Very good
The software is easy to use. My only disappointment is not being able to import a taxfile from a CD prepared version into the online version.

Good purchase
This year I did not need assistance over the phone, in past years I did and it was very disappointing. It means to me that the product itself has been improved. Better than paying an accountant hundreds of dollars.

Making Life a Little Easier
Very good software. Sure saves time, which is really valuable these days. Helped me understand my tax situation, which can be mind boggling...at best. Many rules and regulations...simplified. Thanks TurboTax!

Very Usefull
This product is very useful but this year they decided to include a blue background on all the screens. This would have been OK but for the fact that the link text was also in blue - making it hard to read. A white background would be better.
Other than that, the product is good and I would recommend it because it helps do make sure you don't miss anything.

Long time user
The TAX Rules have become so complex, that unless one choses to use a program, the only other option is to hire someone.
Almost everyone feels a great deal of stress at TAX time, and Turbo Tax certainly can help relieve such stress. The 'Easy Method' is quite good, you simply answer the questions...
Also, you can save and easily access previous Filed Tax files in PDF. Printing has become an option - save a tree and save in PDF.

Need an automatic save function
Software is great and I have been using it for many years however I worked on the return for hours and did not save it, my computer froze and I lost everthing and had to restart.

Great... but
Excellent ,ergonomic. But make sure you download updates before you begin otherwise all info is wiped out including previous years.

It Does the task but it Crushes
The Turbo tax software works well. This year the product kept uninstalling while I was doing my taxes. I lost the information twice. I had to re install the software.
I was able to NET file the tax, so that is handy

Overall good, but some peeves
I've been using Turbo Tax since 2002 when it was Quick Tax. While the overall screen and entry process has improved (it should over 11 years!) certain things peeve me each year.
1. Enough of the upsells!
2. I don't want to buy a will
3. I don't want to buy audit protection0
This year we have a new one- I can't generate a .tax file. While I do like the ease of Netfiling directly, it makes it very difficult to process another person's returns. I frequently do taxes (unpaid) for family members, friends and the occasional request from our church for low-income members. In the past I processed their return and sent them the pdf to review. Once everything was approved, I'd generate and send them the .tax file as it is ILLEGAL TO FILE OTHER PEOPLE`S TAX RETURN. So this year, since I can`t send them their .tax file to submit themselves, I have 4 people stopping by my house to hit the stupid button themselves.
Can we have the .tax file as an option next year??

good purchase
When using easy steps I found I could not go back to easy steps once I saved return. I tried to get help but was not helpful. Had to delete return and start again which was a real pain. Turbo tax kept giving me totals and not letting me back to details. Should fix this.

Taxes for the non-professional
Quick Tax is very helpful if you have a fairly complex return and want to do a DIY plus it is good for the what if simulations.

Pay Attention
You still need basic income tax knowledge to use the easy step feature. Some of the automatic populated numbers are incorrect, as a 50/50 partnership it should populate as such and not 100% for both partners.

apple version?????
I have used your program ever since it was first released however I have purchased an Apple Mac and was dissappointed to find there is no Apple version. I will NOT use the online version. Consequently I have to use my old Windows laptop that I have retired to use your software. Your program should be available for Apple.

Product Great! Auto Renew Not So Great!
The TurboTax software itself is easy to use and has several options for how to enter data that suits all levels of ability. The forms wizard is a nice feature that asks questions and then provides the necessary prompts, tips and forms to get the data entered painlessly. For those more versed in navigating forms directly, that option is also available. My only complaint is year after year the Auto Renew system of TurboTax continues to have no issues sending me emails about payment but can't seem to get the actual pgm download instructions and key email to navigate spam filters on my email service (telus and yahoo to date). If they could sort this out I'd have given them 5 stars for Overall Rating.

Very good but only ask me a question once
Overall it is very easy to use however I did hit several issues (did five returns):
I checked (or unchecked) the box to indicate I had no RRSP yet I still got several screens and questions about it.
Doing a student return I was getting the no income warning but scholarships entered correctly on line 105.
I also checked the box indicating a full time student and yet was asked about working income tax benefit even though full time students are not eligible.
Since either spouse can claim the tuition transfer there should be a wizard like RRSP contribution wizard to optimize the transfer savings without experimenting and trying it with each parent.
When filing TurboTax gave the option to net file but the next screen said it was not eligible.
After clicking print return to mail TurboTax goes back to the same screen so it seemed like maybe the printing failed.

Makes taxes less stressful
I have used TurboTax several years and I keep coming back because it continues to answer my questions, give me step by step directions as to what I need to file what information and provides for ease of use in entering the information. I have now constructed my files to correspond to the classifications and it makes the process much less time consuming. I have 3 small business ventures and hiring an accountant would cost me thousands. This product fits my time and budget.

navigating between employment expense and self emp
there were two things with the product that I found disturbing and annoying; a) transitioning between employment expenses and self employment expenses. It was initially confusing and frustrating, not knowing where to enter which bits of information.
b) all my charity stuff didn't get entered before sending because at no point did the charity screen pop up.

More complicated than ever
This latest version of Turbo Tax seems more complicated and more difficult to complete.
Finding the correct form has always been a problem due to the tiny window that these forms appear in.
Net filing has added to the problems due to illogical and pointless information that has to be searched out and included.
When Net File is finally completed it flips back and asks do you want to Net File?
