I found it very difficult to find where to input gratuities. I found it in the forms, but have no idea where it was input on easy step. Also, found it difficult to find where it was saved on my computer. I have used Quick tax since 1995 and it was always saved in one location, today it was saved in a different location.

Great software
TurboTax is very intuitive and guides you through every step of the way. But I always have problems entering tuition and child care expenses. Part of it is done in easy steps and rest in forms mode. I wish they improve it a little bit.

An improvement over Quicktax.
It would be more helpful if you could get to the topic on the screen (for example when you are inputting info on books and texts) in the HELP section directly.

No ads please. Survey too long.
I like the software. It is easy to use. There was an ad for a Canadian bank at one point, which I found insulting since I purchased this software. Purchased software should be ad-free.
I agreed to complete a "short" on-line survey, and after about 5 minutes i got tired of the questions and cancelled the survey. Waste of time for me and if they did not save it, for them too. Every survey should have the ability for the user to quit when it becomes too long.

Very Easy to Use
Step by step guide is excellent. Intuitively moves you through your income tax submission. Could use a search field right on the face page although it is available via the "Help" button.

it was good. Got me to where i needed. But for the price i paid i wouldnt mind being able to talk to a person about questions i had. You have to pay xtra for that. I would have also like the ability to import company data that isent in an intuit product.
Overall alll it was good and did what i needed.

Great for new startup business owners
I have used Quicktax for many years with straightforward submissions. I just started a new small business and was not looking forward to tax time. I purchased the Home and Business version and it was a snap. I got back much more than I expected. Thanks

Hard to understand

Very good software
I had a great deal of difficulty when entering information about space used in rental property as my home business office portion.
It did not provide an area for number of rooms used for business purposes, even though this feature is available when the software dealt with a purchased home as opposed to a rental unit.
I had great difficulty navigating back to the dollar amount I entered for the portion of the rental property in order to change the mistake I made. I accidentally entered the full rent for the year rather than the prorated amount used for home office.
Also, there did not seem to be a seperate area for deducting cellular phones as opposed to home phones. Again, the software would have prorated the home phone, but I wanted some place to enter a dollar value that would reflect the full amount as an expence.

Be carefull
This is the unincorporated edition, but yet is doesn't do a good job of transfering entries between partners, who are also spouses. Entries for the business income and expenses need to be entered in each spouse's return. It's lots of extra work and checking, for something that should be happening automatically. The older versions used to do this much better.

Turbotax review
I found the software very easy to use. It asked most of the right questions. It calculated everything correctly.
The only thing I think needs improvement, is the information transfer from Quickbooks.
In Quickbooks you are asked to list business purchases in different categories. eg" Equipment, or Office Supplies, Supplies, or Advertizing, and so on.
Why, when the Quickbooks software has already asked me to list Equipment purchases as such, does Turbotax ask me again? And why is the information not making the crossover?

You need to use AI tools on the side to get taxes done well. Turbotax in itself seems to hide information or not guide as well. Its average.

Unable to Migrate
Used TurboTax online last year but this year I wanted to change to the download version. I had heard that you can bring forward your previous year's tax return information from online to desktop versions, but after I bought and installed it I discovered this feature is only available in the U.S. and Canada is outta luck! Could not bring forward information and had to redo it all from scratch. Very annoying!

Disillusioned
I have been a loyal fan of Turbotax and Quick tax. I currently use Turbotax Home and Business. However, the last couple of years I have experienced a number of bugs in the program and glitches. My trust in Turbo Tax has lessened greatly. At this point, I still use it, but double check everything and put up with the hassles because it is familiar and has all my previous records.

It is helpful for walking you through various scenarios, and the explanations for different questions, but I found it hard to navigate if you wanted to go back to something, and sometimes it felt like you had to answer the same question multiple times (like it would ask you in the profile in the beginning whether certain scenarios applied to you, and even though you said no, it would still ask you more questions when you got to that section.

It's okay
It gets the job done but not the easiest to use. Always has a few glitches or makes suggestions that do you get the best refund. I've been using it for years and very familiar so will probably keep doing so.

Great for entering business tax
Used Turbo Tax for many years and it is great for filing business taxes. I cannot give a top review because some fool has programmed it to keep asking for surveys in the middle of filing with CRA.

Different result than CRA
CRA calculated >$400 more taxes than Turbotax; endless problems with Canada Worker Benefit presentation, fields and calculation (eventual recommendation - phone for help); navigation mechanism still not improved; 17% price increase over last year
