Turbotax online
I have been a Turbo Tax user for years and have just moved over to Apple computers. I am not sure if I like using this on line tool yet. I would have liked to have the option to download a version and work off line.(old habits are hard to break)

Rocky start but good finish
The Turbotax experience for the 2011 tax season started off poorly with the data from the 2010 tax submission not being accessible. The Turbotax IT team manually dumped the 2010 data into the 2011 form and then I was able to get going.
I still think there is a negative to the Stocktrade Tracker not being included in the program anymore.
There are other tracking programs/spreadsheets that can easily be used but having everything loaded onto the Stocktrade tracker from the previous 8 years made it easy to continue with buys and sells.
Other than that everything worked well. The calculations and input screens are very easy to work through. I'll be using the online version of Turbotax again next year.

Simple tax solution.
I've been using Turbo tax and it's previous incarnation quick tax for almost a decade. It's easy and the help section has never left me guessing.

We have used this program for years and find it user friendly. The main problem I have is when I want to go back and change something, the changes aren't always saved...so I repeatedly go back to that section, change the info, and then for some reason, the initial information is still there. It's very frustrating. I guess I'll have to start fresh.

Better Every Year
I have used this for three years and it gets better every year. I can't give them five stars or they might not work to improve. There is a confusion about how to get back to change or correct data. On a page there is a "Back" icon and an edit/ delete option. it isnot clear which to use. I have after three years determined that edit is the way to go but because I only use this once a year I forget. Keep working guys. Thank you.

price increase
used to be able to file so many returns for just 39$ now its much more expensive,.pay per return model. still a good product, but the price is getting prohibitive. Maybe time to try something new

It's OK but could be better
I have been using TurboTax back from the days when it was QuickTax, so decades! TurboTax does somewhat get better year after year but there are always quirks and unintuitive or inefficient workflows. Some of the best tools to help navigate are the BACK button and creating Bookmarks so that you can easily get back to hidden pages. It would be great in individual lines were linked to the sources so you could see and edit if required the information references. Also, a good search bar which is ALWAYS available would be very handy. The upgrade ads are a nuisance and the multiple different choices and variations of "editions" are really confusing. But all in all, it get the job done.

Trying to trick you to upgrade always
Is fine and easy to use for non-complicated accounts.... but the number of times they try and trick you into paying for a more expensive product is rediculous and i'm moving to new platform next year - many are reasonable and don't try to sucker you into paying for something you don't want or really need.. some are even free for equivalent of $50 premier product.

Too many duplications
It seemed like it went back over the same questions several times & it did the review 3 times with the exact same questions before agreeing to NetFile. I have used TurboTax for over 20 years & have always loved it. Went to the online as per the suggestion when downloading. Not sure I am happy I did that.

1st & last time using online
Used the downloadable tax software for 20+ years. No real complaints other than the unhelpful help screens. First time using the online service... same mostly unhelpful help screens. The actual tax forms are hidden and you cant see them until after you file. Not a big deal if all you have is a T4. However it really bogs you down if you have T5008, T5 and T3 slips in quantity when you cant see all the fields in a single form. T5008 is the worst as you need to verify each security traded and the amounts but the ticker and the related ACB and disposition amounts are not shown on the summary page. You have to click on each and every security to find out what the stock ticker was. Never again unless they make this easier to use with less clicking. It took h hours to wade through these slips.

Keeps Upselling which caused extra work!
Had to do two returns as accidentally clicked accept upselling plan which I didn't need. I get why some more complicated returns need more support and cost more. I am not one of them, but without paying higher plan you cannot enter information imported on a T3 associated with my company pension.

Good service but...
When you input previous years data, verity your current tax slips are current in this years return. It's not always clear on how to add ie: T5 slips if you never had them before. It is possible, just not easy.

Self service should be free

Would not allow me to refuse upgrade
This year, due to my US pension benefits, I was made to upgrade when there was no need. My return was unchanged from 2024 and this did t happen. It was impossible to refuse the upgrade. Extremely frustrating! This is my last time using turbo tax.

Takes time when you have investments
First time user. I figured out relatively easily how to navigate most of the program. It would make it easier if it were possible to click on a figure during review to get back to that part of the tax return.
The review at the end was useful but when I wanted to change something, I couldn't get back to that interactive part of the program.
Maybe checking that the T5008 will not take losses in determining capital gain/loss would be helpful.

Pretty good
Fair value for basic returns.
Too much upselling.
Hard to go backwards if you forgot something. For example if I forgot that I had donations and didn’t check the box at the beginning,it’s hard to get to donations page and HELP or FAQ doesn’t work well

My Opinion Changed
Up until this year I would have given TurboTax the highest marks. This year it couldn't Netfile for me so I had to print and mail the return.
That would be okay if it told me how many place to sign. I had to find them all. That would be okay if the forms I had to extract and mail separately didn't start of the back of a page (I use duplex printing). Just a lack of attention to detail. You normally do better than this.

Watch for Dvd tax credit
