Wish they didn't force an upgrade
Very good software, loved it for years, but this year, with COVID, it lacked the T2200 for teachers, and the option to claim a specific amount of days worked from home.
Additional expense was weird. Same exact return but forced to upgrade.

I wish I could use on my Mac
We have a MacBook Pro. We purchased TurboTax from Costco because we could do up to 10 returns for one price. We were unable to use it as it is only for Windows and ended up having to pay for each return online. That is very frustrating and discriminatory based on what operating system I have.

2021 Edition not as good as previous
This year's program seems to be more difficult to navigate. seems to be repeating sections rather than going to next section. The advertising for enhance services starting to be anoying.

Very good, but…
Overall, an excellent product and great user experience. That said, was disappointed that a T3 slip with less than $50 in trust income (from a fund) triggered a mandatory upgrade to the Premier version which added ZERO additional value aside from simply being able to file my return. This was not a locked form in the past, and certainly provided no additional insight, savings, etc. to justify the added cost. I’ve been a big fan of TurboTax overall, but this felt like a pure cash-grab and will likely lead me to consider other options next year. Just increase the price overall (as you have, I think), or charge me more and provide more value… but to charge me more for something that meant NOTHING to my overall return just left a bad taste in my mouth. You guys are better than these kind of tricks… don’t give loyal advocates of your company a reason to feel annoyed.

Easy, Convenient, but you pay for it
I like Turbotax (I use the online service) and will likely keep on using it. It does force you to opt for the Premier return vs. the Deluxe for any investment amounts, even if they are very basic.

Don't buy then go online
Bought deluxe online at Costco then as instructed went online - but unknown to me the software went to the Premier version, so at the end I had to pay an additional 80$ with tax. There was little indication of this when I loaded the software. Next year I will not buy a version ahead of time - waste of money...

T1135!!!!
You usually watch out that folks don't miss anything. I almost missed filing my T1135.
It is off-putting that I have to tab back to find it and file it as a separate filing.
So unlike the rest of the software.
If a person has a T1135 to file, TurboTax should ask if it should file both the T1135 and the T1; or one or the other. Hope this is fixed. I now realize I have to go back and FILE my mum's T1135 -- I had assumed both went when I did her taxes. Apart from that most is good. But then I have been using this software for eons.

only recommendation is to correct the situation that allows double counting of capital gains. only this year did I realize that I had entered data myself from T5008 forms that had already been automatically entered. A (larger?) red flag needs to come up to prevent this. As a result, I have overpaid every year since I have used TT.

look out for verification after first sign on
Ridiculous that you re prompted to verfiy yourself aaftr signing in first time., especially if you have canged your phone number! They do not honor same day service as noted on website if wish to change phone number.

Didn’t like automatic upgrade, unable to change
I only had $159 in dividends, no major impact on my return. When I claimed it turbo tax automatically upgraded my package, couldn’t change it back to standard package. I would have filed without dividend declaration as cra would have picked it up from their records on file.

Easy to use, but....
It is easy to use to complete you taxes, but ran into technical problems with the website not working (hanging and not recovering). But no technical assistance is available, or if it is, I could not find it. Calling there help number is useless (just a computer). Finally solved the problem by trying different web browsers. There should be technical assistance readily available if it isn' working. If so, I would have given 5 stars.

Good but could improve
This product covers all of the basic work I need to be done and is reasonably easy to use but some basics could improve.
I find it quite awkward to start and I have to bookmark the sign in page, once I can find it, as there is no good obvious sign in link like there used to be.
This year, basic info, like Medical calculations, was unattainable. I tried Help but no luck. There used to be an index of information.
Some pages that were filled in cannot be reviewed for info, again Medical calculations.

In past years, TurboTax has "recommended" that we upgrade from the basic version. For the 2021 tax year, TurboTax forced us to upgrade (seems like having T3 forms, which we have had for years, was the trigger). We did not appreciate this change. Otherwise, it is a good product. But we will consider using a less expensive competitor next year.

Quick and Easy

Live Expert capability glitchy
Would have upgraded to include Live Expert capability but it didn't work so I cancelled the upgrade and just used Premium; other than this it is the same trusty easy-to-use TurboTax. Loved that I could import tax slip info without typing each amount in.

Great Taxtime Plan
