Same problem for 3 years
For 3 years turbotax has had the same problem and hasn't fix it. Tried to get online help with no help. T4A with box 28 (other income) can not be inputted into the T2125 form. There answer was "yes turbotax can't do that" which doesn't help. Its a easy fix by putting in another Line in forms " Is this a business form Yes or No.

Trouble reviewing previous
Having a lot of trouble trying to look at a return I did last year. Keep getting messages like, There was an error loading this file.
Seems like it should be easy to review last year's return to check which medical deductions I included.

Needs a better help/search system
Some errors are impossible to fix or not fully explained what the required fixes are and it takes too long to find answers. Search for topics is a waste of time and you can't search for your own text entries. Some pages are masked from the sidebar menu and you have to progress through TOO MANY completed pages to get back to them.

Costly
On the business income you have to click modify to enter expenses why doesn't the program tell you to do that. I had to redo my entire tax because of that poorly outlined option.
I tried to ask questions about it but nothing worked.

NOT BAD SOFTWARE
THERE IS NOT ENOUGH FLEXIBILITY IN THE SOFTWARE TO ALLOW YOU TO OPEN A FILE, SAVE IT, THEN RETURN TO THE FILE AND MAKE CHANGES. IN TRYING TO CONTROL THE NUMBER OF COMPLETED TAX FILES TURBO TAX LIMITED THIS FLEXIBILITY. ADDITIONALLY, AFTER THE CRA SUBMISSION WAS COMPLETED AND NOT FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED I WAS CAUGHT IN A LOOP WHERE THE PROGRAM DID NOT WANT TO CLOSE.
IT CONTINUE ASKING IF I WANTED TO SAVE MY FILE, THAT THE FILE WAS CHANGED THEN ON TO THEIR ADVERTISING THEN BACK TO SAVE MY FILE AND SO ON. IT NEVER STOPPED.

Only easy if your situation is easy
After hours of trial and error, online searches and help page look-ups, I was not confident that all issues, and even a software bug was resolved. I kept getting issue message before filing. System is asking me forms that do not apply and mixing up my self employed revenue status with an employee on commission. I also can't seem to get anyone on a chat, so I am not able to finalize my taxes in 1 try. I am considering having my last 3 years reviewed by a professional as they vary too much from one another.

Good for Canadians without foreign revenue
Unfortunately that wasn't me. Over 50% of my income is from the USA. Trying to figure out what was under the Canada US Treaty and to get the amounts correctly entered into the Foreign Tax credit area was confusing. Apart from that, the guide was a good help and saved time.

Good if you are experienced
The interview process was much better in 2015 and prior. 2016 and up seems to have reduced the help file content and does not make the business interview portion very easy to use or understand. Price for paying for 2 returns is the same as for 20 which is frustrating. Would be nice if there was an option to choose lower returns for a lower fee.

Okay for the basics
Turbo tax is all right for most people. But, if you are reporting foreign pension income - the gap there has existed for several years. Turbo Tax also does not calculate any Social Benefits Repayments.

good software to deal with complex processing
can you improve the steps for us to go back to some missing items which we need to refill or to correct? say, give us a prompt asking us the questions like," do you want to change the entry or amount in such and such items or areas?" sometimes we dont even know if we got to the right place to make changes!

Love this product if taxes are straightforward
Love Turbo Tax Great if your taxes are straightforward. Not so good if you are self employed and running 2 businesses. Since T4A's are now used to report your commission income, TurboTax lumps the T4A's together into one T2125 even if the businesses are not related, i.e. Tupperware Sales rep with inventory and a Independent Travel Agent. This is wrong, as it makes life very difficult if you need to wrap up one of these businesses when they are lumped together. TurboTax needs to ask if you want the T4A's lumped together or kept separaate.

Pretty satisfied
I did not get to have my last year's turbo tax brought forward with the information that is usually copied form it onto the new one for this year automatically.
The guidance for self employed proprietors does not finish with telling you about where to put things like telephone and other stuff that should be asked, as it said that it would do so when the business is being run out of the home..
I lost a vehicle in a car accident and there was not indication as to howto report this. My capital cost allowance will remain high, I believe, because of this. there is need to be shown how to record the losses of such owned assets as they are not expensed all at one time but through depreciation and that depreciation never gets to "0". The balance of the Capital Cost on the item that is no more should be expensable against income in the tax year of loss.

Disappointed

DISAPPOINTED
I had to rely on the spreadsheet to be certain for all the amounts generated by the software. It did extremely poorly with the importation of tax receipts from the gov. I eventually had to add 0.01 (1 cent) every R1 in the T4-Releve combo. I also spent hours going back and forth trying to debug all tax information.

Awful interface on windows
I bought this program not realizing it was only for Windows. There was no indication on the site that it was Windows only until I saw the .exe file. Instead of returning it I ran the program on the Windows partition on my mac and it was not fun to use at all. I bought the professional review and ended up filing without getting the review. There was no simple popup asking me if I wanted to proceed without the review I had bought, which is terrible UI/UX.
I've used this program before for when I had a regular job with just a T4 and that is somewhat simple enough. Using this program for myself as a self-employed person and for my partner who is a student was a nightmare. Also next to no information for filing for a status Indian.

Issues with T4A & T2125
There are issues with Turbo Tax when reporting T4A's on form T2125. CRA is increasingly requiring those to pay fees (e.g. a company) to report fees paid to self-employed individuals on a T4A. If fees are reported in Box 048 on a T4A, then when entered in Easy Step, Turbo Tax immediately opens a new T2125 for each T4A. The problem is however, a self-employed individual may have several T4A's. There needs to be a way for multiple T4A's to all get reported on one T2125 where total costs for the business can be reported. After all, it is only one business, with several sources of revenue.

Too Complicated
Have used this software for many years and it seems to be getting more complicated year by year. I owe money but it is not clear how to use my bank account. I wanted to use my credit card to earn VISA points but the cost is unacceptable.

Long term turbo tax user
It would be nice to have an easier way to balance income/expenses for maximum tax return when you are splitting them between two or more people within the program. I had to toggle back and forth between several pages to find the best balance. It is a hassle. I think that last year there was something easier about it, but I cannot really remember how it worked.

worst version ever
I have used this product for many years, in its very first release (I forget the name), then Quick Tax, and finally Turbo Tax. This product has worked smoothly each year, until the 2017 return. Fields were sometimes hard to access, slow to record data, and even inaccurate: For example, the print page indicates a tax refund of $9,141.00, but the return (accurately, I believe) indicates $8,564.20.

Easy steps in business statement are not really helpful.
I chose to work with forms instead as it's much clearer where the numbers are going. I filled in all the boxes and when reviewing through easy steps everything was changed. It was a lost time.
There were a few other weak spots in this software which I don't remember now.
It's hard to decide if I can recommend this software as I haven't tried any other one.
Definitely this software can be improved. Of course it's better to do taxes with turbo tax then by hand.
