Never again
I used Turbotax a few times before. I think this is the last time. It has more and more glitches. The numbers mysteriously change or appears on its own. Later it is impossible to correct it. I had to start all over again few times. When reviewing my return, it appears like someone else interfered with my input. My income did almost doubled. After several frustrating hours I missed another TT generated error and I am in trouble now. I have to pay thousands of $ extra to government and fight for the return later. Turbotax was never great and it just got worse.

not worth it
painful process full of buggy system that as of 2022 forces you to pay 50$ instead of filing for no reason. I can no longer recommend this product.

TurboTax thinks I am self employed
Turbotax thinks I am self employed and insists I upgrade to much more expensive tax-filing plan. I am not self employed, have checked my TurboTax profile settings over and over again to ensure I have not erroneously clicked that I was self employed, and searched online for an explanation of this error. I can find no help in this matter.

Time wasting program
For more than a very basic return this program is incredibly inefficient to use. Constantly having to back track when revising or reviewing numbers makes tax preparation purgatory. Not being able to "drill down" contributes much of the wasted time.
The "Find" function is pathetic. It should be much more comprehensive. Surely an easy fix for Turbo Tax.

Forced to Use self-employed
I bought the deluxe online edition (have used the standard online edition for years). I have a small amount of self-employed income and TT forced me to upgrade to the self-employed edition and did not credit me for the purchase of the deluxe version. Cost me an additional $100. My wife (not self-employed) was also forced to upgrade to self-employed because we file jointly. And no mention of this on the box for the deluxe edition!

Had to re-enter my entire return after Turbo-tax wouldn't let me de-select the "premium bundle" option. Wasted so much time. I hate this product. Will not be using next year.

I could not download a copy of my return in PDF, unlike in other years... like most online software is geared to Windows users, not Mac. When I click on the link, nothing happens.

WAY WAY too many pop-ups
it works fine, but it costs a good dollar, and the INCESSANT pop-ups drove me NUTS !!! WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY TOO MANY pop-ups as you work through the return. Next year, I think I will try something different !!!!!

Poor product this year
Very frustrating experience this year. The help tools were limited and typically explained the obvious tax areas and did not include help for the complicated tax areas. Business expenses has terrible/duplicate descriptions and the CCA depreciation tool and RRSP carry forward tools we're brutal. I've been a happy Turbotax customer for 5 years and based on this years experience, I'm going to be researching other online tax software options.

Gone Way Downhill
TurboTax used to be good. Now they aren't. They constantly try to upsell to premium return packages, didn't apply the 20% discount that was supposed to be accessed by using a particular link (I had to message them on social media to get the correct link), the completed return didn't open properly as a PDF, and there's no guarantee they got all the deductions or didn't make a gigantic mistake that will cost me. This is my last time using TurboTax.

Extra charges
My wife was also charged for the self employment when I am the one who is self employed. This is not fair, overpriced for simple income tax.

Changes Suck
Chenges to the way this program works are terrible , I have used this program for years and now all of a sudden it changes , very NOT USER friendly , froze up during medical expenses , didnt load past dats from other tax years , used terminology I am not familiar with and have nothing to do with new tx laws .

Disappointment
After many, many years of great experiences with turbotax, this year was a great disappointment. There were at least 2 looping issues, downloading pdf was not consistent, moving from one section to the next was slowed by pausing to save, saving caused crashes. Overall, I have lost confidence in this program.
These issues are simple programming bugs - and if these occur - what else has been missed that I don't know about? Keeping fingers crossed that I've provided correct information to CRA.

Unrecoverable Logins
While filing my 2019 return my login of over 4 years encountered an error during navigation (Simply pressing 'back'). It displayed a "loading information..." message and I was never able to access my 2019 return again. I spent countless hours entering medical expenses, deductions and other data that NEVER returned. Technical support claimed that turbotax.ca does not keep any data and that it's all connected the CRA which is false. He basically explained my login was forfeit and I had to create new credentials but that it would all come back. It did not. I spent hours and hours again re-entering my data for my 2019 Return. I will not be using TurboTax again.

Do not choose Self Employed
If you need to file both regular and self employed returns at the same time for you and a spouse, do not choose the self employed option. You will be charged for 2 self employed returns!! There is no option to change it back and their customer service will do nothing for you at all!!

Not what I was looking for
I do not like what they have done with this program. Enjoyed it more before. To strict on just sticking with compartmentalized entry pages, no ability to look at the actual return as you go. I like working with the actual return as I go, just helps me synthesize my thoughts about what is possible, what I need to consider. Inexperienced users with simple tax situation may like the approach this program has, makes it clear what they need to input, then boom, it is done. You do not see the actual return until you have submitted it to CRA.

Confusing program, buggy
It seemed easy to use until the end. I continued to get errors that I could not clear, even with the help of customer service. Some of my info from last year either did not import or was not saved. The most frustrating experience that I have had related to taxes.

I din't know that I could not use Forms in ONLINE
I was frustrated with the online version. Forced to use the interview to prepare returns was time consuming and painful. I know which form I need and could not jump right to them. Lastly you can't see your tax return until you File it.

The phone helpline is useless. Reps know nothing about taxes and give wrong advice. Turbotax asks many questions twice so that the program goes in circles. Turbotax seems to be more interested in selling their "luxury" upgrades than providing fast efficient service.

Worst Experience Ever
We've used turbotax for the past 10 years with great satisfaction but this year was horrendous. I hope they go back to the format that was used previous.
So many of the number weren't carried over and even the most simple RRSP optimizer wouldn't work. Terribly disappointed.

Thanks for not being clear on HOW TO FILE
FILING IS THE WHOLE POINT, but it wasn't actually clear on how to file, so we thought it was filed. NOPE! What was supposed to be done in APRIL is now done in OCTOBER! So thanks for that.
