Good but needs Improvement
It is good but needs significant improvement in the Rental Information category..it mistakenly sent out information on rental properties that I do not own. I have been using it for the last 4 years, but still found it difficult to use. They should redesign it using feedback from users.

Takes Practice
Annual improvements make it easier to use for novices, but harder for return users to use because of changed formats and difficulty of going back, reviewing areas of interest or confirming data was entered correctly. ie. T slip summaries showed only some of the boxes entered, raising the question of an input error.
The extra charge for going to "Premier" to calculate capital gain/loss on funds or securities is unwarranted. This info is provided by financial institutions.

Been using Quicktax for years
It can save you money. Was able to save thousands when the tax speedometer caught an error in my T4. I miss the thermometer on the online version. Also the date format is not standardized to the international standard of YEAR/MONTH/DAY which is confusing. The flow through system is interesting but it is difficult to just jump in and simply check or change a particular value as you often need to repeat many sections.

Pretty Good
A good effort, but like all its kind it makes little or no allowance for human frailty and human variability. If you make a mistake you can find yourself in computer gehenna without a door.

Good Value and User Friendly
Easy to use. Would like to be able to click on the amounts on the detailed summary and be taken to where or how those numbers were determined. Otherwise, it is a great product and cheap.

OK experience
2013 was our first year filing our taxes as a married couple. Both of us filed individual tax returns in previous years using the services of Chartered Accountants. We found Turbotax overall to be easy, however somewhat frustrating at the same time. It would be easier if the corresponding number on the T4 for example was also present.

a bit expensive
A bit difficult to follow at first but after one return it is relatively easy to follow. Net filing is very easy - much improved over the previous versions

"But for" non-printing
Great product but I really miss inability to print out tax summaries: year over year, basic, and detaied. Any reason why this can't be done? Could be done a few years ago, then had to move to screen capture, and now seems can't be done at all. Doesn't seem to be an oversight but deliberate. What's the rational?

Great, but improvements needed
Turbotax makes it very easy to do your income tax. I also appreciate the online Chat advice, although the quality of advice can vary sharply among those giving it.
I have an iMac and wish there was a disk version of this program for my computer. We are restricted to the online version, which is more expensive.
We would also like the opportunity to print our return before filing so that we can look over the printed version before finalizing it.

Income splitting could be handled in a way that describes what is going to be done and how it will be done to assure the user that the split will be the best split possible for the couple.

I found Turbotax excellent for those residing within Canada the full time. However, it's short-coming was in that it does not allow for those temporary workers who return to their country of origin before the end of the financial year. I found that I had to claim to be a resident the full year and, was unable to insert a non-Canadian address or telephone number in my details. To claim to be a 'deemed resident' would also not work as the provincial tax component is than not included.

Turbotax saved me money !!! I would never have realized that I could transfer as much pension income from my husband to myself, as turbotax recommended. I had some difficulty with the printing instructions at the end since I wanted to print and mail my tax forms. I also had a problem obtaining the 20% discount because the email that I received did not include a code that I think it was supposed to include. I had to phone for assistance to get the discount.
I have used Turbotax for a number of years, and I anticipate continuing to use it. It really saved me a lot of money ! I am VERY pleased.

Improved over last year
Turbo Tax is much improved over last year. The entries all follow a logical process, and the descriptions of the information required is very clear. There is one thing that I would like changed though. I would like to see a calculation of the capital gains prior to filling the return. The calculation is made, but there detailed report is not available to the user until after filing.

First Time user!
We always used to go to someone to get our taxes done. THis year we decided to try an online service.We actually won a discount on using Turbo Tax. So of course tried. After using their program it was so simple to use and online service to help if it was needed! Totally going to use this service for 2014 taxes!

Where do I claim _ _ _?
Easy to follow but need more A.I. for questions like if I ask "Where do I claim rent?" I wish it would take me directly to a page that says "I understand you would like to claim _ _ _ _ _? then I would answer yes and then the program should would take me directly to the page to enter the info or ask more question like "OK lets see if you can claim _ _ _ _." then ask more questions.

Easy and helpful
I have used TurboTax for the past 4 years roughly. This year i was able to do everything online and edit multiple times before sending. Very easy to use. Made simple for everyone to do without pulling out your hair. I will continue to use each year and have and will recommend to friends.

It would be helpful if TruboTax removed 'empty' forms automatically so users wouldn't have to go back and delete entries for CCA, UCC, etc. with zero values. Leaving these zero entries in TurboTax resulted in the program diagnosing errors when completing a review and asking for erroneous information such as the address of a personal business when no personal business existed.

Very good product
TurboTax is easy to use. I've been using it for the past 7 years and have never had a problem. The only thing I would ask is that it gave you an option to downgrade to the level of software you require. I didn't need the Standard version, but couldn't find an option other then starting over and deleting my current return, in order to go back to the Basic version.

Premium option
Overall satisfied but I bought the premium package which included a telephone review to discuss my pension splitting and with being fourth in the queue the waiting time was not worth the time idle at the computer so I thought that purchase option may have been excessive. Therefore I did not use the interview option.

Simplify filing your taxes
I was apprehensive about using the on-line version of Turbotax, but it proved to be straightforward and easy to navigate. I have used Turbotax for the last few years and each year it has improved...but this year was much easier to get around.

Good Software
The software is comprehensive and guides the user through everything step by step. There could be a few improvements (why ask a retired person if they are a student or a farmer? and the explanations could be clearer), but it is good value for the money. I recommend Turbotax.

Overall, program is good. Not completely clear in some parts - ie for a joint return, when assigning % amts to interest income, instructions on how to enter were a little vague (ie just enter for one spouse, or enter for both spouses)
