Could not apply Scotiabank Discount code tried
Tried multiple times to apply the Scotiabank 20% discount code (am a Scotiabank customer). Ultimately gave up and paid the full price of $60 (self-employed) x 2. With everything else we're going through in terms of being taxed to the teeth, being able to get the 20% discount would have been a great gesture

Paid Twice
I'm self employed and my wife is full-time salaried person. We filed our taxes together with turbotax and I chose self employed, went throught the whole thing and at the end I realized there is only the option to pay for self employed tax filing package for two, but she's full time salary and it's a very simple return for her. I could have done it with a free software, the only benefit was the donation she claimed 100%.

Turbotax 2023 Versions Missing Access to Exact For
I bought Turbotax Deluxe Online Edition at Costco (Canada). I had problems entering the code. A phone call to an agent said return it. I returned it and bought Turbotax Premier Edition. Still lots of issues for final NETFILE but another agent got a new code and helped to NETFILE the return. A lot of wasted time and I may take it to an accountant next year.

Price gouging
I am not self employed and TurboTax forced me to pay $60.00 for a self employed versions to complete my taxes. Their help team was of no help at all and I feel totally ripped off by Turbo Tax, a company I used to trust for over 12 years. Good bye Turbo Tax.

okay but forces upgrades
okay software. was super convenient used it for a long time , free version and then every few years keep getting forced to upgrade because "free" doesnt "support" specific forms etc... that's the reason i may not comeback next year

Even for experts difficult to understand
Turbo Tax is doing a poor job explaining what to do in certain instances. Even for experts with legal or business background, some questions simply don't make sense. To which extent users understand what to do, should be tested on a regular basis.

Charges software for unused forms
I have a self-employed return and and regular employee return. Filing together is ideal since the return is better,but turbo tax money gouges by charging 2 self employed when only 1 is used. Even after calling twice they did not want to refund the difference. Very disappointing i wonder how much extra money they make from others not realizing this. NEVER again using them such a shame its been 10 years, i will tell everyone to stop using them.

too expensive from one year to the next
It is easy, but the price of doing my family's tax doubled in a year. To try and reduce cost you have to hunt around on reddit to find a coupon code or you are stuck paying the inflated cost that Intuit feels that they can charge. I will probably look into doing my taxes elsewhere next year. It sucks because intuit was good and they have all my information. I just can't understand the price increases.

file separately if your spouse needs diff version
called turbotax once I got to payment page (after I was ready to file) that while I had self employed income ($60) my wife only had a t4 and only needed the free/basic version. Instead they charged me $60 for her return being unwilling to offer me a coupon code to not charge for her return. An absolute joke that they don't disclose when selecting turbotax version that you can't change version for spouse to reflect their info/income.... just that "you need this one" (before it then applies to your spouse's return)

Online version is not helpful
I have used turbotax for as long as it has existed. Being forced to use the online version after having expected to use it on my computer like every other year I am FAR from impressed.
Not being able to import both spouses from previous years means extra work and potential for errors.
Having to wait for each entry to save online is a time waster.
CCA entries stop after 40 unless you "fool" the system into allowing more entries by editing a previous entry.
Transfer summary and T2125 summary does not work (The CCA doesn't show up even though there is a heading for it and it looks like there should be a summary)
Not being able to access/override forms like you can in the old version is ridiculous.
Will not use this again it was so frustrating and wasted so much time having to google to find where things were.

Deluxe is garbage
For years I have been purchasing the Deluxe version and been super pleased. This year - it is completely USELESS!!! Wasted $35. Doesn't do anything useful. I had to pay another $112 to upgrade just to complete my taxes.

Avoid the Online Version!
Stay away from the online version. It is very expensive... you only find out the final cost of it when you are done all the work of inputting values. There are quite a few "adds" for other products or services (yes they are financial related, but still it feel "spammy") slipped into various intermediate screens. No access to "forms view". Crazy expensive for what you get. More glitchy than cloud based software should be... especially one that is a glorified Q&A app.

Night sweats
I moved from Canada to the US mid-2022, which made me a "deemed resident" instead of an actual resident. Because I did freelance work, I payed for the 109$ Review option, to to go over my return with an expert and make sure everything was correct -- only to be told that Turbotax was not allowed to help deemed or non-residents. So I was left to file my taxes without any option to review with a professional. I was told I could buy the "full" option to have a tax expert file it entirely for me (for double the price), which I tried. At this point, I got a message saying that option was not available for Québec residents, and my *entire* return was voided. I had to start everything over again. Needless to say, it was an awful experience. To this day, I am not sure that I did everything correctly, and at the end the service offered me a "premium" package in case I got audited (because I moved and had school tuition fees, which were deemed a red flag according to them). I didn't want to be at risk so I purchased the bundle. But not being able to speak to anyone is nonsense when you let people go forward with using your service, and then are "not allowed to help??" Extremely disappointed.

Worst tax return experience
I have been filing my own taxes for almost 30 years. I have used Turbo Tax, formerly Quick Tax for as long as they have existed.
Using Turbo Tax Online was the worst tax experience I have ever had AND it is way too expensive for the value it offers.
The lack of ease navigating, waiting for pages to load, not being able to see the actual CRA forms are just some of the drawbacks with this product.
I DO NOT recommend at all, in any situation unless you can use for free. Even then, it is NOT a tool that serves the customer. It does serve the government and Intuit well.

Worst experience yet
Did not transfer all our info. Had to upgrade to finish, never had to other years(nothing has changed in employment or otherwise) All in all a terrible experience, probably using an accountant from now on.

Forced to use Self-Employed
We were forced to upgrade to Self-Employed online even though neither of us was or is self employed and neither of us had self employed income. We did not have to do this in previous years and nothing has changed regarding our tax situation.

Forced into using Self Employed
I have used the regular service (they call it deluxe now) for over 10 years. This year they forced me into buying an more expensive package and I am pretty mad about it.

Useless
I have a simple business statement and have not needed the business version of TurboTax for the last 20 years. This year I was forced to use and pay for something I didn't need. I will never use Turbotax again.

Never again
I used Turbotax a few times before. I think this is the last time. It has more and more glitches. The numbers mysteriously change or appears on its own. Later it is impossible to correct it. I had to start all over again few times. When reviewing my return, it appears like someone else interfered with my input. My income did almost doubled. After several frustrating hours I missed another TT generated error and I am in trouble now. I have to pay thousands of $ extra to government and fight for the return later. Turbotax was never great and it just got worse.
