubled
The price for Turbotax more than doubled for self-employed folks. I'm not happy with that.

Add-ons to enhance income
Everthing seems to have changed at TurboTax. They want to chage for every add on such as self employed workers and those with investment income or expense.
Then they duplicate that expense against the spouses return as well. C'mon guys, you used to be better than all that. Will search for a new provider for next year for sure!

Disappointed this time
Been using turbotax for years. Inexplicably this time I was required to upgrade. This year there seemed to be a lot of adds for additional services. Bundle them appropriately and offer them once.

super slow to navigate through
really slow to click through screens. seems like it jumps back and forth a lot and the screens don't render all at once so you think you're clicking on a button but then the screen refreshes and the button moves. took me almost 5 hours to do my taxes because of the waiting around.
