multiple year user
I have been using TurboTax for several years and I find that it is thorough and not difficult to use. I use the forms method since I know what has to be done that way I can complete it in a timely fashion. I enjoy the review as it catches many small items.

I like it, but....
I like using Turbo Tax and have for several years now. The problem I have is when I do my wife's and my return. We are partners in an unincorporated business. We file our return together, but when I enter all our business income and expenses on my return, I don't see a way to transfer all that information to my wife's, and sometimes I make mistakes when I try to put the right figures in the right category. It's annoying! Frustrating! Surely there is a way that the program will simply take those figures and automatically transpose them to my wife's return? Either it's not explained how I can do that simply enough, or it's not possible. Either way, it is a problem I grapple with EVERY year! Show me what I'm doing wrong, or fix it please!

A Useable Software
I found the software to be useable and somewhat friendly. Notice of perceived errors at the specific stage as opposed to at the end of the process, I believe would be more helpful and reduce both mental anguish and time to make corrections.

Product is Good
I used the Home and Business version this year and found a bit more difficult to use. There is a lot more detail that you need to be aware of. That is good for most people. But, it does take a lot of extra time.

Good product which I will use again
tax slip download needs to be more accurate.
It is best to use it to download voluminous number of slips (my case about 75) and then verify each one.

Must review all data before submitting
The program does not always save all your data. You need to go back and refill sections, and I don't know why that is. I highly recommend you review your whole tax return, before filing, if you've worked on it in stages. The program does not truly save your info between uses.

TurboTax Error
T5-slip amounts in USD are treated as CAD. The program downloads T-slips from the CRA and then blindly adds USD and CAD amounts together as one to one! I have warned them about this blunder since they were Cantax 20 years ago.

TurboTax Home & Business
The easy step process is really easy but when not using this format, the tabs and forms are a bit difficult to follow. I previously used tax software at an accounting office and was therefore somewhat familiar with the forms and the filing process. The program did find information that I was not aware of so for that fact I would advise to use tax software to file annual taxes.

ease of use
Most of the forms are easy to use. I find some things difficult, like changing CCA, combining 2125 forms so I have just one business, It would save paper and make it simpler to do and evaluate.

I was completing combined spousal return.
At one point in the easystep interview, the program asked me the same question over and over. I had to click on ther sub menu to move along.
Also there should be a button to switch between spouses

Excellent Product
I have used this product for over 10 years and found it easy to use and would recommend it to others. There are a few areas where it could be improved, these are not detrimental to the final result of your submission but could speed up the process if these improvements were incorporated. this program is the best I have found so far.

Works great, hard to install
Have been using the software for many years but the installation over the last two have been too complicated and there is not much support online to assist. Had to go into the properties of the setup.exe fill and run as an administrator, couldn't just install as an administrator.

Break even value
It saves time by doing all the math automatically every time you make a change. It saves some time by having some definitions and explanations available in its help functions. It wastes time by not allowing easy side by side comparison of spousal returns, which was simple with paper versions, especially for shared or split credits, etc. It wastes time by not containing new tax items like the Home Renovation tax credit in the Help index (so you waste time looking for something that doesn't seem to exist where it should), and the help button '?' feature does not provide help for the page you're on (as the software implies), instead it just takes you to a generic Index-Search tool. Some prompt questions are counterintuitive which wastes more time as you try to figure out how to answer them (one took almost 1 1/2 hours with their phone support, all of whom struggled with it). Net time saved compared to filling the paper return was pretty close to zero. One good feature is the running tally of your balance as you enter data. It would be helpful to have it split into each spouse's balance, along with the combined net. A particularly useful function is the CCA calculation which carries over year-to-year, especially since both the calculation and the rationale seem to contain hard-to-fathom features.

made life easier!
I was retired and then became self employed all in the same year. I've used Turbo tax personally for years, but this time I used the home and business version. Was very easy and simple to use, and helped guide me through all of the self-employed related questions to complete my filing.

easy filing

Frustrated
The print toggle option doesn't work when trying to get an individual return printed on a couple's return- keep getting just the one individual's return printing out no matter which of the couple's returns selected!!!
