way to expensive for home use...other competitors are less then half the cost but i still use turbo for the convenience and import from prior years.

glitches
after each file has been sent through net file. Your program takes your client back to the same screen asking if you would like to file. since the confirmation number has been viewed and printed and the email confirmation has been received. I assume that the file has been sent, received and verified. your program taking your clients back to the screen asking them if they would like to file is confusing and concerning.

TurboTax 2017 Home and Business
I'm very happy with TurboTax 2017 Home and Business. It makes filing taxes easy for the masses.
I used it for personal taxes, for my partner, myself and our three kids. I also used it for my sons eSports business, and our own rental property taxes.
This year I had to use Intuit Canada's TurboTax phone support, which, after a 80 minute call-back wait, was terrific. The lady who assisted me was stellar. She was very patient, explained things clearly, and solved my problems quickly.

Disappointed
I am a bit disappointed this year - have been using this program for a very long time and this is the lst time I have had an issue trying to netfile any return I have worked on. Still cannot figure out how to do it.

Pretty good overall
I have been using Turbotax for 5 years or so, and overall I really like it. It certainly saves me the money I used to pay my accountant. And since I have a background in bookkeeping I can do all that - it's just the tax return I'm not qualified to do. I think previous versions were easier to navigate - with the stick shift on top, you could go back or forth wherever you wanted very easily. I find the menu on the left hand side not as user friendly. This year, out of the blue, it asked my for a 'partnership number', something I don't have and have never been asked for. A pop up containing explanations would be nice.

Great but annoying
This product is very good at leading you through the maze of forms to submit an accurate return. The profile interview setup is great, and if you provide accurate answers and don't miss a question or option it will produce the best tax outcome. But there are areas of improvement - don't suggest that I might be eligible for the Seniors credit if I am in my twenties! Don't tell me about retiring allowances unless there is some indication that I have retired. But these are mere annoyances; in terms of producing a return that minimizes taxes due/maximizes refunds it does a great job.

easy to use
easiest program..... I've tried several others but turbo tax takes the so-called cake by miles
easy to navigate, easy to find answers to questions, easy to netfile
only issue I have is the print is too small compared to what it had been and that makes it more difficult for me to read as I age.......and there is k=no way to enlarge the print so, hopefully that can be changed in future

A trusted program
I use TurboTax each year to complete my income tax for both home and business. It's the only software program I trust. I have used it since the 1990s. I like it, I like it a lot and I trust, I trusted a lot – it has never failed me and it continues to surprise me each year as to how simple it makes the tax process. It is good value for the money and frankly eliminates the need for someone else to do my taxes. I cannot commend it enough to you! You owe it to yourself and your business

Taxes made easier

Home and business lacking a bit...
A good program in that it allows filling in last years submissions.
Poor, in that you can't purchase this on line and have that capability.
Lacking explanations of what the different classes of CCA divisions. (I don't know where to claim my auto, nor did it allow a change of autos during the year).

It's ok but needs some upgrades
The one thing I find every year is that the program doesn't ask about living in a prescribed zone. I claim Northern Residents deduction every year and if I didn't know about it then I wouldn't have thought to search for the proper step on my own. It makes me wonder if there aren't other tax deductions I'm not aware of...

Gross earnings
It took me 3 times through the tax questions to work out where to put in my gross self employment earnings. If this was highlighted it would have helped me. This is first time I have used the program.

TurboTax Peeps PLEASE READ THIS
My partner and I have the same name, and it's utterly confusing to use your software because throughout the processes I'm not sure if you're asking questions about me or him. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add an option to somehow differentiate individuals in circumstances like this. Such as John Doe #1 & John Doe #2, or including middle initials.

Check for updates never worked
The check for updates option never worked, and there was no Netfile option until the software was updated. Has to manually update the software.

Robust yet concise
Running a small business I could easily get lost in the plethora of details that re easy to miss and get mired in the things that don't matter. This program helps cut through the language, yet still keeps the pertinent details enough that I'm confident in them. A little bit cumbersome to fill over multiple sittings.

Good, Easy to use, but very slow
This is solid and mature software. The easy-step process works well and the integration with netfile is flawless. The only frustration is the slowness of the software. I have a very capable computer, but every time I clicked "Continue", I had to wait for the next screen, frequently several seconds.

Add a feature where you can automatically split capital gains with your spouse instead of having to input the same sales in the spouses return. This would save a lot of time.
Also, have a feature where you can print a copy of the return without the watermarks showing.

Fast and Efficent
I have been using turbotax for a number of years for the family. I find it fast and efficient and a lot more fun than doing it on paper. Programme has worked for our small "on the side" business and for our children over the years. They are now university age. Programme handles our tax situation well but I would recommend keeping the big picture in mind as I sometimes have to switch from the easy step method to forms method to insert a few things that I missed on the first pass. Its good to have an idea of what your are expecting since ultimately you the human are responsible for the resulting return.

Amazingly simple
I run a sole proprietor business and am very pleased at how simple it is for me to do my own tax return with Turbotax Home and Business. What used to be a dreaded task taking the good part of a day is done within a couple of hours at most.

Good product, needs better online support
The javascript error that popped up a dialog on each screen makes the product hard to use, and it prevented it from downloading the forms directly from the CRA. It took more than an hour waiting on the phone to have someone gave a simple instruction can could have been posted on a public forum for easy access.

Surprising Stress Reliever
I usually did my taxes by hand but opted to go this route. Great decision and good program. Dummy-friendly for sure. Oh and cheaper than a tax filing company.

Paid extra - Premier was less than before
Premier did less this years than prior years and I was forced to buy Home & Business, as an upgrade in order to complete my return.
There are reports within TurbTax that benefit me, and I would like to print a copy - such as: Summary Details, and some of the work sheets.
Printing a return should allow it to be truncated to the T1 General and a selection of schedules.

not able to print
the only issue i had was trying to print individual forms and the efile confirmation. only way was to go to the print after the filing menus and then was able to print the required forms. was never able to print the efile confirmation from the program but able to from the email copy.
