Great Product but 20 users for two
The product is great, and I like the offline storage. I have a small home business so I use business version. However I only use the product for my spouse and my return and do not need to file 20 returns. I can't use the online version, so this is too expensive for just one return. It would be good to have another version. Unincorp Business, 2 returns.

Some shortcomings
Overall Turbo Tax is good but some frustrations: 1. I have always used a 6 character password to protect my files. Now I can't use that same password as they arbitrarily changed it to 8 characters.
2. I had to spend hours optimizing the combination of split pension income, medical expenses and donations to get the maximum result for myself.

Update Crashed my Returns
I have been using Turbo Tax for 10+ years and this was the first year I had any problems with the software. I was not happy when I had just about completed all 4 returns and an update changed my RRSP contribution room to over 21 million. When I phoned support I was told the easiest thing to do was start over. I had 2 small businesses that were just about done so not a happy camper to start over.

This year was kind of crappy.
Try importing your info from CRA through Turbotax and watch Turbotax crash; be prepared to re-enter everything all over again because when you press <next>, Turbotax didn't bother to save what you already entered. Watch the optimizer reduce your refund, forcing you to go back and fix the changes Turbotax recommends.
At the end, you won't be able to Netfile, because Turbotax keeps looping back to the profile page; you'll have to click on the <File> tab in order to exit this loop.

Frustrating this year
No possibility to have an email exchange with TurboTax when problems are encountered. Had to listen to music for 30 minutes and then did not receive a satisfactory answer. Unlike other software, it appears that TurboTax next year will not be backwards compatible with Windows 7. If so, after years of buying TurboTax I will have to look for tax software that is.

helpful in most parts
I had a problem with entering my self-employed income. from filling our the 'easy step' it somehow ended up as employment income instead of occasional earnings. When I contacted Turbo Tax they did not seem to give me the information I needed to be able to Netfile my Taxes.

not enough ability to navigate
as bookkeeper I wish to go back occasionally to the easy fill in form or see what I have done and always find it difficult to go back and forth in this program over the many years of using it

Medical receipt processing could be better
It is a pain to enter medical receipt information with easystep. Should allow import from a spreadsheet or text file that has required field names. should allow option to skip of carry forward so don't have to delete and maybe reenter when trying to optimize. edit/delete page should have date of medical receipt. Dates should be in yyyy-mm-dd format.

Not so Hot This Year
Okay, a few things need improvement!!
1. When I placed my mouse on a field within the forms and then did a left click, the field went blank and stayed blank until I moved my mouse onto another field and pressed left click. Totally frustrating, because if I changed the value in the field, I never knew what the new value was until I moved onto another field.
2. There should be a folder that takes you to the various optimizers! There isn't and it is difficult to find the various optimizers.
3. During the checkup, where the program suggests fixing items, there is a suggestion to optimize your charity giving, but there was NO LINK to the optimizer.

Better Than doing it manually
I tried your Support - it had a Script Error yet I have all the updates to the program.
I tried to find a keyword Internet. I could not find where to put the Internet charges for my home business. I put it in other expense but it only deducted 1/2 of charges. Also I wanted to know about the EI deduction. I wanted to go back and add $1000. to the amount of tax I paid. It was hard to find. When I used the search index nothing came up and no error message came up.

Save Bug
I spent hours filling in the forms, and then cannot save my return... get an error that my disk is full.
Had to restart, hours wasted. Been using TurboTax for years, will give them the benefit of the doubt this year.

Time consumming
This product is good for people with little tax knowledge and simple return. I ran into difficulties if I do not claim all RRSP contribution for the year. There is no way to apply 30k of deduction of a 40k contribution. Cannot split capital gain and loss for couples. Very difficult to import last year info if using different software. The online help is not good. It is good value for the money. Will prefer to spend more money on better software.

Search
I would like to be able to click on values in the detailed tax summary and have the 'easy step' jump to the forms that fed into this value. For example, clicking on RRSP value in summary would jump to the RRSP entry page. If there are multiple factors leading to this summary, then a tool tip showing them would be great. Then I can see how the values came about.

For the most part, have been very happy. Got to the end and wasn't able to netfile because of one error message (could not find answers in the community support), plus no number to call to get help. Ended up having to mail it in anyway. Not so helpful after all.

Product features
Have been using Turbo Tax forever and it does make it easier to do my taxes. ( I use the "form" selection). Don't know if it is TAXATION that is getting more complicated but it does seem to get more complicated every year. Turbo Tax isn't providing clear enough additional information when request on the tax form. In my case, it applies to a few situations.
One minor issue is why can't I not be able to go directly to a specific "LINE" number!
CRA always refers to a specific line for information. I thought TurboTax had this feature before. Anyhow there is a good chance I will still be using TurboTax next year.

Could be better
I would like Turbotax to provide more insights and information with regards to rental properties. I would appreciate it more if Turbotax is able to guide the users if there is a need to declare rental properties located in the principal residence. It seems like CRA is also vague on this and is not really putting the rules out in the open.

STOP THE CHEESY ADS
Please get rid of your ads. It makes your software look cheap. You are constantly marketing your other software and services. We pay a lot of money for your software. Is that not enough? But instead you make your software look like a used car salesman trying to sell us unnecessary things.

Autofill does not work properly
3 years in a row now, autofill does not work properly with Scotiabank investment receipts. The bank submits forms with cost of investment units to 3 decimal places, and TT refuses to load those properly. Units are also reported to 3 decimal places and won't load properly either. Makes autofill pretty much useless.

Not Quite there yet.
The T5008 import is not worthwhile.Too much information has to be entered personally.
Bringing up previous medical suppliers would be a great help.Also defaulting to self would also help.

Business Expert?
After paying the extra for the home and business edition each year for many years, I am still waiting for an improvement in the access to the business interview. I find it nearly impossible to move into the business expert interview in 'easy step'! I continually have to go to 'forms' and 'T1 general' and click there and then go back to the 'easy step' to continue. This has been a problem each year! Other than that frustration!! the business 'interview' is thorough and easy to follow. I just wish this access problem could be solved.
