Still needs improvements
Most of it works well. For some reason if you download forms from the CRA the T5013s are not included so you have to enter them by hand. The input format is missing fields that are populated on the paper forms. The partnership percentage field will not accept small numbers ( not enough decimal points) The capital gains portion of the form is hidden behind a link that is just an untitled box number at the very bottom of the screen. Clearly you don't actually listen to the clients as these are the EXACT SAME STUPID PROBLEMS AS LAST YEAR.

2019 Was More Frustrating
Not as helpful as previous years. Have used TurboTax 7 plus years previously.. Some problems too busy screens to quickly go back and forth, tedious to use forms, could never after 5 attempts register my product with you, transferring 2018 over I lost 75% of the 2019 data inputted.

Missing 2018 Tax Return
I think Turbo Tax is great and have used for many many years. Unfortunately I am missing one our families returns and can't find it in order to transfer information from 2018 to 2019 return. That is frustrating as the other three family members' 2018 Returns show up without problem.

It's OK but . . .
Did returns for both wife and I. TurboTax showed everything (e.g. total refund) concurrently, but when at final stages, suddenly it's "you owe this much, the other gets a refund". Confusing. Also, the issue of recycling refund (not at all clearly explained. Who gets what; what are rules . . .?) When I filed first return in early March refund expected (according to TT) was $2200. CRA sent Assessment notice of refund for $1800. Awaiting Assessment on second filing, TT says $500 owing, curious what CRA says. Very disappointed this year; will look at alternatives for next year.

Dissappointed
Have used TurboTax for years and have been very happy but the changes this year made it less user friendly and not as easy to make changes. I had to enter information about my business 3 times; first time I didn't realize I was in Professional part until the end when I didn't enter some key information, so started over in the business summary. Was interrupted so bookmarked the form and when I returned couldn't find my bookmark (not explained clearly how to use it) so started all over again for 3rd time. Very frustrating. Answered all the questions but even though my answer was no, the form appeared anyway and didn't pertain to my situation. Didn't like the short version of tabs at top of page.

Awesome!
I've been using Turbotax since before it was Quick Tax. It is user-friendly, easy and quick. This year I had a support issue that was resolved and the technician was phenomenal! She sorted out the issue and provided actual help. A real person, I kid you not. I'd highly recommend this product. The downside is the wait time to speak to an operator and the need to upgrade the software to eliminate some of these issues. I also feel that the software is becoming more expensive than it could be. With free-to-use softwares out there, a reduction in price for long-term users and lower-income users makes good sense for both existing and new customers.

It was easy to use, however they took away a feature that I used alot and because that feature is gone, I may look elsewhere for a different product. The feature is printing forms, if you try and print a specific form it counts as a tax return. I queried Turbox Tax and I was asked why do I have to print it when its on the screen. Paper is sometimes easier to use. Some of the info is hard to find.

Home & Business
This is the first time I have used Home & Business. The first time I completed the return I was confused about the Business element as I was self-employed for some of the time in 2019. However, when I went back to review, the Business element appeared when it hadn't automatically appeared the first time round. Peculiar.

Useful, simple to use, with good help
the filling in of tax links to complete the available deductions and sharing of income along with the linkages of investment, proprietary business functions and personal data works seamlessly and the tips for items of interest helps guide the tax completion process to the best results available for any conditions you may face.

TurboTax Previous Year fees
Although I like the ease of use for TurboTax, I feel there is far too much grey area when claiming business write off's and not a wide enough range of options for an automated software program.

Not for complex situations
It was way faster answering questions than doing forms, but it left me to my own devices on more complex forms. also a slight misorder in the presentation of medical expenses options - did not tell me I did not have to detail my raft of prescription drug claims until one step late. I nearly didn't claim them.

Fairly easy to use. Could definitely be improved. If you have a business partnership with your spouse all of the info from one Statement of Business Activities should automatically transfer over. Charitable optimizer is difficult to understand.

Turbo Tax is fairly easy for the most part, but I did have trouble navigating the section for depreciation on equipment. When I did finally figure out how to make changes that I needed it was then hard to get back to the regular turbo tax screens. I find that part of turbo tax to be not very user friendly. Sometimes I feel like for Proprietorship business It is not very clear in some areas and the focus is all on property, not so much about a small business that does work with small equipment.

Last years issue - when I try to print confirmation page after filing taxes program crashes and closes. It happened again this year after every personal tax that I did...5 in total. the final one kicked me out when I tried to print the receipt page of auto defense. Frustrating for sure.

Overall satisfied, but 2 main bugs this year:
1) Why does the Print function not print the INVEST pages that I need but prints the TOSI pages that I do not need?
2) The entry for the T5008 data does not include the Tax Cost and Capital Gains selection so needed to enter those manually.

it used to be better
it used to be a great program. now there are glitches in turbotax that slow you down. for the last three years i encountered errors that are not errors, it just doesn't let you fill in or edit. on top of it this year auto form fill was delayed until 15.3. and so was the netfile.

Coupling
I prepared a return coupled with my husband which in our circumstances did not work. While the entries were simplified and I was able to move entries easily between us, when I tried to Netfile, the program would not let me because I wanted to split the charitable donations. I ended up redoing our returns separately which enabled me to Netfile. Wasted at least 4 hours. Please build into your program the ability to uncouple before filing.

Generally good
Pretty easy to use and easy to file with CRA. I have used the product for several years and each year the same mistake appears: form T2222 is not automatically presented (you have to know to look for it) to northern residents. Also, the hyperlink for NAICS shows "error". I will see next year if Intuit reads this post and corrects the mistakes.

Easy but inflexible
This product is easy to use but does not have the flexibility to share the disability transfer credit - so I have to print it out and modify it in order to actually file it!
It also wouldn't print the new Climate Action Incentive Schedule with the rest of the schedules -- I had to find it and print it myself.
