Gets the job done
Overall this service fits the bill. I've used it 3 years in a row. I only wish that it easily allowed me to save my answers to the step by step wizard for later review. Instead I print each page to a PDF and combine this myself afterwards. Be careful about the auto-transfer of information feature (if you use this year after year) as some of the information does not carry forward correctly.

Answered all my questions
With sale of non primary residence and rental income the Premier edition made processing my taxes efficient and easy. Would recommend this Premier edition for more complex tax situations

Disability Credit and Attendant Care
This software was good except for a severe lack of helpful information regarding how to treat attendant care medical expenses vs. the disability credit. I had to do quite a bit of homework to figure it out by myself.

Honest review
I tried several on-line programs for my taxes - most of them were free... but I guess you get what you pay for. I chose to complete the families taxes with Turbo tax inthe end because it was the easiest program to follow. The others were exactly like the actual forms which is good for someone who knows exactly where to go and what to claim onthe forms... but for me, I needed more of a guide.
My only criticism of htis program is its calculations for rental property. There are definitely a couple of glitches there. It never did show my husband and my calculations as 50/50.
Also, managing the Capital Cost Allownace should be easier with more instructions into how to claim or not claim capital costs. This shoul;d be an easy fix - and should have been doe already giventhe chat int he rooms. Everyone coplained about this issue.
Overall I am pleased with this program and will use it again next year.

Easy to Use
As a first time user, I found Turbo Tax easy to use and understand, for the most part. I did encounter one problem, which was resolved by using the help questions and answers on the sidebar. I appreciated all who had contributed their experiences and information.

Fast & Easy

Missing boxes
The one thing I always find that takes time is when boxes from a t-slip are not available on the software. It usually takes a ton of time to find out why and it would be nice if there was some option to pick each box and have a ready explanation as to why it is not included such as 'it will be calculated here---'. I also find that going back to specific section is not intuitive - although it has has improved.

Great tax tool
I've used Turbo Tax for 5 years and I'm always generally pleased.
One problem this year is I was unable to enter both my March-Dec 2012 RSP and Jan-March 2013 RSP contributions. The software would only let me enter one of the choices.
Over all though, a great tax aid.

Transfer from online to sw version
In 2011 I used the online SW and had not issue transferring the file from 2010 which was created using purchased SW; however I am now trying to transfer from 2011 online to the 2012 purchased SW and having nothing but issues so will need to re-enter everything. Very disappointed.

If only there was more time
One great inprovement would be to extend the time allowed by the "Timeout" feature, or giver the user a "pause" button so that you didn't get shut out when you were looking up some obscure detail in another pile of papers.

Great until the "extra's" option
Overall was very easy to use. The only real complaint is that I accidentally hit the button to pay for a review and couldn't undo it. When I called they told me I had to start over or simply pay and trust that the extra charge would be reversed.

An Interesting Experience
This was my first time doing my taxes on my own, or rather doing my taxes with the help of a program. TurboTax is relatively user friendly, if you are doing a simple tax return. I had some investments and RRSPs involved, and sadly there isn't much information or help in this section. Anyone contributing to an RRSP can be done in the first 60 days of the new year, and there may be more then one receipt issued. As a newbie to doing my own taxes, I did not know I had to use ALL of the issued receipts, and ended up asking around to find out, same thing when I got into my investments. Having an "info" button where a little blurb to prompt for these kind of lines would have helped. Otherwise this was a great product. Very easy, straightforward for the most part and user friendly - just match up the info by box # and go, then E-file. Good value as well, would have cost me double or triple with a tax prep company, and they have a purchasable option incase you get audited. I would definitely recommend this product!

I used the online software on a Mac, after using Quick Tax on a PC for more than 5 years. The online software is considerably more expensive than the PC, given that I can only use it for one return. The PC software permitted more than one return. The extra cost will make me consider other software next year.

Excellent value
I like the step by step process of using TurboTax and the ability to do things one way, then go back and do them the other way, until you know you've got it right. Sometimes the figures aren't exactly in the right block, but the sub-totals and totals always work out. More often, when I'm puzzled by the figure, I realize that TurboTax has done it right and I've missed something. The help line people are great and very patient. Great value, good product!

sweated it out!
Everything was really easy to use EXCEPT for the capital gains / losses area. This is a disaster. It could be improved by asking some additional, simple questions such as: What is the name of the stock? This could be used for multiple stocks / investments. What did you pay for it? What did you sell it for? Then Turbo Tax could calculate the capital gains tax applicable or apply the loss.
