Great Tax Advice Support
This is my 5th year using Turbo Tax and it is getting better and easier to use. I was having some problems caluculating CCA and the tax advice support suggested that I upgrade to the CD Home and Business version. It was much easier to use for what I wanted to do. I particularly liked that I could go back and forth from the guided interview to the forms to see that entrees were handled as I thought they should. The tax advice support I received was very helpful.

It's easy to use especially after a couple or more years of using it. I appreciate that although updates and small improvements are made each year, the general format remains the same. Had a bit of trouble on the automatic annual purchase process though, mt card was billed but I did not get the product; however, it was easily resolved with a phone call answered reasonably quickly by a real person......

Number of Returns
I feel that offering Home & Business with 12 returns is not necessary. I don't know who would actually use all 12 returns other than a Bookkeeping Service. My suggestion would be possibly 5 returns at a slightly lower cost.

Almost worked
Did not handle unused RRSP contributions properly. Subtracted them from income even though RRSP deduction limit was $0.

Quick Tax / Turbo Tax
MY seventh year using the Intuit products and again in 2012 I think they saved me money and time.
Turbo Tax Home Business is real easy to use and when it comes to Self-Employed Business Users like me, it takes the complicated out of the equation.
Turbo tax prepares you so it becomes a simple task of entering in data.
Netfile made easy....

This year's edition contained bugs
I noticed that this year's edition of the software contained some bugs... There were errors that were detected that were not errors at all and for the first time I will submit a package with 'errors'.
Pretty disappointing... I'll evaluate a different package next year.

Some categories are missing or lacking in information to determine elegibility such as Ontario Energy and Property Tax credit. One line item was state your Home Energy costs - Reserve, but no where did it explain what was meant by "reserve". Only in the forms book did I find the statement that it applied if you lived on a reserve only.
It came up with an error in address field but did say where exactly the error was it appeared to be a period after the Cres. in the address which didn't change the address which was accepted last year

saving& printing
The saved version or printed version of the tax return has all the schedules that I used at one time but later I found that it is irrelevant to my case , so I deleted the information from them but the blank schedules still get saved and printed. Please find a way to get rid of blank forms in my return.

The tax package is easy to use, but the package review asked for upon completion has serious deficiencies, asking ambiguous questions, asking redundant questions, and providing no option to backtrack to correct questions answered incorrectly. I recommend bypassing the review, but use the tax package.

"Saved" my marriage
My wife & I hated doing our taxes when were still in university. We would often disagree when trying to interpret the tax forms. TurboTax (nee Quicktax) walks us through step by step.

Online version is rough
I've found that the online version is not as good as CD version. The partner's address of rental and businees can not been changed after entering when I tried online version.

The overall experience of this software is great, however, suggest to improve on the wording of questions. Some questions are 'double negative' makes it confusing to select a 'Yes' or 'No' answer

Had a Problem
I had a HUGE problem happen this year with Turbo Tax. I had finally finished entering all my info, got to the part where you can print off a copy, save the copies, e-file and all. After I printed off the copies for my husband and I (thank God I was able to do that!), the program absolutely crashed and I lost ALL my info!!! It was like I had never done anything with Turbo Tax before that. GONE!!! I was VERY dissappointed and discouraged and had to then re-input all my info in order to e-file. Thank God I had my print-outs to help. But still....... It didn't happen the second time around which I was very grateful for.

tips
your tips sections tells me what I should do to improve but does not have a "take me threr button" I had to e-mail you to find out where and how to do what it suggested. Otherwise it work very well and eazy.

Handy but hard to folllow
I really enjoyed being able to have the 'easy step' help but at times it simply wasn't intuitive how to manouevre through the various forms.. perhaps a video at the start, or some yellow guidance bubbles or something would help greatly. Also, it may seem a small thing, but I really didn't enjoy the typeface that the program is in, it hurt my eyes ... simple but important aspect. Thanks. E

Should provide the software for MAC
Using the software with PC is good, but I have a new MAC since last year, and would like to use TurboTax with it, but TurboTax does not support MAC! That is too bad!!!

deductions made easier
Hello,
In general I really like your product. This year calculating the maximum benefit for my charitable tax donations and cultural gifts seemed more unweildy than last year. If the optimizer could combine both, tell me if I have reached a maximum, carry forward a portion, then that would be handy. I found myself clicking back, having to start a section again, guessing at amounts for donations. It was irritating.

Accessing forms
Generally this was a good first experience with this program. However, I would like to have been able to access the different forms and line references more easily. Given that this was my first time using Turbotax, I went the "easy step" route but found this frustrating when I needed to enter or review specifics. Would love to have been able to see an overview of how the different options worked before starting the return. Now that I know how it works, next year should be easier and yes I do intend on buying again next year.

Business Tax hard to navigate
Use Turbo tax every year and recommend it to friends and family; however being my 3rd year using the Business Tax software, this year Easy step did not navigate as i would have been expected. Found it not as user friendly as previous years.

Buggy Flags
I found this years Turbo tax to be better than last years, but it still had bugs. Example: The flag option is nice, but it does not always work. The add button in the first window was missing and then the bottom half was missing Cancel and Add. This happened several times. The first time I did not know what was going on, and I thought it was because I had too many flags at (5). Later I noticed that it was not due to too many flags, but it was buggy software. If I hovered my mouse over the spot where the buttons were suppose to be, it would change my cursor to a hand and then allow me to click and add the flag. This was the same with the bottom section. So the pixel location was correct and worked, but no visibility for the buttons.
The other awkward section would be flow in the program seemed to be off with respect to the forms. It also did not allow you to go back if you clicked on the flag location. If a person clicks on a flag location you should be able to go back to where you just were. I'm not referring to the 'Back' button on each page either, that seemed to work okay, but was not available for some sections. So I found myself entering a lot more flags just to be able to return to a place I was previously working. I know there is a 'Take me' option, but that does not work great either, because there are not enough details in the list. Example: I wanted to go back to 'Property Tax' entry so I could adjust the number because it was incorrect, but all the listing said the same thing: form number then Business Deduction, now I do not recall how many exactly, but it seemed like 10 entry's of Business Deductions. Why not say something like 'Business Deduction: In home use', at least then you would be able to find it.
