Ok but lazy software
It does the job, but...
Doesn't properly load Quebec Releve 1 information, especially income (wrong amount) and taxes deducted at source (was not entered at all, significantly increasing taxes owing before I caught the error on my own).
Doesn't automatically apply the 40% discount despite bombarding with emails.
Upsell more than a used car salesman. It's desperate and annoying.
Force an upgrade to self-employment even though self-employment needs are simple and were previously covered in the $30 edition.

Suckered
Filled out my taxes online and got hammered for over $200 in fees for three simple returns. Costco's packaged offerings should have made that possible for less than $100. Sucks that I get extorted from the company to which I have placed years of trust into.

Continue to extract payments
Even though I had a simple data input for self employed income as a free lancer,
Turbo Tax sprung a surprise to seek a payment.
Nothing new, Turbotax knows such business practices aren't customer centric.

rip off
There was no option to adjust the type of return we filed. We were locked into self employment even though we aren't self employed. We ended up paying more to file because of this, and having to mail a return in, because the location of our business, which is closed and had nothing to do with this year's taxes, was located in a different province than where we currently live.

Horrible Experience This Year
This year's versions of TurboTax was not a pleasant tool to use. Very unintuitive and very difficult to go back and check aspects of the submission prep. Nowhere can you find a listing of T-slips auto downloaded form the CRA so if you don't check a category good luck finding a missing document. Somehow preparing both of our children's tax submissions, my first child's T-slips ended up being logged in by second child's return as well despite having already completed that and submitted. A frustrating year using TurboTax despite using the application for many years.

Dissatisfied
I have used Turbo Tax on CD for many years and loved it. This year I mistakenly bought the online version and found it really lacking in everything that appeared on CD. Help was useless, it didn't answer questions in any useful way. I will never buy this version again. I tried to access this on program on my other computer and it couldn't be done. Printing was impossible until after you file. Seeing forms was impossible before filing.

Having used the program for many years successfully, this year it would not upload my T4s (which I know how to do) and made many basic errors. It was also harder to move around and adjust. I was surprised how poor it was this year.

Very Disappointed
I have always purchased the deluxe online version of Turbotax, and now all of a sudden I can not claim my self employment income as I have for the last 4 years. Part way through my return I found out that now I need to upgrade to a Self Employment version for another $60. Not even a credit for the $40 I already spent on the deluxe version. I don't know why you changed except for screwing over your customers and the money grab. I will no longer recommend your product.

Frustrated with Unexpected Changes in Premier
It's incredibly frustrating to discover that rental income support has suddenly been removed from the Premier version this year. On top of that, the experience is even more confusing when previously purchased licenses are not recognized, and I'm prompted to upgrade through a pop-up window to a version that isn’t even compatible with the license I already activated. This lack of clarity and unexpected change is making me seriously consider alternative options for tax filing next year.

online self-employed version is terrible. There is no schedule similar to form t2125 for the self-employment income to show you the income, expenses and net income in 1 place. You have to take numbers from various pages and piece them together yourself.

Wish they wouldn't have changed
I have used this product for the past 25 years. This years could version only is just terrible. Using it is not intuitive, the help feature is bad, no hot links to help on what is needed to be entered. I don't like that the only option is to save my return to the cloud, I am not able to save a copy of it on my computer. The whole experience was horrible and if they don't bring back the local computer based option next year I will be looking for alterintive options.

Worst Purchase Ever
I have previously used the desktop versions of QuickTax and TurboTax, and I really like those programs. This year I had to use the on-line version of TurboTax and it is a brutal program. My taxes took at least twice as long due to the poor interface and challenges to using the program.

Something changed for the worst
I've been using this software for years and used to be happy with it. This is year it did not go smoothly at all. It used to switch seamlessly between both people (married couple) but not anymore. It asked questions about rule changes in 2018 that weren't there last year. The Start button to file didn't work until I signed out and back in again. This product has completely gone downhill.

Poor upgrade practices
Software works well. But, every few screens it asks if you want to upgrade. The 'no' option is in a muted colour and the 'yes' is large and bright. One accidental click after button fatigue and there is no option to undo your action, nor does it ask you if you are sure. When I called to ask them about the error, the could not fix centrally and the return had to be restarted with the lower plan. This was incredibly redundant and inefficient with my time. The software was a worse experience than in prior years, I felt this year was a bad experience compared to what otherwise has been a great product over the years. Do better Turbo Tax for next year!

Terrible Tax Program
New tax program is not user friendly and very over-priced considering only 1 out of the 2 people are filing for a small business. Other tax programs charge a business tax program only for the person that has the business and not the same price for the spouse.

What has happened? TurboTax used to be so easy to use. Now you can't even look at forms or compare to previous year until done. I ended up paying an extra $60 after buying online Deluxe after wanted to see a rental form, eventhough not used, was still charged. Will be looking at other programs!!

Changes for the worse
The program used to be so user friendly, I could do 5 returns in no time. Now the changes that they made not only make the program harder to use, but they don't even work. Took me 10 tries to figure out how to trick the program into allowing me to add all of both mine and my wife's tax information.
This was done so that you get frustrated enough that you have to pay for the upgraded program so that you can get online help. It was bad enough when, myself as a part time actor was no longer allowed to do mine for free, now I have to pay the business price for myself and for my wife who does not have a "business".
I am definitely rethinking using this program next year unless they go back to the old program they had that actually worked.

Disappointed
My spouse had a very small amount of self employment income, I did not. Yet, TurboTax forced me to pay $60 for the self employment rate instead of the $21 for the basic return. I had already bought the standard return package and they did not allow me to use one of the returns for myself nor did they give me credit for it. So, I am out $40 plus had to pay the additional $120 to file our returns.
