Difficult to Use for Refugees
This product is good for most Canadians, but is problematic for Refugee Claimants filing a first time return. The biggest problem was marital status. If you are common law and your husband remains in the country of origin, Turbotax doesn't know what to do with you. You have say "separated" even though your are still common law and have applied for refugee status for your husband. This not obvious from the documenation and means it forces you to make a different statement to tax authorities than the statement to the IRB regarding marital status.

frustrating
I have had issues with older returns and having to open them. The lack of downloads for updates on the site is ridiculous. Second, not being able to open old returns with newer year software again is ridiculous given the need to reference those returns etc.

2017 issues
I have used Turbo Tax for years... but this particular year has many glitches. It keeps saying program server is busy and closes program. I have tried it on different computers. Same outcome happens.

Latest version is a disaster
After using the program for many years and loving it, the 2019 version was difficult. Changing entries couldn't be done in the forms, the help files didn't work, going backwards and forwards was exceedingly tedious. Probably would work fine for a newbie, but this version is really annoying for the experienced user.

Should Be Updated.
Complicated and has not been updated in years.
The data base is very week when you ask a tax question.
Not all forms are available.
Would hope that it will be more intuitive in the future.

Difficult to go back to sections once filled in
The Business Turbo Tax is complicated. Sections not clearly separated. Tried for hours to find sections I had entered information in. At the end of the program they had me fix the things I had no luck in locating. Just a lot of wasted time.
Like the optimizer functions.

Crashed when connected to CRA
Program was broken for weeks before they fixed the download updates issue, & a fix was nearly impossible to find, no access to Support from the company. It hung/crashed when connected to CRA & CRA couldn't produce an Express Notice of Assessment, then TurboTax when I got it running again, reverted to prior to my having Netfiled my taxes, so it looked like I hadn't filed. Then it let me Netfile again & gave the same confirmation # so I don't know if I'll have issues with CRA.

Weird Bugs and Errors
Software automatically assigned benefits that weren't applicable and then raised Warnings to fix them. This led to screens for entry that I had never seen prior. In addition, TIP for entry to transfer of Tuition between spouses led to a screen that, once entered, could not be found again to alter. Overall a rather confusing and non-intuitive flow.
Previous years did not have these issues and the same tasks were performed...

Great software - poor support
Have used this software for years. Great and easy to use. Frustrated the last 2 years with the quality control / support. It's taken a lot of time to work through a couple of issues that prevented me from submitting my tax return. Mostly getting access to proper technical support.

Error after Error
I was forced to download windows fixes on 3 occasions to address operating errors and although Intuit seemed to know about them based on the company feedback forums - they were less than helpful.

Not suitable for Self-employers
I found that the software skipped some very important windows of the Return that I had to go back and fill out manually to reap all the financial benefits to keep my tax obligations low or negative.

Frustrated with an expensive program
Price keeps going up. TurboTax wants to promote other up-grades..... There are problems in the program such as not printing every form necessary for CRA and I had to go outside of TurboTax to get answers. I have been a user of this program since it first came out.

2018 Review
Very frustrated this year. Tried the online version and it would only fill out by answering the many, many questions. I could not look at any forms, so wound up purchasing the resident on your "C" drive version. Also when completing as a couple - married, common-law- whatever - 2 returns it would only allow you to take one persons info from 2017. The other persons info besides - name and SIN etc had to be sorted through and manually added in - again very frustrating!!!

Frustration
I am not impressed with some features, I can not print the review summary. Too many pages to print for a simple return. , should be a simpler form (check out U file).
I had to return to find Medical and charitable after I checked the boxes for fill in.

Be wary of optimizers
Medical expense optimizer algorithm is too simple (puts on lowest net income) which would have resulted in loss of over $1300 in refund if not notice and manually corrected. Donation optimizer did not offer to carry forward $400 which was not usable this year.
