ok but?
More difficult to use compared to previous years, (maybe my age?) it seems to miss input, and the "help" you need is at another premium level!
I will check out other options for next year.

I never knew that I owed money on my tax return until after I had completed my return. If I had known that, I would have transferred some donations over to my wife. The value of both returns should always be available somewhere. There should always be a Save button or feature available.
TurboTax was somewhat easier to use than last year's version.

Use of CRA download
Overall great product. This year I had a challenge with the CRA download of slips. Most showed up on the summary screen but one did not due to length. There was no button to accept those that had been received even though I could view. Only to add maually.

Refund Missing
I have used Turbotax for several years and have always been pleased with the various programs. However, this year I chose to use the "Full Service Deluxe". After examining what was necessary i.e. uploading information, I used a different program and was pleased with the results. Because one pays for the Deluxe program upfront, I requested a refund for that charge on my credit card. I have not been contacted by Turbotax at this point in time.

Suggestions
While Turbotax is relatively easy to use there are some sections that need more explanation - a pop-up box would be more useful than having to look it up in "help".
1. The foreign investment page should specify to insert "gross" or "net" investment income and to insert the amounts "as is" (in the foreign currency amt) and NOT convert them to Cdn$. In addition a pop up box could indicate to use the Bank of Canada average annual exchange rate (or the exchange rate on the specific day of receiving the investment income).
2. The pages should be printable. I often print some of the pages as I go along so I can refer to them next year for consistency. However the side bar info often overlaps the info on the page to makes the printout hard to read and makes TurboTax look like a poor product.
3. List alerts and warnings together (just call them "alerts"). A "warning" should only be to point out potential mistakes while something that I may have missed for extra credit could be an "alert". Typically i find that none of the "alerts or warnings" are relevant.
In general it is a good product and have used it for several years. Most of it goes smooth and i think i will be done quickly, but then I hit sections (such as the confusing foreign income page) and i lose pace and don't feel as confident using the program. I do find the lack of page printability bothersome each year.

costs
I used to be able t file 5 returns for nothing! This year even if you have a very small investment return the minimum is 45. Not very fair for poor seniors!

Hard to import
It was impossible for me to import last years info into this years file. After going around in circles three times creating new accounts and passwords I finally gave up and typed all my details in longhand.

Still Deciding
I always do a quick manual return to get an idea of my situation. Unfortunately, Turbo Tax does not let me see individual return lines applicable to me...so I can not determine if I have understood the "question panels and filled them out correctly". Phone support could not help, so I have to do the entire return manually to review and also assume everything is correct and not missed.

House sale confusing
I sold a house in Newfoundland that was my principal residence for 2 of the 18 years I owned it. I found your support on this to be confusing. I submitted the numbers and I'm still unclear if this is calculated into the final submission.

Getting easier
I noticed more sections already filled in and I just had to continue. I noticed it seemed more intuitive. I was a bit confused about a couple of things but all in all it's getting easier to use and shorter time wise. I just wish it was a bit more resonable still.

Great software
Software is great and easy to use, however there could be additional consolidation of pages and a reduced push for CRA oriented accounts and automation which would result in increased streamlining throughout the filing process.

A bit pricey
Software is decent, price (with audit protection) is a bit high ($100). I received a 20% off email offering and it doesn't work. That's pretty disappointing for a well established company like this.

Auto Fill Issues
The Auto Fill feature is great as long as you do not have too many files. TT then gives you an Oops error message and you have to hand enter all your records. If the CRA can take in all my tax records (T5008s) then TT should be able to read them. Hand entering took an extra two days and could have lead to errors.

No simpler
A quote usually attributed to Einstein is that explanations should be as simple as possible - but no simpler. This online version of Turbotax is a little too simple. I found it impossible to verify some figures I wasn't sure about and I didn't have sufficient information or understanding to answer all of the questions. So I guessed. I hope I guessed right.

Straightforward Tax Return
The product was quite simple to use and navigation between areas has improved. Unfortunate that although we received emails offering a discount (most recently 40% off) there was no discount code included in the email to apply to the return.

Overall good but...
You need to fix glitch I have reported no self employement and an error message says prov of self employment does not match province of residence which prevents from e-filing.
I had to put in prov of self employ although i have none in order to e-file

Room for Improvement
Does a reasonable job but there are some improvements which I would like to see.
- Because the exchange rate has to be included in foreign income, the natural inclination is to insert the income in the original currency. Either take out the exchange rate requirement or add a note that income is to be inserted in Canadian currency.
- It's easy to split pension income with one's spouse. How about a similar process for splitting investment income.
- If an anomaly is noted in the year over year comparison, it's very difficult to trace the reason. It would be nice just to click on the comparison item of interest and see its component parts.

Pretty Good but...
It was going well until I got to the T5013 section. It let me enter data but refused to let me go any further. I had to close the browser and start again. Luckily I only had to enter the T5013 info again.

Turbox tax 2023 online version
Overall easy to use but would recommend have more guide for each info box need to input information. And sometime some of the box required further outcome from some of CRA T forms, if can provide further guidiance on how to come up with the outcome would be much better.
