Good, but hard to make changes
Good program but going back to make changes to something is really confusing and not easy to find.
Also, I am pretty sure the price has increased substantially:( boo to that. Should be no more than 30$ per person to file on this kind of format. May look elsewhere next year.

Needs A Little Improvement
Easy to use and navigate as always, but why does the website still think that I am in the U.S. when I've been right here in Canada the whole time? I haven't been to the U.S. in over thirty years! Website needs some upgrading/tinkering for this issue.

Filed in less than an hour
Used this great tax tool. Some questions were hard to navigate as I know nothing about takes, but I made it through especially as it was able to pull a lot of my info directly from CRA. The system did crash just as I was about to pay the turbotax fee and file...the puppy dog did help, but it was terrible thing to happen just as I was finished.

Change is not always a good thing
the old version let you simply input t slips. now you have to go through an elaborate interview to enter your data. you could also see the return in real time. Now you don't get that till after you have finished the return and paid for it. I would rather pay to open the file and see it real time in progress

Overpriced
I use the premier version along with 3 others in my family. I feel at this price point Turbotax is overpriced. I like the software and it's easy to use but should be cheaper. Also in the last two years I've been struggling with the activation code and had to call support. Works on one screen but not the other.

2023 Review
Program makes assumptions you know what needs to be done and is not 100% clear. There is no ability to see what the T1135 looks like prior to paying for the Program and this review will be much more helpful than the Year over Year Comparison. Finally, after the payment is made and a PDF is presented of the entire T1135 ready to be printed, the Print is not fit to the page and is cut short on the Right Hand Side but still legible.

Good Product not cheap
been using this for years, solid product, no complaints, be nice to see them toss a guy a coupon code for using year over year over year, also, doesn't seem to be a way to down grade products, don't need the premium return for my situation anymore but seems i'm stuck with it

Back here now returns are less complex
Definitely more user friendly and less clunky than others. Ask questions and provides basic reference materials if chosen. Error checking and warnings are there and I appreciate them for double/triple checking. Easy to go back and modify information entered prior to upload to CRA. Some other vendors are no more than a glorified paper return with some basic features. Did get a error from CRA netfile as an approved DTC recipient somehow showed up in spouses return. Unsure what Turbotax software did there. The DTC was in my filing.

Basically very good but.....
Answering the questions that were already answered previously got repetitive and took up too much time. For eg. answered "no" to RRSP, FHSP, etc and still had to go through these - twice!
Otherwise, it is simple to use and cost effective

Pension Sharing
Why doesn't the SW automatically give a pension split option when T4(A) Box 16 is filled in. I had to search for this and afterwards CRA said I did not qualify (under 65) but this does not apply to eligible pensions in Box16. I almost paid an extra $2500 - others will.

It's not getting better
I've used TT fro many years and the slow but steady dumbing down of the user experience and the constant push to upgrade is annoying to say the least. Forcing an upgrade for one slip is BS.

I received an emal with 20% ff coupon. last year I called and the guy gave me the coupon code to enter. This year I wasted 45 minutes on the phone trying to get this code. Tried everythingon the glance ect. I offered to share my screen and show my email on the phone. She said that they cannot use the phone email screen. very dissappointing for this senior to not bve able to receive 20% off. been using turbo tax for 30 years! too bad because I like the product

Easy to Use but...
Been using Turbo Tax for years but this year I had to file a 1042-S. I was forced to pay $40 to upgrade so I can file this but saw no difference in added features. It was either pay the money or risk getting audited - such a disappointment and money grab scheme.

A lot of upselling

Audit warning and Capital Gains
Why don't you change the software so that when completing profile and asking if you have a T5008 and sold any stock or mutual funds, the question says "have you sold any stock or mutual fund not reported on a T5008" . If you say yes to both then it wants you to complete the information twice resulting in duplicate entries.
Also why are you telling me I'm at audit risk for the following" and then not saying what the audit risk is. Just a scam to get people to purchase your audit risk protection

Great, with some possible caveats
Very easy to use, very happy. Just some caveats: (1) if you choose to have it get info from tax slips in your CRA account, and do this twice, make sure things do not upload twice. And also check that every box of information gets imported. (2) It does not do a great job in determining which spouse of a couple should claim which expenses to maximize combined return. I had to switch back and forth to get best result. (3) Alternate minimum tax: if you need to pay this, one cannot see the details until return is completed, and then the only thing to see is if one looks at carry-over amounts for the next year. And the actual form included in the T1 return is only viewable after paying and submitting return. Intuit should show details of the amounts on the form before "completing:" everything.

Used for Years
I have bought and used Turbotax for over 20 years. I have found it efficient and accurate. My only complaint is that this year it is all online. Previous years I had used the provided CD. I preferred that method because I could navigate the menu if needed an jump back and forth from the easy setup to the actual forms. I would prefer to go back to that method.

better every year
The program gets better every year. I still have a few hiccups with the RRSP optimizer; it doesn't work on my computer for some reason. Some line item questions are still not answered by the software and I have to go to the CRA website for answers.

Good system hard to edit
I filled out my whole return one time with my partner as a common-law partner. close to the end I realized we were one month short of legal common law so I attempted to change the return for 30 minutes. I kept having errors while trying to netfile so I started a new return in order to rectify the issue. The only problem is turbotax charged me the $40 fee twice. I hope that I can get the double charge rectified otherwise I won't be using them again.
