Living Abroad - Super Easy and Helpful
Definitely a great way to file taxes, even if you live abroad. The foreign income section was very helpful and helped us avoid double taxation. The help centre has lots of great resources.
First time doing it on my own and it didn't take long to set up, input the information and complete.

Taxes for Dummies!
Very simple process. Turbotax walks you through each step of the way and provides opportunities to optimize tax savings and ensure all deductions are identified. Have used for the past two years and it makes taxes relatively painless.

Lifesaver
I have used TurboTax for years. I have a rental property which can be challenging, but TT keeps me organized and confident that I am keeping track of all expenses and reporting them correctly ... all for an affordable price, and at a time that works for me. It reduces the stressfulness of 'getting it right'.

Medical portion
Needed help with this ,this year. Entered 3 medical claims and used end date of my 12 month period for each. Then inputed my 12 month period in next screen. Did not accept totals. TT support suggested I reduce the date inputed for each claim by one day from the overall 12 month period; it worked ?? One of those mysteries of life in the electronic world !

User friendly
Doing taxes takes focus and time. I do mine (and my husband's) over a couple of days. What I like about this software is that it "thinks" quickly and always puts you back where you left off. The bookmarks are a great way to make notes so you can return for a fix or confirmation.

Convenient for shared investments
Premier edition works well for calculating taxes when there are shared ownership on investments (reported on T3, T5, T5013, T5008). These are 50-50 jointed owned by spouses so reported amounts must be divided for each spouse's taxes. TurboTax does this simply, with a checkbox on the data entry form.
>>>Note: it appears you need to enter the values manually though, as when tried using the feature of autoloading T-slips from CRA into TurboTax, the ability to split them 50-50 is greyed out. Also, no way to convert a form that reports in US$ to CDN$. So need to enter them all manually. More work, but can ensure everything is accounted for correctly.

easy interface
the turbo tax program is a great interface which guides the user through all the steps, saving the information at every step. easy to add steps deductions and other last minute additions. Turbo Tax is an excellent and affordable alternative to handwritten, mailed in tax forms.

Great value
We used to take our taxes to a professional accountant, which cost over $400. Our tax situation is not very complicated, so we thought we'd try TurboTax and file for ourselves. Once you get the hang of it, it is very easy to use, and we are able to get a similar return like we've always had. Highly recommended.

Pain Free Filing!
Turbo Tax has been my tax software for a few years now. I love that it brings in previous years' files to speed the process. It prompts all the right questions to find all the tax deductions. It truly is 'pain free'.
