Great, with minor glitches
Regarding T5013’s your system accepts only 8 of 9 numbers in first ‘ID’ field and 4 instead of 3 in 2nd field. Needs a fix.
Also, I could not e-file my return until I fixed an incorrect industry code number even though no error was identified in your system on any of my multiple T5013’s.

Good, but could be better
- Turbotax has an internal limit on the number of T5008s you can input. The limit is too limited and not communicated ( you have to phone in to find this out - waste time).
- then the only work around is to bulk T5008s and enter with a made-up date . . not ideal.
-Please fix;
Other problem was turbotax text of codes never came thru, I always had to choose "tel call" to receive code; again another time waster.

Satisfactory
Have used TurboTax for number of years. I am happy with them. Made fairly easy to complete tax returns. I would like to see basic plan include more personal help as a senior as I never feel overly confident on what I’m doing but can’t afford the more extensive plans. Will continue to use them.

A step down from last year
This year, to file 2024 Canadian tax return, there was a step down in usability. Now there is a kind of "workflow" that tries to guide you through "what's done", "what's next", etc. My experience is I always have to go back and correct/update things, and this workflow is much more confusing that last year, where there was a kind of "table of contents" view of your return on the left-hand side of the screen, which made it really easy to step forward/backward. I would strongly suggest returning the table of contents view and drop this workflow concept.

Great Purchase
I have used Turbo tax for several years, one suggestion is to make the HELP/FAQ easier. I have tried to find details on something and it is hard to find answers as they are not sorted by year or even subject sometimes. This year I had to call to get an answer.

Format changed
Format and navigation are changed making the experience a little frustrating. Will need to become accustomed to it.

Tax Entries Not Often Sequential
Tax entries are not often sequential. There can be a lot of going up and down the return entering information as tax files come in and are available. The software as is is cumbersome in its format assuming everything is sequential entry and no clear bookmarks for items like entering RRSP information. There is a lot of duplicate questions and entry of information if you go back. Also what is up with the tax credits. Example: Ontario property tax credit. There is no context on what income level is required to be elgible for it or some of the other tax credits. The trillium tax deduction/credit section was very confusing - did I qualify or did I not. It really wasn't clear.

Software bug - QC returns
A significant issue for those filing spousal returns in Quebec.
The software in 2024 dropped the ability to Transfer Refund from my return to Spousal return (lines 476, 477); this feature had been available in prior years. Hopefully to be remedied for 2025.
Also, likely NOT a TurboTax issue but QC income does but deductions at source do NOT get transferred within tax slips imported from the CRA. Each slip must be edited individually to complete this data.
Frustrating !!!

Suggestion for entering investment income
This year was more onerous because of CRA missing the majority of T3/T5 slips. Many of the boxes on the slips don't show on the summary pages. It would be helpful if there was a way to generate a list showing these boxes, ideally something that could be used to cross-check with past years as-filed return schedules.

Hard to find things
I find the app hard to navigate. It is trying too hard to hide complexity, which makes it difficult to find where numbers in the summary are coming from. Also you can't see the T1 until you submit.

User Friendly
Once access to CRA was obtained, boxes were completed with no errors and sped up the return process. Was able to complete my tax form in 30 minutes.

don't think the new format is an improvement
I file jointly with my spouse, and the separation between the T4 inputs is very unclear. missed it the first time through. The index that used to be on the LHS of each screen was handy for moving back and forth between headings and I don't think the new version is an improvement.

Scammed
i clicked one box that forced me to upgrade ($20) or restart my entire tax return. There was no option to undo this and it didnt save me any money. I feel scammed.

Pretty good. Better than doing it manually
It works well but I had a major issue. It told me I had an error missed a date on one of my T5008 but would not tell me which one. I had over 70 entries and had to look at each one until I found the error. Same issue with one entry showing an investment income loss. It did not tell me which one to correct. This has to be an easy fix for next year.

Not as Good as Last Year
I found the interface to be a little awkward this year. Switching between my spouse's and my return was a little glitchy as times. I had to manually navigate to enter my spouse's info. The help menu and FAQ tabs were not as detailed as previous years. Perhaps turbotax is softly encouraging customers to pay for the extras. It did not help that the CRA did not have any T slips this year to download automatically into the 2024 return but that's another matter.

Convenience and time saving
I have used Turbo Tax for several years now. I have been happy with its results and how easy it is to complete my tax returns through it. Love the product and it always gives lets you know of new benefits or savings one can have if one is unaware. It has been a great purchase yearly.
