Simple until it isn't
Been using TT for years and it's been fine. A lot cheaper than going somewhere else. Until this year. Two weeks before I could file 2025 Taxes, I got a notice of reassessment having me pay out over $900. I filled out everything truthfully and completely and somehow I had to give almost then entire return back. Will try it once more in 2025 as I have no significant changes.

Better than H&R Block or free gov preparer
There should be a discount on the fee for seniors especially those who are low income. I keep an Excel spreadsheet throughout the year so it is easy to fill in the boxes.

Great Purchase
I have used for several years. My only comment would be that the Help topics be more intuitive. When looking for help on where to put an amount, it is difficult to find the actual area as to where to put the amount. Mainly it is an amount on a rebate report.

Disappointed
The layout and format was not as user friendly as past versions. Program missed requesting spousal tax information even though completing together had been selected. Will use again but less confident to recommend to others.

I found ithard to return to places I've been I didn't check because I din't know how to accessmy foreign tax credits harder to navigate this year. return to
I was unsuccessful in filling out form T1170 for charitable donations of stocks even with the help of a turbo tax employee There was no option to input the files and it did not get to item no 68230 or line 17400 in part 4 of scedule 3

Tax Back Before the Toast Was Cold

Questionable Value
I have been using TurboTax for quite a few years now. I use a MAC and pay a pretty hefty premium for their MAC version, and it jumped in price by 25% this year. I do not get any loyalty discounts even though I get emails from them all year about discounts - not sure who actually gets them - but certainly not repeat customers.
Otherwise the product is quite user friendly.

Over priced
Have used Turbo Tax for over 30 yrs, this is first year using the online program and it took a while to understand it as it differs from the downloaded version quite a bit. It certainly was convenient to do my taxes while out of country but not worth the money !!!

FRUSTRATED
Because of Turbo tax's push to charge more for their services and keep trying to upgrade the service during the filling out of the taxes, I had to redo the taxes just to make sure I had not agreed to any upgrades. The upgrade is preselected by Turbo tax!!

some changes this year in interface
I like the new format - or Im just becoming more comfortable using TT. My only gripe is I expected a 40% discount - presumably for loyalty - which I did not receive but I need to file today

Good but not that good
Have been using Turbo Tax for some years and was disappointed to find my filing fee was $100.00 for both my wife and self. When I started my return it was indicated my fee would be $80.00. What happened? I couldn't even figure out how to get a reduction coupon. Way to go Turbo Tax.

Good, but ...
Very easy to use mostly. Generally clear and easy to use guide through the process. But,
Entry of T-Slips is awkward and the explanation provided is not clear when a slip has been downloaded from CRA website.
The warning and error messages often do not apply and it's really hard to understand why the software even thinks they should apply. Awkward and inefficient process of reviewing the messages and of indicating they do not apply.

Can be better
Turbo tax programming needs to eliminate system errors. In income after entering data from CRA had a "random" unexplained entry which we could not delete.
AI help responses inadequate. cannot respond to simple requests.. eg need a comparison of this year to last year. Why not say "will be provided once you continue past the review" eg. Senior property tax grant error. .. Fix ... Why "need to specify what the payment was for"

Version en ligne vs CD
La version en ligne est beaucoup moins intéressante à utiliser que la version Windows sur desktop. Le fait de ne pas avoir accès aux annexes et feuille de travail rend cette version beaucoup moins conviviale et nécessite beaucoup plus de temps pour produire les rapports. Vous devriez vraiment considérer offrir la même qualité de produit pour le service en ligne que pour la version CD autant pour Windows que pour MAC

Missed the Useful header
Previous years there was a header where it was easy to get back to tax areas, and there was a little box on the left where I could view the taxes owing etc as I worked through the forms that was useful.
