Decent tax program - could use some improvements
It would be much nicer to be able to see the forms as we could with the old quick tax program. Also when optimizing the deductions with a spousal return, the program does not necessarily put the deductions where the best refund can be obtained. This must be done manually. When reviewing, there is some confusion with capital loss deductions and carry backs, and the alert continually comes up, but if you hit ignore, it simply says your return is completed with no errors. Now, I'm skeptical as to whether it's correct or not.

3rd year as a user and very happy!
I've filed my own returns using Turbotax (Quicktax) for 3 years now, and have been very happy with the returns! It makes it very simple to file both the federal and provincial returns, and there's a lot of help in case of any tricky sections.
I plan on using it next year again!

Good ...but check the final print out
Good job, made taxes easy. But the final print out had a couple omissions and one page that was all scambled. Could have been a printer connection issue, but i doubt it.

Continuing satisfied user 5+ years filing.
As a retired accountant I find Turbo Tax so convenient and relatively easy to use. I like the carry-forward info facility and comparative information it gives one. Wish a Mac version was available to buy in Canada; but online service is very good and BNS makes it available at a discount. One suggestion: when logging out it is easy to forget to save your return; this should be larger and perhaps come up as a question when logging out. I had to re-enter info already entered when I did not click to save my return. Fix that! Build in a reminder!

Mostly good
Everything was done well except for the Capital Gain section. The layout previous years were much more intuitive than this year for stock capital gains and losses. Had to go the questionnaire section to finally figure out how to enter the data correctly.

Not this year
This year I was surprised to see a refund of $4000 and knew it couldn't be correct. After reviewing the info I decided to send it in. 10 days later I received a refund of $975. A week later we receivda notice from Revenue Canada that my wife owed more than $1500. I might look for a different system next year.

Very Useful
Great program. Could use a little more flexibility in adding comments to various areas (such as foreign capital gains) and should allow ability to enter gains in other currencies (with exchange rate) directly in cap gains area rather than in foreign income area. Also small glitch with Section 20(11) foreign tax paid in exdess of 15%.
But overall very easy to use!

Turbotax reality
TurboTax is great. But it takes a while to get used to it. Problems might arise from the interview flags you set while learning than no information is really necessary to be entered later on.
Printing is a bit of a pain I find, as it doesn't format properly (font size too small) and sometime requires several attempts.

Found version for Mac on-line not as good as version for PC on disc used 2 years ago (Quick Tax). Wasn't able to (or didn't find out how to) go to the individual tax forms, which I preferred at times, to validate what I was being guided to answer by the program.
Good points were easy access when wanted and automatic saves each time I needed to exit.

Easier than I thought.
I have used Turbo Tax software on a PC in the past but switched to a Mac. I was worried about retrieving past records but it was pretty easy. the on-line version was great. only one small hiccup during the process.

great user interface
Great design of user interface and work flow. completed return in no time. However will be better if offered more information and explanation regarding investment income / capital gains & losses etc. After all that section is the reason I opted for Premier version.

TurboTax "OK"
Pretty good overall, but hard to get support unless you pay up front.
Says it automatically finds the best Charitable Donation rates, but did not, just left the amounts split between myself and my spouse..
I had a bigger refund by choosing the higher wage earner.

Generally excellent
This tax package is very easy to use. The only weakness is that it's a bit of a black box and it helps to understand more about how it works to avoid errors. For certain deductions there are two points where they can be listed (e.g., capital gains) and it's unclear whether you should do it both times. The instructions could be clearer in this respect. The program will probably warn you about this at the end (errors), but only after you've spent a long time trying to scope it out. It would be better if the program said, in large print, if you enter this info here, don't enter it again at X.

Good...but....
Helps walk you through. Gives an error message claiming you have made a claim for an ineligible dependent for the arts or fitness amount, even when you did not.

last year had trouble with partial transfers of student tuition and education funds .I would not allow partial transfers or at least not explain why they were not working. I did not use that deduction this year so I am not sure if that problem has been rectified.

Best in Market, but still lacking
Easy to use and (hopefully) produces right result. I find that it should have the ability to fill in info for the T1135E - which I consider a significant shortcoming. I also wished that there was a cross reference function, i.e. so that one could number source documents, reference this when filling in the prompt pages and then go back to see how it all fit into place. This would eliminate the need for self cross checking and I would have expected this of the Premier edition.
