Great product--a bit expensive
Overall this is a very good product. If you are confident in your tax filing skills. It's much cheaper than going to an accountant or tax service to file. It is also pretty quick.You also get great tips on tricks to help you maximize your savings and returns. However, if you pay for the additional protections (audit defense, and consultation with a tax rep to go over your final tax return) it ends up being pretty similar in cost to paying an accountant.

Makes the headache tolerable

my annual go-to
I've been doing my own and family members' taxes for years with this. Since starting my own business a few years ago, the home & business version has guided me through everything I need to collect, organize and input the appropriate information. Everyone asks me why I don't hire a service to do my taxes and my response is always that the biggest part of doing taxes is the collection & organization of info and a service can't do that part for me. Why would I pay someone to just plug numbers into a program when I can do that so simply and economically with TurboTax? (Even a professional accountant agreed with me). My only criticism would be the significant cost difference between the regular and business/home versions. I've used both and I don't think the additional business content is worth that much more.

Another successful year

Turbo Tax is easy to use
I have used TT for a long time but this is the first year I have used the Home and Business version. I liked its ability to require solutions and messages that things you thought should happen were coming next.

Works great...until..
Tax program works great until you finish and complete a tax file, send it, print conformation and then try and open/start another file. The program keeps going back to try and resend the last one you completed after telling you that the file has changed and "do you want to save it".
I needed to close the program and reopen to start the next tax file.

Amazing tool for every tax payer
I have been using turbotax for 5 years. With every year, I am more confident that I do it right, my knowledge expands, and I explore more fields to get best returns. I like doing it myself as I feel controlling what is going on. This year, I added the turbotax pro service before filling. The agent went through the forms and he advised a change that added $113.4 to my return. Really it worth every penny
