Business expense catagory menu needed
I started my small home-based business last year so used the small business version for the first time. I found most of it was very good and easy to understand. I did however get a bit annoyed when I went through the business expenses and had spots where the same item could be entered in two different places. An intro type menu telling what the catagories are would be very helpful.

Not bad
I've been using Turbotax for many years now and it is easy to use; the layout is organized and the help option is helpful. My only constructive feedback is that the Home and Business version is quite expensive. It would be nice if there was a cheaper option .. ie. cheaper but fewer number of returns included.

I found that the tax program did not allow for auto tranfer of deductions from spouse to spouse or was not clear on what to do. My case is that I contrubite to spouses rsp but I get deduction and it is con fusing on where to enter, same with tranfer of educatopn credits from children

Basically a good Tax software package.
I wish you could use the percentage split as in your T-3 & T-5s, for reporting stock transactions; gains and losses.

Made tax time easier
Turbo Tax is an easy to use product. Guided questions, information and explanations readily available, and all in easy to understand language. Knowing there were tax experts available by phone or chat was reassuring.

Software Failure
Product stopped working twice. The first time I had to reenter some data and the second time I was printing a saved retrun. I have not had similar problems in previous years.

SCHEDULE 3 HELP
THE BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT WOULD BE FOR QUICKEN 2013 STOCK TRACKER PROGRAM TO DOWNLOAD ALL AMOUNTS REQUIRED TO CALCULATE CAPITAL GAINS/LOSSES INTO THE SCHEDULE 3. THIS DOWNLOAD SHOULD ALSO SPLIT THE AMOUNTS BETWEEN SPOUSES VIA A PERCENTAGE IN THE SAME WAY T5, T3 SLIPS CAN BE SPLIT. AT THE VERY LEAST HAVE A REPORT IN STOCK TRACKER THAT PROVIDES ONLY THE NUMBERS REQUIRED FOR SCHEDULE 3. IN ONE COLUMN SHOW THE TOTAL AND, AS AN OPTION, A SECOND COLUMN TO SHOW A SPLIT FOR SPOUSES.

Good software
First time user. I like the fact that they have chat support. I got answers to my questions when I needed them. Good program overall.
Reason for not giving 5 stars is that when I started entering information on the online version and decided later to purchase the desktop version -- there is no way to import data from online to desktop version -- for Canadian version. I had to re-type almost everything. :(

The help section is not very precise. For example when attempting to netfile we kept getting an error saying that a percentage should be entered for my business ownership. However I had a sole proprietorship which does not require a percentage to be entered. The real problem was that the business number entered had a space which apparently should not have been there. Although all other communication shows the gap and we entered it that way last year. Had we been directed to that error in the first place we could have saved a couple of hours of searching.

Have used for over 10 years
I find turbo-tax easy to use and it guides you through ones return with ease, when you use easy step. It also gives you warnings when there is a possibility you have done something wrong and has lots of help. I would recoment this software to anyone. It's not perfect but one of the best I have evaluated.

Great tax program
We've used Turbo Tax for a number of years and find it to be quick and simple to use for filing our returns. A couple of minor complaints. Program will keep asking for the same information if you 'review' your return more than once, even after responding to prompts the first time. Second, it would be nice to have a tab with key, and commonly used, headings such as donations or RSP which take you back to those sections in the Quick Revew or to the appropriate forms.

Either DELETE SPACES where Account Number (15 Characters) is printed in Review Section OR advise users to delete spaces. Error message does not give you any indication to do so. Very frustrating when all data is correctly included. Also, "Percentage" for proprietors should be more clearly identified.

Overall a great value
The walkthrough and the form look up is all great!! This program walks me through my small business taxes failrly well and accurately with my limited knowledge.
The only thing i dislike is the page inbetween sections that remind me that i am almost done, etc. (in the easystep part). They are pointless and a time waster.
And the repeated reminders to sell me TurboTax for next year in the program are kinda irritating too.
It's a fantastic program and it doesn't need that clutter. The program and the price will keep me a return client. I have purchased this program for @ 5 years now.... It is simple to use and provides help info well too i must say.

Turbo tax forms menu- names pls
For years I have been frustrated when accessing forms from the drop down menu at the bottom of the page. it would really help if a brief descriptor was provided saying what each form was, rather than just the number, like 2209. saves from having to open a bunch when looking for a specific form.

It does the job
I've used QuickTax/TurboTax for several years - Home & Business. It gets the job done. I find it a bit pricey. And what ticks me off is paying for Intuit products... then finding a better deal afterwards. For exampel on the next screen after this "review" I'm given the option to buy Quicken 2013 for 20% off! Except I reacted to an email saying my offer to get $10 off was going to expire soon so purchas noe.

Turbo Tax - Why do I have to pay for prep for 20 returns when I only do 5? This doesn't make sense to me. Turbo Tax could produce the Home and Business package for those of us who only do the returns for ourselves and maybe a few family members.
