forced to upgrade to premier
I should fall under standard return. I don't have any rental or investment income. not sure why I was forced to upgrade to the premier account. I already spent 3+ hours filing my wife and my returns. I didn't want to start all over again so I just paid the difference.

Easy to use

I just wanted to let every user know to get the promo code first. I did my whole return along with my spouse and could not change the package to the regular from Premier and then had no code to get any kind of reduction in price. Super frustrating!

Could be better
I really like the website it's easy to use. An enhancement I think would really be useful is the ability to drill into any number on the summary pages. Sometimes it's difficult to make sense on the summary page but a click on any number should take you right to where it's coming from with an explanation.

Best software for Tax
This is a pretty helpful software, especially for those who claim tax refund for the first time. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow even though you know nothing about tax!

Loyalty PaysOff
Simple and easy to use, prepayment saved me $$$ as well loyalty got me a free upgrade to premier. Even though the online chat room dropped me, customer service through the phone really saved my opinion of turbotax. Cheers

Good progam
I have used this for several years. Progarm is very easy to use and it provides good informationguidance on indifivual tax items through the help option. Questions or helpful info from other 'users' is limited.

Flexible and Easy
I really like the stability of the online software. I have had no issues with lost info or unsaved work. It's also nice to be able to jump anywhere in your return at any time.
The inline help system is quite good but could use a bit more depth and should eventually be kept within the Intuit interface rather than bringing the user out to Government sites etc..
I would also like to see more guidance for novice/intermediate investors in the step by step format.

the unexpected
Found going back to correct information was not always safe. Some of the settings changed. Then at the end could not go back once the unknown change was discovered. Not the most comforting moment.

Quick, accurate and easy to use
I have used this program for two years to file my taxes, and previously did it by hand using paper tax packages from the Government. I find TurboTax is easier to use, especially when my tax situation changes. It's accurate in filing my return, and easy to use. I've worked at software companies in the past, and found this program to be bug and error free while using it. I found it a bit tricky to get back to make a change on previously entered data, but overall that was minor compared to how helpful the program was.

Relief for the Last minute filer
Turbo Tax is vey easy to use, a great relief when I dig out what I need and prepare to file at the last minute. The program flows so logically and allows me to go back very conveniently to correct any errors.

Could not get live answer
Tried to get some answer but could not get the answer from the online chat session or from the community.
For online chat, wait time was 45 minutes and thus ended up stopping the chat session without getting the answer to the questions

recommended with reservations
The product is very good in what it does. Some pages were difficult to understand, especially if data had to be repeated. Some pages (and data) got duplicated by mistake, and were terribly difficult to correct. However, the technical assistance by telephone eventually solved my problem, even though the technician had to refer to her supervisor for help. They were cooperative and helpful.

Still needs work
This review is for the online Premier version.
Cons: It seems to have no option to use the "forms" method. I am used to that method and it is much quicker to complete and review during the entry process. My return is fairly complex so using the "Turbotax for dummies" approach is very tedious and time-consuming. It needs a "forms" option and navigating between parts of the return is cumbersome.
Pros: It got the job done though and perhaps it forced to me look at options the forms method wouldn't have.

Excellent value
Very easy to use. Can easily allocate tax slips between spouses so only enter information once. However, missing a few boxes on the T5013 screen when compared to the tax slips provided.

Easy to use
Very straightforward and easy to use. One improvement would be, somewhere in Step 1, to highlight all financial information being carried forward from previous years e.g. capital losses. Such information is difficult to find later on in the program.

Frustrating to get started
I had trouble finding my info from last year. when trying to open info I was told there wasn't a program to open it with. No answers posted. When I started to file I didn't notice for a while I was doing 2012. Shut down start again. Once bugs were worked out It wasn't too bad. I just hope the info from last year was carried forward.
